Politics / Inside The PDP By Seyi Olu Awofeso by olofofo9ja: 6:18pm On Sep 05, 2013
No honesty of purpose once followed PDP’s interpretation of its own party constitution since 1999.
The party’s long-running dishonesty is now the cause of its current crisis - ignited to induce “zoning of the presidential office to the north in 2015” by other means.

Two years ago, northern Nigerian elites had warningly protested PDP ruses they saw trending. “Nothing has taken place in the nation’s political arrangement on the issue of zoning to warrant any shift in the position of the Northern Political Leaders Forum (NPLF). The NPLF therefore wishes to state categorically that it continues to believe in the propriety of its cause, that the 2011 presidency be zoned to the North, until justice is done,” NPLF had said in a communique issued on 15th February, 2011.

But the problem since then has been the rabid mutation of the interpretive meaning of “zoning”.

By creative explications of the term "zoning", quite a few PDP officials have come up with definitions opposite to NPLF's understanding of the zoning clause in PDP's constitution. As it is, "zoning” now means just about anything inside PDP. For example, on November 12, 2012, “zoning” was given an entirely new and astonishing meaning by a federal Senator from President Goodluck Jonathan’s home state of Bayelsa; Senator Nimi Barigha-Amange.
According to him, “At the end of President Jonathan’s tenure, the next people to rule Nigeria should be the Igbo of the south-east. When we say power must shift, why are we restricting it to the North and South? We have six (6) geo-political zones and power must shift from one zone to the other; not from the south to the north. It can never be from the south to the north. When the south-south finishes its tenure, the presidency must then go to the Igbo in the south-east. After the south-east tenure, the presidency can go to the north-east. The Hausa-Fulani states in the north-west should not even think of the presidency until the year 2031.”

By PDP’s own machinations, “zoning” thus becomes a weapon for ethnic fights rather than a benign policy of ethnic peace it was designed for. And now, worse of all, as PDP's interpretive crookedness mutates severally into virulent strands, the tragedy of Nigeria today is silhouetted, as each meretricious interpretation of “zoning” predictably fosters ethnic distrust in Nigeria.

Indeed, following the declaration of PDP's National Working Committee in year 2010 stating that “zoning” means the constitutional right of President Jonathan to contest the 2011 election, and by inference his further right to re-contest a second term in 2015, moreso on the back of a subsequent decision of an Abuja High Court on December 1, 2010, the PDP mutilates a gentleman’s agreement to rotate presidential office between the north and south of Nigeria amongst the zones in either region in turns - as an objective interpretation of “zoning”.

Tellingly, two years ago, ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo, at the time the Chairman of the PDP Board of Trustees gave an even more tortuous and mind-blowing interpretation of the “zoning clause” at article 7.2 [c] of the PDP Constitution, which Justice Lawal Gumi of the Abuja High Court had earlier declared on December 1st, 2010 as “binding on PDP despite that the zoning and rotation clause is not enforceable by a court of law since it falls within the internal affairs of a political party.”

According to President Olusegun Obasanjo’s own publicly-stated interpretation, “Zoning is un-constitutional. It is not part of our national (1999) constitution.”

Till date however, nobody inside the PDP has before or afterwards agreed with Obasanjo’s declaration of Article 7.2 [c] of the PDP Constitution as null and void - not even incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan. Since then though, ex-President Obasanjo has himself not repeated his declaration of the “zoning” clause in the PDP constitution as null and void.

The said article 7.2 [c] says:- “In pursuance of the principles of equity, justice and fairness, the party shall adhere to the policy of rotation and zoning of party and public elective offices, and it shall be enforced by the appropriate executive committee at all levels," but this law was never once obeyed since 1999 - and that's what's now come home to roost as PDP risks implosion from the first transgression sown by two northern presidential candidates who'd ignored PDP's directive not to stand in the party presidential primary in the year 2003.

And now, for the first time in 14 years since monopolizing federal governance of Nigeria, PDP faces internal revolt it never experienced - except perhaps the party’s western split in 1999.

In 1999, the PDP had suddenly lost its entire south-west political leaders when Bola Ige led a walk-out of the party with the walk-away south-west leaders acidly deprecating PDP as “a political party functioning like a military barrack of retired ex-Generals and colonels.”

Last Saturday, 31st August, when 14 years later the PDP faced a similar walk-out but this time from its north-west members; four-fifth of which legislators on the party platform in the House of Representatives in the north-west including all eleven elected PDP members from Sokoto State, plus all legislators from Kano and Adamawa States, and some 46 others - including 11 out of the 13 legislators from Rivers State - it was déjà vu of a sort, although serious enough to weaken the party’s hitherto broad coalition.

For besides this legislative revolt, no fewer than five (5) north-west elected PDP state Governors also issued a similar public statement on 31st August, and went further to appoint a new PDP Chairman, all by themselves - ignoring all party procedures stated in the PDP constitution - requiring prior joint resolution for a national convention by both the party’s National Executive Committee and the National Working Committee.

