The Kano State Police Command has confirmed the killing of a Divisional Police Officer, DPO, CSP Baba Ali Mohammed, by irate youths in Rano town, Rano Local Government Area of Kano State. Spokesman for the command, Abdullahi Kiyawa, announced this in a statement on Monday in Kano, saying the police had arrested of 27 suspects. “The Kano State Police Command is aware of an unfortunate incident that occurred on 25th May 2025, at about 08:15pm, in Rano Local Government Area, where based on public outcry and complaints, a motorcycle mechanic, one Abdullahi Musa, ‘m’, suspected to be under the influence of substances, was arrested and detained for reckless and dangerous riding. The suspect was taken into custody and later showed signs of weakness, prompting his being rushed to Rano General Hospital, where he unfortunately passed away on 26th May 2025, at about 06:00am, while receiving treatment. Following the incident, some miscreants mobilized and attacked the Rano Police Division, looting, setting parts of it and two vehicles ablaze, destroying ten (10) other vehicles and seriously injured the Divisional Police Officer. The DPO was rushed to Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, where he later died while receiving treatment. Twenty-seven (27) suspects have been arrested in connection with the incidents. The situation has been brought under control, and normalcy has been restored. “The Commissioner of police, CP Ibrahim Bakori, PhD after visiting the scene and paying condolence visit to the Emir of Rano, His Highness, Ambassador Dr. Mohammed Isah Umar (Autan Bawo 19), ordered a comprehensive and transparent investigation to identify the remote and immediate causes of the incidents and bring those responsible for any wrongdoing to justice. “The Command while commiserating with the family of the deceased DPO that paid the supreme price in active service, appeals to residents to remain calm and avoid taking the law into their hands, allowing the investigation to progress uninterrupted. “The Command assures the public of its commitment to maintaining peace and public order in the State and urges everyone to cooperate with the authorities during this investigation.” https://dailynigerian.com/27-arrested-as-irate-youths-kill-dpo-set-police-station-ablaze-in-kano/ |

Mynd44:You talk about the suspect as if every traffic violator is a terrorist or armed robber, that’s pure fear mongering. Not every person going against traffic is a bloodthirsty criminal. Sometimes they’re reckless, sometimes panicked, sometimes just stupid. But law enforcement has a duty to assess, de-escalate, and act proportionately, not to turn public roads into action movie sets where missed bullets and flipped cars are “acceptable risks.” Claiming that officers shouldn't be held accountable because the suspect "started it" is the kind of logic that excuses brutality and systemic abuse. The fact that someone broke the law doesn't mean the police are suddenly above it. And the kicker? You admit the method of stopping the vehicle was dangerous, then still go on to defend the officers and the system that enables this recklessness. You can't have it both ways. If law enforcement actions risk more harm than the suspect's behavior, then they are part of the problem, not the solution. |
Oh, don’t be fooled, those tears aren’t for the man. They’re for the business that just died with him. Money train just crashed ![]() |
Trump fit tell Mexico to pay for the damages. That man no send |
Our educational system faces numerous challenges, but when the integrity of the examination body comes into question, it signals a far more serious issue. How can we determine whether past failures were due to systemic shortcomings or technical errors? And who will take responsibility for reviewing the exams from those years? |
Trump brought in the real racist |
Nice one. The government deserves praise when it performs well and should receive constructive criticism when necessary. In this case, they merit commendation. |

Another hollow announcement from a government that has mastered the art of talking without results. This is just more noise from an administration that has yet to deliver. |

Good afternoon house My inverter setup is as follows: a 3.5kVA inverter with two Luminous tubular batteries. I have three 555W Jinko solar panels connected in parallel to an old 60A Modern Felicity charge controller. 6mm copper wire from the panels to the charge controller. However, the cables(6mm) from the charge controller to the batteries tend to get warm, and sometimes even hot. What could be causing this, and is there any solution? |
2025 would be a long year. Just sit back and enjoy the best it has to offer. |
This fight will be very long. No peace at sight yet. ![]() |

VDM is locked up for days without charge, but EFCC can’t touch Yahaya Bello, Sadiya Farouq, or Betta Edu despite serious corruption claims. That’s not justice. That’s oppression. When truth tellers are jailed and the corrupt are protected, Nigeria isn’t just broken,it’s bleeding. |
VDM has been held for days without charge, yet the EFCC can't lay a finger on Yahaya Bello, Sadiya Umar Farouq, or Betta Edu despite mountains of corruption allegations. How is that justice? I see it as oppression. Silencing truth while shielding the powerful is the clearest sign that Nigeria isn’t just broken. It's bleeding |

Francis just yesterday greeted Catholic faithful who had gathered to see him at St Peter's Square on Easter Sunday. He delivered his 'Urbi et Orbi' benediction from a balcony overlooking the square following mass to mark the high holiday. On his way to the basilica, Francis met briefly with US Vice President JD Vance, who was spending Easter in Rome with his family. The Vatican said the encounter was 'brief' and lasted a few minutes. Francis's body will lie in state in St Peter's Basilica during an official mourning period, and then - in contrast to most of his predecessors - he will be buried in the basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore in Rome's Esquilino neighbourhood. The Argentine became the first pope from outside Europe in 1,300 years when he was chosen to replace the retiring Pope Benedict XVI. Despite several previous health issues and reduced mobility caused in part by his advancing years and expanding waistline, Francis had kept up a busy schedule until his final weeks. In September 2024, he carried out a 12-day tour across south-east Asia and Oceania that included visits to Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and Singapore. Francis, who was born Jorge Mario Bergoglio in Buenos Aires, will be remembered for his comparatively liberal attitudes on some subjects that made him both popular and controversial. He expressed tolerance towards divorcees, allowed priests to bless same-sex couples under certain circumstances, and put concern for the environment at the heart of his papacy. And he said in 2023 that transgender people could be baptised as long as it did not cause a scandal or 'confusion'. But he did stand firm on the subject of abortion. In a text signed by Francis that was released by the Vatican last year, terminations were described as 'an extremely dangerous crisis of the moral sense'. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-14405965/Pope-Francis-dead-88-Catholic-Church-Vatican.html?ito=social-facebook |
Ijoba85:Please move aside! Stop using “nobody is perfect” as an excuse to support nonsense. You don’t need to be a saint to speak out against wrong. If we all stay silent because we’re not perfect, this country will drown in chaos. |
If president Tinubu truly has nothing to hide, let him come out and address everything, clearly, directly, and with evidence. Enough of the PR statements and spin. Nigerians deserve better than this. |
So now the FBI is releasing files on president Tinubu, and our government says “nothing new”? This man is the President of Nigeria, not some random person. If he has nothing to hide, why not be open? People are suffering,no fuel, no money, no peace and instead of fixing things, we’re busy defending someone with a shady past. Nigerians deserve better. We need leaders with clean hands, not more secrets. |
