ANGELMARVE:
Buying of private jet is not as hard as you think.

The reason why you think it's hard is because of the lies about the amount.

This is why most sports stars have private jets because they have a steady flow of income for the next five to ten years, and this is why Davido's father can afford it too because he is a business owner.

Not many foreign musicians have private Jets because it's one thing to buy it's another to maintain it and keep paying tax for it.

Musicians do not have a steady and guarantee flow of weekly or monthly salaries. This is why no Africa Musician can afford a private jet, not Davido or whizkid or dbanj.
The tax alone will give them heart attack.

Do you expect Davido's father to be maintaining Davido's jet for him?
Hell No.

And one last thing, he might have sold his previous jet and add money to buy this one or have a deal with the jet company to return the first private jet and add little money for a new one and lastly.

Some people might not even be the sole owner of the jet.

What is in the contract is that the company makes the jet readily available for him if he needs it but once he don't need it, the company hires the jet out.

The world of the rich is complicated, everything is not as it seems online.

By the order of the Peaky blinders.

Politics / Re: US Property Acquired By General Erema Akerejola - Sahara Reporters by OlawaleAE: 11:02pm On Dec 13, 2023
BushDoctor123:
RE: EXCLUSIVE Million-dollar US Property Acquired By Nigerian Army General In Charge Of Logistics, Akerejola Uncovered As Soldiers Lament Poor Welfare, Obsolete Equipment

The Nigerian Army has noted with great concern the deliberate and concerted efforts to mislead the public by Sahara Reporters through a mischievous and smear campaign against the Chief of Logistics (Army) Major General Erema Akerejola over an unfounded allegation of a property in the United States with proceeds from contract scams.

Ordinarily, this bogus accusation would not have necessitated any reaction from the Nigerian Army, however, because the Nigerian Army holds transparency and accountability as some of its core values, it is necessary to set the record straight.

First and foremost, the property in question, located in the United States, was indeed acquired 12 years ago on a monthly mortgage basis, which is still being paid by Mrs Akerejola, who has lived and worked in the US for the past 19 years.

Alluding to insinuations that the owner of the property comes from a poor background is a slap on the face of every hardworking Nigerian, who has made something positive of themselves, despite their birth circumstances.

It is important to note that General Akerejola was only appointed about 6 months ago as the Chief of Logistics Nigerian Army, while the property was acquired about 12 years ago. Accordingly, the vague report intentionally failed to mention the year of acquisition. Therefore, ignoring those details in order to achieve sensationalism and satisfy his thirst to mischievously mislead the public was rather the ulterior motive. Little wonder, the writer did not provide any shred of proof for the story, other than the supposed words of unnamed sources, who appear disgruntled, if at all, they even exist.

It is expedient to state that the real intention or otherwise of the infamous online media in publishing such toxic concoctions at this critical period is targeted at causing disaffection and shaking the table within the Army. The NA's commitment to upholding the highest standards of integrity remains unwavering and would not condone any form of corruption or fraudulent activities within its ranks.

It is regrettable that such unfounded allegations have been made against a highly respected officer of the Nigerian Army who has a distinguished record of service and has consistently demonstrated utmost professionalism and dedication to duty throughout his career.

We urge the public to exercise caution and refrain from spreading false information capable of tarnishing the reputation of individuals who have dedicated their lives to the service of our nation. We also implore the media to carry out their responsibilities with the highest level of professionalism, ensuring that accurate and verified information is disseminated to the public.

The Nigerian Army remains committed to its mission of protecting the territorial integrity of our great nation and serving as a force for good. We will continue to hold ourselves accountable to the Nigerian people and operate with transparency and integrity at all times.

It must be asserted that the NA under the current leadership has remained resolute in carrying out its constitutional role and will vigorously continue to implement welfare programmes for the benefit of all personnel. Troops deployed in ongoing operational engagements are putting in their best in defence of the nation and should be encouraged, rather than plotting disaffection amongst them.

We assure the public that any allegation of wrongdoing within our ranks will be thoroughly investigated, and appropriate actions will be taken in accordance with the provisions of the law. The Nigerian Army remains committed to upholding the trust reposed on it by Nigerians.

