I think the first thing to do , the only way to ensure this won't backfire is to introduce any policy that'll provide goods and services to ensure there's more goods than demand


For example, before closing up borders, encourage massive importation of food stuffs until we are able to produce enough in the country , at this rate , when these sellers hear increase in salary , they'll double prices of goods too, but if there's excess goods, that won't be the case

Buhari Ministers split, 10 likely to tender resignation

Reports emanating from the Presidency indicates that not less than 10 ministers are threatening to tender their resignation letters.

It was learnt that the mass resignation became necessary, because six months after President
Muhammadu Buhari swore in his ministers, most of them have still not settled down in Abuja.

The ministers are alleged to be groaning, because the N4 million approved by the president as their yearly accommodation allowance have not been able to rent any meaningful house in Abuja.

The N4 million, according to findings can only rent flats and not homes, and giving the need for security, those flats which have many other tenants in the building, are not secure or fit for purpose.

However, owing to the inadequacy of the funds approved for their accommodation by President Muhammadu Buhari, some ministers have been forced to stay in dingy hotels or squat with friends and relatives, it was gathered.

The ministers, THISDAY learnt, are concerned that it would be next to impossible for them to get accommodation befitting their offices with N4 million in Abuja and have repeatedly appealed to Buhari to review it upwards to N20 million per annum, but their request has been turned down.

This non-commitment of the President towards the ministers’ welfare is allegedly leading to mass resignation.

According to a source in the presidency, “In a bid to make their case, all the ministers who had formed a committee on the issue of their accommodation met with Buhari last week Wednesday, but he rejected their request, because his hands are tied by the Remuneration Act, even though he empathises with their situation.

However, the president was said to have declined at increasing the accommodation allowance to N20 million on the grounds that the administration could suffer a backlash from the public.

The source also explained that the N4 million approved by the president was in line with the current remuneration package for public office holders.

Under the current package, ministers are entitled to N4,052,800 as housing allowance per annum.

However, Aides of the ministers conversant with the problem, said that some compromise would have to be reached so that the ministers could find decent accommodation in Abuja.

He added, that the nature of their jobs also requires some ministers to host local and foreign dignitaries at their residences when they visit Abuja.

Another aide, who preferred not to be named, blamed the problem on the monetisation programme of the Olusegun Obasanjo administration, resulting in the sale of official residences built for ministers and other top
government functionaries in Abuja.

Although, sources refused to divulge the names
of the ministers who are considering resignation.

“They were asking for N20 million per annum for their accommodation. But prior to last week’s meeting, several other options had been proposed, including buying an estate or the FCDA building one,
but these were considered expensive and dropped.

“The final option was the request for N20 million per annum, because some ministers are squatting in Abuja and the situation is impacting on their jobs.”

“We hope there will be a meeting point over what the president has approved for the ministers and the special advisers who are on the same level, as the N4 million is not realistic at all.

“Some of these public office holders were past governors and chief executives in private concerns before they were appointed, and it will be unfair to
downgrade their living standards,” one ministerial aide stated.

“By virtue of their office, some ministers such as those in charge of foreign affairs, budget and national planning, finance, trade and investment, health, and
education, among others, often host foreign dignitaries from missions, embassies and international or multilateral donor agencies.

Accordingly, they would need befitting accommodation.

“It would not be in our interest for such dignitaries to be hosted in tiny flats or I far flung suburbs outside the metropolis, which is what the N4 million can afford at the moment. Besides, there might also be
security concerns about allowing ministers to live in such suburbs or even hosting foreign dignitaries there.

“Right now, the absence of accommodation also means that many of them have not been able to relocate their families and have been shuttling on a
regular basis to cater to the home front.

Realistically, that will be a distraction that the administration could do without,” the aide said.

“In the past, former ministers lived in multi purpose-built spacious mansions in Maitama, the Ministers’ Hill, also in Maitama, and the Ministers’ Quarters in
Mabushi, which were all within the Abuja metropolis,” he said.

What's this constant crap about 2:2 all about? I call it a pathetic self pity lamentation from anyone who is not determined for success in life.

I have friends who have a 2:1 and are contract staffs in banks, and friends with a 2:2 who are core staff in big firms.

Truth be told, for banks and most top auditing firms, you need a 2:1 to get a graduate trainee job, but then how many graduate trainee jobs are given out there in a year? Lots of other jobs out there have the basic 2:2 benchmark.

