When a guy reaches out to you only after he realises you stopped keeping in touch then its high time you go check the dictionary for the meaning of 'butty call'.
Am sure the relationship will never be the same after then.

@ babybird : you wont blame laz inc,he probably is saying it from experience. for instance that Russian site you posted its link in your first post doesn't lead to anywhere (believe me the Russians are worse when it comes to Yahoo yahoo)1st red flag.also i goggled LBM expecting to see a well designed and informed website instead i was lead to your thread on nairaland, second red flag. secondly the money is just the only thing attracting every one but if you look into it well enough, for a 10sec work you earn that much? something doesn't just add up.

while i wont be too quick to shout scam i would like to ask, whats your proof its not?

here is my mail and number for you to convince me. fsekanogsr@gmail.com 07066212286

Politics / Re: Subsidy Removal: Nigerians Made A Mistake Not Electing Buhari – El-Rufai by ollypass: 8:22am On Jan 08, 2012
At this juncture am all about three point agenda

1) Reversal of oil subsidy removal

2)Impeachment of GEJ and his entire cabinet

3) The total arraignment of all NNPC officials and their thieving sub depts for justice to be delivered.

Then we can start on the way forward
Politics / Re: Email Conversation With Sanusi On Fuel Subsidy Removal by ollypass: 8:02am On Jan 07, 2012
@ klas, Majority opinion is just insisting that if he wants to save face he should resign, i for one am not faulting his analysis of the situation but when it comes to the million dollar question of accountability he dodges the bullet, Also as for saving 30N suggestion it may not be accurate to the naira but the op still deserves credit for coming up with a plan better than the ambiguos we will build road, hospitals and paradise if you accept subsidy removal coming from GEJ's camp.

i do agree with you about prices jumping out of proportion though and that will defeat any phased removal strategy.

lastly like some one said so many questions so few answers e.g what does it take to make the refineries function?, Can a president that cant even deliver 1 out of his 7 point agenda that started years ago deliver on this? Why was a figure that was 300 billion suddenly 1.3trillion? What was the result of the probe on NNPC and unaccounted funds from the exportation of crude oil?
my fingers are already aching so i'll stop here.In light of the above little wonder SLS is minding his language so history will not hold him accountable.
Politics / Re: Email Conversation With Sanusi On Fuel Subsidy Removal by ollypass: 4:35am On Jan 07, 2012
why is sanusi trying to lose what little respect he has left by trying to be two face?it cant work, you cant be pro susidy removal and when asked about accountability of the 1.2 trillion saved you will now want to distance your self from itand say its up to the govt on that one.

let me ask you SLS are you not a part of them> isnt it thier agenda your championing? if not why support what your not totally convinced about as your two faced statements show>

lastly you may have a Phd in economics from some ivory tower somewhere but from some some of your analysis on the effect of subsidy removal on the masses it is clear you need an Diploma in economics from the School of Hard Knocks to understand what the effect truly is on the masses.

Left to Jonathan, Boko Haram would go when dem tire

As laughable and incredulous as the above seems, going from the clueless chain of events and utterances made, one is tempted to wonder if this might just be the true state of affairs in GEJ's mind. lol.
Politics / Re: Purge Security And Intelligence Apparatus Without Delay, Goodluck Jonathan Urged by ollypass: 2:54pm On Dec 28, 2011
Just take a look at GEJ's cabinet and compare it to OBJ's, apart from 1 or 2 people who are actually square pegs in square holes the rest got there through paddy paddy power (many who had failed miserably while holding public offices in the past or at best were mediocre like him-self).

Hence when they screw up its hard to change them and being a typical African even if the whole sector is up in flames the person in charge will die before he/she thinks of resigning.

Hi all,

please don't get me wrong from the on-set, am not a prophet of doom but if their is any one contemplating suicide cause of the hardship around he/her hasn't seen any thing yet.

2012  (maybe cause of the mayen prophecy:i dont know) is going to be a whole lot worse than anything 2011 ever brought up. Dont ask me why but thank God majority of Nigerians are resilient as some one said earlier probably cause the average Nigerian will rather live a lie than face up to his reality hence the cliche suffering and smiling.
Politics / Re: Why Fuel Subsidy Must Go Now, By Jonathan by ollypass: 9:12am On Dec 18, 2011
There is therefore no petrol subsidy. Rather, there is a high sales tax of 91.2% at current prices of N65 per litre. The labor leaders meeting the President should go with their economists. They should send economists and political scientists as representatives to the Senate Committee investigating the petroleum subsidy issue. There are many expert economists and political scientists in ASUU who will gladly represent the view of the majority. The labor leaders should not let anyone get away with the economic fallacy that the swapped oil is free while its refined products must be sold at international prices in the Nigerian domestic market.

