A young man saw his primary school teacher at a wedding ceremony. He went to greet him with all respect and admira dotion!! He said to him: "Can you still recognize me Sir?' 'I don't think so!!', said the Teacher, 'could you please remind me how we met?' The student recounted: "I was your Student in the 3rd Grade, I stole a Wrist watch belonging to my then classmate because it was unique and fascinating. My Classmate came to you crying that his Wrist Watch had been stolen and you ordered all Students in the class to stand on a straight line, facing the wall with our hands up and our eyes closed so you could check our pockets. At this point, I became jittery and terrified of the outcome of the search. The shame I will face after other Students discovered that I stole the Watch, the opinions my Teachers will form about me, the thought of being named a ' thief' till I leave the School and my Parents' reaction when they get to know about my action. All these thoughts flowing across my heart, when suddenly it was my turn to be checked. I felt your hand slipped into my pocket and you brought out the Watch. I was gripped with fear, expecting the worse to be announced. I was surprised I didn't hear anything, but Sir, you continued searching other Students' pockets till you got to the last person. When the search was over, you asked us to open our eyes and sit on our Chairs. I was afraid to sit because I was thinking you will call me out soon after everyone was seated. But to my amazement, you showed the watch to the class, gave it to the owner and you never mentioned the name of the one who stole the watch. You didn't say a word to me, and you never mentioned the story to anyone. Throughout my stay in the school, no Teacher or Student knew what happened. This incident naturally taught me a great lesson and I resolved in my heart never to get myself involved in taking whatever is not mine. I thought to myself, you saved my dignity." "Do you remember the story now Sir? You can't simply forget this story Sir!!" The teacher replied, ' I vividly remember the story that I found the Watch in a pocket but i did not know in whose pocket the stolen Watch was found that day because I searched your pockets while I also had my eyes closed." In life, we need wisdom for everything we do. As Parents, Teachers, Pastors, Leaders etc... *We should be able to close our eyes to some things. Not all misbehaviour require punishment. Some will need encouragement, some mentoring and some monitoring.* *Be a Leader who impacts, not one who shatters.*. #Staysafe |

My husband set me up. There is this man who began chatting with me around April. The man is handsome and with money. He began showering me with nice messages and slowly graduated to gifts. We hadn't met but finally we met and I liked him more. Slowly we began planning on some romantic out and finally we booked a hotel out of town. I took myself there, weekend daytime. I had lied to my husband am going to visit a cousin of mine who lives there. We got to the hotel and went to the room. We showered and we got to bed. However just as we began having romance, the door got banged so hard. The man seemed scared but went to open the door. My husband came inside and found me naked. He told me: now I have proven that you aren't faithful to me. He told me it was all a set up to try me since he has always suspected me that I would cheat given the chance. The man admitted it was true he was hired to try me. He dressed up and both my husband and him left. I felt so much ashamed I didn't go home but went to my mothers place and haven't told her why am there. The children are with my husband. How do I solve this one? Am so confused I blame myself though. Pls leave your comments in the comments section. |

Robbers Enter a House, Asks for all the Money and Valuables. After they collect what they can, they give the man of the house a gun with instructions to shoot his wife or else he be shot himself. The man gets the gun, points it at his wife and hesitates. He is thinking of what he has gone through in life with his wife and how she has suffered and sacrificed for him. He hands back the gun and says, “I am sorry I can’t do this… “The boss of the robbers silently grabs the gun from him and passes it on to the wife with the same instruction. The wife gets the gun and without any single hesitation points to her husband’s head and pulls the trigger. But at last, the gun had no bullets in it. The robbers get their gun and walk out of the house laughing. QUESTIONS FOR DISCUSSION. 1). If you were the man in that house how would you react towards your wife? 2). If you were the wife, what explanation can you give to your husband! 3). If you were invited to bring peace between this couples, what advice would you give? Drop your comments & this should really be an interesting topic to discuss as counsellors. |

OBEDIENCE TO LAW CRUCIAL FOR OUR DEVELOPMENT – SANWO-OLU Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, has urged Lagosians to be law-abiding as the State can only prosper in an environment of peace and security. Sanwo-Olu made the plea today, while speaking during the passing out parade of the Year 2020 graduating participants of the Lagos State Law Enforcement Training Institute (LETI) held at the Public Service Staff Development Centre, (PSSDC), Magodo. Speaking through his deputy, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, the Governor stressed the need for citizens to always obey the law, adding that his administration recognises the need for an effective security system that promotes a peaceful and prosperous society. According to the Governor, “Our administration recognises the need for an effective security system as sine-qua-non to a peaceful and prosperous society. This is why Security and Governance represents a key pillar in our administration’s T.H.E.M.E.S agenda. It goes without saying that effective security and safety of lives and property can only be achieved with a qualitative blend of men and materials”. The Governor added that in order to further enhance the capacity of the State’s law enforcement outfits, such as the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, (LASTMA), Neighbourhood Safety Corps and Vehicle Inspection Services among others, his administration established the Law Enforcement Training Institute (LETI) for personnel to acquire expertise in maintaining peace in the State at all times using state-of-the-art equipment and cutting edge knowledge. He disclosed that part of the re-engineering process was the deployment of technological tools of law enforcement such as Body Worn Cameras (BWC) and Body Shields in the training of the security personnel, stressing that the equipment will further enhance effective law enforcement in line with modern global trends. Disclosing that the curriculum of the Institute has also been reviewed in response to the challenges and dynamism of the 21st-century law enforcement, Sanwo-Olu said the overall objective is to always be a step ahead of criminals and lawless elements in Lagos. He commended the law enforcement officers for their doggedness, courage and tenacity at all times, especially during the recent upheavals that engulfed the whole nation and the State in particular. The Governor also enjoined the graduating officers to discharge their duties with all due diligence and professionalism, and must be civil in their approach while refraining from any act that would violate the rights of citizens. Earlier in his address, the State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Moyosore Onigbanjo (SAN), who was represented by the Director of Litigation, Ministry of Justice, Mr. Akinkunmi Idowu, enjoined the graduating law enforcement officers to be polite, decent, humane and firm in the discharge of their duties, emphasising the importance of contributing their own quota towards achieving a better Lagos. He commended the management of the Lagos State Law Enforcement Training Institute for its continued orientation of enforcement personnel towards reducing liabilities of the State for infraction of the law by the enforcers themselves. Earlier in his welcome address, the Head of the Lagos State Law Enforcement Training Institute, Prince Ifalade Oyekan thanked the State government for supporting the Institute. He said as a way of enhancing the skills and the training needs of the law enforcement outfits, the Institute has restructured its training module to reflect the peculiarity of each outfit. Prince Oyekan, therefore, called on the State government to assist the Institute in the provision of more equipment to achieve a 21st Century Law Enforcement workforce.