Lastly, I will tell any 2:2 holder to go for experience no matter how small the pay is, a 2:2 with experience would get you jobs which a 2:1 holder kept dreaming for as he/she keeps waiting for graduate trainee employment. Experienced hire positions of 2 years upwards mostly have no 2:1/2:2 disparity.

And for the last time, stop this self pity gibberish about if there is hope for 2:2 graduates, because 2:2 graduates have excelled, are excelling and will still excel in the future to come!

Hello, everyone i greet you all, all my life i have listened to so many preaching ,on TV,radio,on the road, through books, etc, dishing out the gospel. etc.The essence of preaching the good news of Jesus Christ in the first place, is to bring people to HIM,and many times i have seen people lacklustre in their approach to preaching the gospel.I believe and know that if evangelism is done effectively more souls would be won, and not just won, they would remain in Christ.Here are some ways evangelism can be done effectively

1. Seeking help from the Holy Spirit : Who else could you ask for better help , than from the source, how else could you learn and share information about a person , if you don't ask that person for help .Ask the Holy Spirit for help !!!!, HE is the perfect guide, the perfect Navigator, the perfect Teacher, the perfect Instructor, the perfect Persuader , HE can show you ways you never dreamed or taught of.Let the Holy Spirit lead you !!!

2. Put yourself in Jesus shoes : Jesus Christ is the love guy himself (don't get angry i used "guy" , you will know why soon) , everything he did radiated love , how are you preaching the gospel ?, are you preaching with scorn ?, are you preaching with hate in your heart (like Jonah), are you preaching with a judgmental approach, are you preaching with love ?, remember you are preaching to people who have gone astray , people who probably live their lives haphazardly , preaching without love would only push them away more , how can you preach love and what is written all over you is anything but love , evangelize with love !!! . Romans 5:8

3. Use the word of God : What better way to pierce through someones heart than with a "double edged sword" , the Word of God has this power , has this glory , this soothing ,calming and at the same time fierce "texture" and touch, the Word of God has the ability to calm the disturbed and bring to the light that which is in darkness, it has the ability to give a map to those who have no direction . Use God's Word today !!! Psalm 119:105 , Hebrews 4:12

4. Evangelize through your life and daily activities : Someone once said to me , people don't read the bible nowadays they read the life of other Christians, in a way the person was right !!!!(I am not saying you should replace the word of God and start watching your pastor like Telemundo *winks* read the Word of God !!!).People nowadays look at the lives of Christians, they watch carefully and with great scrutiny , how effective do you think your evangelism would be when your life does not reflect what you preach !!!!.Live right and by God's standard !!.

5. Speak Audibly : This is a part some people might not like , but its so true, I once saw a man in garment all he did as he walked down the road was ring a bell(dont get me wrong that might have been the instruction he was given by the Holy Spirit, that's why i added the Holy Spirit as number 1), then i saw another , she/he (i cant really remember), was using a megaphone !!!, i was so close to the person-few meters , but i could still barely hear what the person was saying !!!!, i am not saying you should shout , but being audible while talking about Jesus , makes your work more effective.

6. Don't be too serious and be creative : There is something about human psychology, when repetitions occur especially when preaching the gospel even in church ,the human brain has the tendency to get "bored" and tired.When preaching,add some flare,add some pepper and salt -meaning do somethings differently, crack some slight jokes,create colorful illustrations(especially for children) ,smile, why would you be preaching the gospel and "boning" your face like you just perceived spoiled beans mixed with ice cream *winks* (this should give you the reason why i used "guy" in number 2-no disrespect was intended) .The human mind commits things to memory better when they enjoy what they do, see, or hear.Make evangelism and learning about Jesus fun !!!NOTE When adding all these "pepper and salt" do it with moderation and also don't get carried away , while still having the Holy Spirit with you to guide you.

7. Use the social media and technology: I know so many people would not like this , saying *in a grumpy old mans voice" was there Facebook in Jesus time ?,when we were young we trek from Zamfara to Lagos to preach the Gospel, why should we be using, Facebook to preach the gospel" . Let me ask you this , were cars available in Jesus times too ?, why don't you just trek to church then , Seriously now, using the social media and technology to evangelize would help and it should not be used as a primary center for evangelism , it should be used as a supportive medium and trust me its quite effective .


ADDITION : Follow up is key when evangelizing , try to check up on those you evangelize to as much as you can , a call or text would suffice

All in all the most important is number one , if utilized properly , HE can show you ways you never imagined to evangelize effectively,Have you asked and prayed to God to show you better and effective ways to evangelize , ask HIM today !!!.