The government should explain at what price the swapped crude oil was sold and where the money accruing from these sales have been kept. We have done this simple economic analysis of the Nigerian petroleum products market to show that there is no petrol subsidy what so ever. In the end, this debate on petrol subsidy and the attempt of the government to transfer wealth from the Nigerian masses to a petrol cabal will be decided in the streets. Nigerian workers, farmers, students, market women, youths, unemployed, NGO and civil society as a whole should prepare for a long harmattan season of protracted struggle. They should not just embark on 3 days strike/protests after which the government reduces the hiked petroleum prices by a few Nairas. They must embark upon in a sustainable struggle that will lead to fundamental changes. Let us remove our entire political subsidy from the government and end this petroleum products subsidy debate once and for all. It is time to bring the Arab Spring south.

Emmado if there is anything this GEJ and his cronies are averse to its detailed transparent analysis of their clandestine operations, that said i hope organized labour can get their acts together and present their case with cold facts and figures.
Also i still wonder what amount of abuse we as a people will have to go through in the hands of those we elected into office before we actual start fighting for whats ours and stop smiling and suffering!
Politics / Re: Why Fuel Subsidy Must Go Now, By Jonathan by ollypass: 1:33am On Dec 18, 2011
I laugh in my language:
A government that can not tackle the CABAL, Secure the borders to prevent smuggling of the product, Explain how 250 billion jumped to 1+ trillion,

by now has no detailed road map on how subsidy money will be spent, even after all the heated debate still is too incompetent to present a winning case,

is suppose to be trusted to secure the future of me and over 160 million Nigerians?

NIGGER PLEASE!

Politics / Re: Subsidy Removal:GEJ Ready For Mass Revolt by ollypass: 4:43pm On Dec 11, 2011
Some one gave a lateral thinking assignment and as an addendum to the issues raised in that post i would like to type down my 2 cents questions for what its worth:

1: A govt that was challenged to find other means of saving the economy and seems to lazy or just incompetent to be able to do so is suppose to be trusted with judicious use of the cash saved by implementing the subsidy

2: On paper the merits may look good but so does my C.V. and all other developmental programs Nigeria has had since green revolution in the 60's but how many of these developmental programs, SAP inclusive were implemented effectively as it was proposed to the nation?

3: If they know how much trillion will be saved why has it been difficult for them to release a detailed budget with timelines on how much of that money will be spent on what  before what time so their argument can have more weight? or have they not thought of it cause they couldn't be bothered in the first place knowing accountability. monitoring and evaluation are not poplar buzz words to this particular project?? instead he gives all this ambiguous projects with out time lines, (funniest is employing 20,000 out of millions in each state)

4:Considering 1-3 above is it safe to assume their is a bigger picture the govt is not letting us in on

In summary if the dutch disease that has plagued us all these years cos of over reliance on this sector is removal of subsidy the magic wand that would set right all that is wrong in that sector and by extension the nation or innovative, technology driven re-construction of the other sectors of the economy

Politics / Re: Almajiris - Nigeria's Ticking Time Bomb by ollypass: 8:41am On Apr 24, 2011
ekt_bear:

There is nothing wrong with the religion of Islam. For those of you using very poor, illiterate Hausa Muslims to condemn the whole religion, how would you feel if Turkish, Saudi, or Persian Muslims use you to mock Christianity? Not to talk of all those North African countries which are way better off than naija.

Some particular interpretations of it aren't compatible with modern life. But that doesn't mean all interpretations sucks, or the religion as a whole is evil. Malaysia and Indonesia (in addition to the countries mentioned earlier) are doing a helluva lot better than we are.

Anyway, religion should not be the focus. Quality, modern education and best practices should be the focus.

And FWIW, I'm a Christian myself.

Even when you try not to make it the focus it still is intricately interwoven with all those other parameters you mentioned hence inseparable. I do believe this can not go on for ever, the days of the charlatans are numbered and they know this. North or South Nigerians should hold their Government accountable and you will see less of this madness
Politics / Re: Almajiris - Nigeria's Ticking Time Bomb by ollypass: 8:21am On Apr 24, 2011
From all that has been discussed it may seem the almajiri's are the immediate cause of the problem but the more present and clear danger is; if the almajiri's are zombies as many call them who are those responsible for turning them into such

I think that's where our attention should be focused, hate filled, intolerant, extremist mallams or Imams who teach a Koran they dont even understand, spreading hate filled messages against Christians. regarding them as infidel and only fit for the slaughter. If you have imams that will truly interpret the Koran to this almajiris no politician can use them.

I also want to believe there is a spiritual dimension to it if not how else would you explain the fact that amongst the learned Muslim nairalanders only a handful have come out to condemn the atrocities committed by CPC and spoke against their leader?
Majority of them are citing rigging as an excuse for crimes committed against the innocent minority as if they have taken a vow never to speak against the act of another Muslim no matter how dastardly. (is there anywhere that suspected rigging is punishable by death?)

Honestly is beyond almajiri's. I think there is a strong spirit that goes with Islam and its followers educated or not, that all the reasoning in Nairaland will never comprehend.

@ Gbawe; I believe the international media and groups did some work on that witch children saga and by all means if you feel more has to be done then roll up your sleeves and start a campaign your self. That is what the poster has decided to do than just sit on the side lines and whine. i don't think its too difficult to respect the posters view on this.

This goes for every one that feels injustice is being carried out in other issues un-related to this; Do something about it and stop this crab mentality of trying to pull the man down!