Politics / Re: Is Adeleke Planning To Join APC? by OlawaleAE: 8:19pm On Dec 13, 2023
yakdat91:
By Adebayo Adedeji

Having bungled the somewhat goodwill that brought him to office as the 6th executive governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, no doubt, has realised that dancing around the state alone can't fetch him the needed second term in 2026. Just seven months in the saddles, he has lost the grip of governance. He now struggles to pay pension and salary, couldn't fulfil his pre-election social contract of offsetting salary arrears before 100 days in office and social contract of transforming the State of the Living Spring to a mini London. His only achievements thus far are an installation of few poorly built pit-latrines and a construction of substandard roads, 1km in all, across the state! He has realised that his fans are deeply disappointed in him, despite the huge allocation, close to N100billion, accrued to the state since his inauguration last November.

Therefore, given his uninspiring performance, the prevailing local and national politics, the dancing governor might have been informed that the most desirable option available to him is rejoining the All Progressives Congress so as to protect his mandate and the business interest of his elder brother and sponsor, Dr Deji Adeleke.

The senior Adeleke, father of the ace singer, Davido, is known for his involvement in the energy/power sector in the country. His Pacific Energy Limited operates the Olorunsogo Power Company located in Ogun State and Omotosho Power Company located in Ondo State.

Since 2006 when the company acquired the two power plants (partly though), it has made significant exploits that now demand it gives more push for it to have a better hold in the industry. To fulfil its vision, the company in 2021 expressed its interest to invest in some plants put up for sale by the Bureau of Public Enterprises ( BPE). The five plants affected are in Geregu, Omotosho, Olorunsogo, Calabar and Benin-Ihovbor. The plants are 100 per cent for sale, in line with the policy of divesting government shares from thermal generating plants.

Of the 36 firms which submitted EOIs (Expression of Interests) for the power privatisation, 16 firms were shortlisted July 2022, including Deji Adeleke's Pacific Energy. But the process to land the deal is not a child's play. It involves many behind-the-scenes.

Can a sensible government allow an unfriendly investor control its power sector? The Adelekes know the answer, reason they have literally relocated to Aso Villa, running kitikiti to be in the good book of the new president. Or how many times, since emergence of Asiwaju Tinubu as country's president, have you seen the big mannequin in Abere issue his usual kindergatten press statements to deride Jagaban or his blood, Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola, the immediate past governor of Osun State?

The Adelekes know they must shed their combative posturing... and better behave themselves, else their life-time ambition would suffer an eternal damnation. Because Tinubu won't stay akimbo while his party members in Osun are taken to Golgotha to be bludgeoned to death with reckless abandon, as it was the case in recent elections where close to thirty (30) APC members were gruesomely killed for the governing party in the state to earn their pyrrhic victories.

They know Tinubu won't subscribe to any election short of decency. And poignantly, they know it is a tall order for them to win a free-and-fair election under the unpopular, tattered and accursed umbrella. Reason the speculated migration back to APC is possibly number one on their wish-list.

Whymee:
One of the programs and achievement of the present government during his campaign is building 12 universities across Nigeria.

As much as I appreciate this development, something still baffles me, besides the administrative angle and academicians inputs to the establishment of a university and other module of operandi which I don't no much about.

Does establishing a university really cost much for the government. The lands are free, enough inputs from academicians, professors, educational regulatory bodies, university commissions etc, ...which are virtually free.

An average of 200 to 500 million naira on building per university for a start. ( administrative block, student affair block, and two to five lecture rooms).

I do see private university here and there and from my assessment they grow with time.

On an average less than 6.5billion naira for all the 12 universities, is this actually a project a government should be proud of for over a tenure.

Pls enlighten and educate me on what's takes to build a university by government.

Yeah ..from the start point...it would then grow over time...

Education / Re: Can I Go For Masters Degree With A Cgpa Of 2.93? by OlawaleAE: 11:09am On Jan 13, 2022
some schools would outrightly spell out 2.1 and above especially for some categories of programs , however could take 2.2 with some other compensatory factors... or less than 2.2 with some additional requirements to fulfill...

Additionally in some institutions, research dominant programs would typically require a relatively high Cgpa to get in directly (after first degree) or evidence of a previous masters degree completed

Broad range of CGPA would typically be invited for the selection process mostly (exams +/-interviews +/- other considerations like experience for MBA, research proposals for Mphil,MRes,MbyRes, Phds) ...selection process is more like okay come prove your self that you are a suitable candidate for the work ahead...most times what it takes to have built a good track record would still be applicable in proving your self, and if you probably can prove to be worth more than your cgpa or so ,you are also welcome...
