[quote author=Roseodd post=139561302]There is something I still want to understand please
Is the 18 percent for 12 months because 1.4 million divided by 12 is 166k a month.
And another thing is if I should put that 7million naira will the 1.4 be paid to me upfront [/quote

I did it over 10 years ago can't remember exactly now but I think your paid quarterly..just divide what ever your expecting annually into 4 parts..
Bro am curious how were you disciplined to build funds to 40M then started losing it to gambling ? Was gambling part of the method you used to build funds? did you just get into the gambling after you made money else where ? Then lastly why don't you invest back into what helped you raise that amount of money in the first place ?
InvestmentRe: Equity Investment. by ollypass: 4:27pm On May 31
Is there a daily deduction Zedcrest deducts from funds?

concerning buying the dip, it’s too early to say, it’s just two days of straight line activity, maybe next week will determine if this is where the ASI will decide to rest before the next run
Thanks I may need to download my trading view again ..though the ASI has misled some on here to wonder " ASI is green why did xyz fund return red on my investment " forgetting the bouquet of stocks in that particular fund is what determines Thier return on the day and not a broad indicator as the ASI.

It has recovered fully and it's on track to close in the greens today. I made some 'risky' moves this week and they paid off. I was not confident enough to go in big.
Cheers..more wins
InvestmentRe: Equity Investment. by ollypass: 3:13pm On May 29
My two cents for those asking , is the dip buyable now ? for equity investors which is long term, time in the market always beats timing the market. You get money ? Just buy, you can never get the absolute bottom cos your dip today may latter be the top of a new down trend a few days down the line ...but in the long run (5 years e.g.) did you get a 350 to 400% increase ? if not more?

Don't see it as insult. Before u invest in gt equity, they will give u test assessment, if u are not ready to lose 25% of your capital, then they tell u to stick to mmf & not equity. The people u think are insulting u are only telling u on time to leave this market, so u don't develop high bp.

Alot of u guys were drawn to equity because u were seeing upward movement, same way the market can go up for a month is same way it can go down for a month or even 6 months, so prepare your mind if u still wish to remain in this market or go to mmf now because your money can still drop more than what u are seeing now. Election is approaching & anything can happen.
Hmm talking about election years ....history seems to show the trend ain't pretty 📈

For a start, ASI wouldn't go down like in a way of crash, Naaah, this is basically just correction going on, a twist of fate can happen tomorrow whereby if institutional money enter ZENITH, GTCO and MTN tomorrow, that same tomorrow, ASI might as well gain full strength for another bull run, so it's really a case of bubble, no one wants to be at the receiving end catching the falling knife that's why a correction is happening now. So, the answer is NO! sometimes, ASI doesn't run its full course because it human trading with emotion.

Equity fund managers know how to manage this risk that's why they don't invest all funds into stocks, some keep cash to buy the dip while some invest in fixed income to cushion the loss, so all an investor will do is wait. Only stocks traders can change their destiny by making quick decisions. That's that.

Secondly, the DANGOTE refinery IPO listing is gaining so much buzz and frenzy that I don't even feel attracted to it at all. And to answer your question, it's just hype, it has nothing to do with the market for now until the listing finally comes to the market.
Touche!!

In my opinion about TA and FA debate. TA wins 70% of the time?

Why?

The simple truth is regardless of how solid the FA is, right; the market is still a bubble at the end of the day, even the economy is a bubble in itself, the struggle of not making that bubble burst is why government issues Tbill, Bond and OMO and buy them back. Now the day government fails to pay back or buy back, the bubble will burst, MMF will fail, bond will fail, Tbills will fail, omo will fail. Economy collapse.

Same with trading stocks using FA — again — No matter how solid FA is, the players in the market will ensure a bubble build because if a bubble don't build no one will take profit and no one will buy the stock in the first place. That's why TA comes in.

Now with TA, I can calmly sit in front of my computer and see the irrational buyers, the rational buyer, the noise and the quietness in the market as well as the opportunity and when to enter and leave, even if I don't know what the company is manufacturing, the fact that I can tell the best time to buy thier stock, make money and dump it is such a powerful flex because, in the long run, you will beat the market, compound your money faster and avoid crash in the event that that bad news hit the company and everyone are dumping their stock.

TA wins any day but it's hard to master TA however, FA is out there in the open for easy accessibility but TA takes time and experience to learn and master. But once you have good grasp of it, even in your 70s and 80s, you will still be trading stocks and continue to beat the market, no retirement.
So a practical case study question for you bro, I haven't seen the ASI chart so I don't know how far into over sold territory we are or how far down we need to go from the technicals ...but what impact do you think the fundamental news of the Dangote IPO would have on the charts as we approach it's launch ? Do you feel T.A. will run it's course either way or we will experience a market reversal due to fresh liquidity courtesy of the IPO before the dip gets any dipper?

lol, don't get scared. That's why it's called investment. Every loss is a paper loss until you withdraw your money to physical cash.

ASI ran up too high and too fast, so it only trying to correct itself before things gets back to normal.

The market operate in a zig zag pattern and that's how money is made.
in essence for every 60-80% green 🍏 expect a 20-40% pullback for the market to course correct before going on another run ..this should be the equity long term investor perspective ...when I figured this out, I gave my self peace and stopped trying to figure out how to stop Yakubu from wiping my gains short term...if it was trading you were doing ,then you can apply a stop loss to your set up or set up your exit if your modest in T.A. so you cash out before a trade hits the reversal. ( berom this isn't replying to you but the other bro looking for how to bail out smiley )

This is ASI at "all time high" and it's getting weak. If it continues to get weak for long, there will be a pull back and when that happens, there will be more red days than green days.

Since you just starting, leave the money already invested just don't top up until you can confirm ASI has pulled back.

If you can't read trade chart, always ask ChatGPT what's the current state of ASI in Nigeria stock market. That will give you a hint even if you don't want to ask anyone.
Well done bro..what time frame is in the chart ?

Mankind2024:
Thank you for reading and for your honest response.
I never claimed the stock market is the economy, nor did I suggest that everyone can simply “discipline” their way out of poverty. I know the reality, high food inflation, widespread poverty, worsening insecurity, limited participation in the capital market, etc. Those are facts.

My post was simply sharing a personal testimony: how discipline, patience, and time turned my own savings into meaningful dividend income. It is possible for those who can participate, even if it’s only a small percentage of Nigerians right now. Celebrating that doesn’t mean I’m blind to the struggles of the majority.

You’re right that bad governance and weak institutions have contributed heavily to where we are. No serious person disputes that.
But waiting for perfect government before we take personal responsibility is also a trap. Many of the ordinary people building wealth quietly today started with very little, some during even worse economic periods.

My message has always been to those who can participate, start small, stay consistent, avoid greed and noise. Every person who builds financial independence reduces the burden on society, not increases it.

I’m not “uppity”, I’m just a grateful investor who chooses to focus on what I can control. Right now, I’m redeploying the dividends into quality names I already own (more Zenith, MTNN, and a few others I believe in long term). No hype, just steady compounding.
Wishing you good returns as well.
I just have o e question tho?? cool