“They are only trying to create an impression of factions in PDP so that all elected PDP legislators and Governors can then lawfully defect to another party without forfeiting their posts”, a PDP official hissed as he told the media that the dissenting north-west members are malicious in intent, although that was not saying anything new, since one of the five dissenting Governors, Rear Admiral Murtala Nyako of Adamawa State had since last month made clear that their plan is “to help bury the PDP and give it a decent burial.”

Contrastingly, the south-west leaders who’d initially split the PDP in 1999, and almost wholly excluded the party from Yoruba-dominated old western region of Nigeria, announced no similar grand plan “to kill the PDP for a decent burial.” Hence, the initial 1999 south-west fall-out in the PDP, although serious and electorally costly till now, is totally unlike the present revolt from mostly north-west PDP members who seem viscerally bent on killing the PDP - at least, according to their own declaration.

But despite Nigeria’s local media getting ahead of itself, neither the north-west dissenting members nor those others from Rivers, Kogi and Adamawa, have yet announced any immediate plan to quit the PDP. Rather, their stated plan is simply to “kill the PDP, whilst remaining inside it as catalyst.” Their exiting the PDP for a formal alliance with any of the opposing parties is far-fetched, as current facts stand.

Getting serious to kill the PDP as sole objective, the north-west dissenting members have lately taken one more step. They’ve reportedly filed a lawsuit, oddly in a Lagos High Court, asking for judicial declarations that the PDP has split; that factions have arisen, that elected members are free to move into any other party without losing their posts, and that the putative PDP Chairman, Bamanga Tukur holds office illegally for having been previously expelled without undergoing a re-admission process, before his supposed election as current party chairman.

Not done, the north-west PDP dissidents have expressly sought to overthrow the existing PDP leadership and take over the PDP. They have thus asked the Lagos High court to declare their own self-appointed Chairman, Alhaji Kawu Baraje, as the lawful PDP Chairman - notwithstanding anything in the PDP constitution.

Notwithstanding that INEC itself had witnessed the unanimous election of Alhaji Bamanga Tukur as Chairman at PDP’s penultimate national convention, and approved Bamanga Tukur holding that office, the dissident north-west members still want a judicial declaration overriding all of these facts.

They press on regardless of the precedent of Nigerian courts never to interfere with a political party’s internal affairs - which include the admission by waiver of its own party members.

Local Nigerian media are reporting that the dissident north-west members have also separately delivered a 4-point demand to the PDP Board of Trustees Chairman, 80-year-old Chief Anthony Anenih. One of it is a demand that under no circumstances must President Goodluck Jonathan present himself for PDP primary election in 2015, despite last year’s Abuja court order that President Jonathan is legally entitled under the 1999 Constitution, as amended, to present himself.

This particular demand to bar President Jonathan from contesting the 2015 primary election must have sounded to President Jonathan’s cabinet members like an attempted coup, and likely infuriated them to harden their own position by threatening severe punishment for the dissidents who'd made this particular demand.

Perhaps a dis-proportionate reaction, but the demand itself hardly sounds like a negotiation position, to be sure, because short of asking for Jonathan’s head there’s hardly any benefit in the demand of self-ban to induce President Jonathan’s voluntary acceptance. To the contrary, this self-ban demand grates President Jonathan’s long-stated position.

Since 13th June last year, Ahmed Gulak, a political adviser to President Jonathan had said, “God has given us President Goodluck Jonathan in Nigeria. He is the President of Nigeria today. He is not going to stay in office as President for more than eight (cool years. Nigeria belongs to us all and not to any individual.”

But partly because “The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is an agglomeration of interest groups formed around persons of prominence and power, which are loosely tied together by a desire to remain in office and maintain access to the “national cake” or resources of the Nigerian state,” according to the United States Embassy Charge d’ affaires, Ms. Lisa Piascik, who'd issued this descriptive statement on October 19, 2007, the concept of “zoning” in the PDP Constitution has continually been observed in breach, and usually invoked contradictorily, even by its stalwart defenders.

For instance, earlier this year, on 17th January, 2013, the Adamawa State Governor, Rear Admiral Murtala Nyako, whilst refusing to abide the argument that “zoning” precludes a state governor of PDP and a PDP Chairman from emerging from the same senatorial zone, had said, “There is no provision in the Constitution of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) that says the governor of a state must not come from the same zone with the party chairman. The zoning system in Nigeria is only valid to nominate officials for appointments; not for elective offices. The idea of zoning is a PDP arrangement - which is not above the Constitution or the laws of Nigeria. Zoning is for appointive and not for elected offices.”

With “zoning” being disparately interpreted by each PDP official, the party is now unlikely to ever agree on what “zoning” means; to enable it answer the second question of whose interpretation of “zoning” will then bind the party - especially given that Justice Lawal Gumi who’d pronounced “zoning” as binding on PDP, had also rightly recused himself from declaring what “zoning” and “rotation” mean under article 7.2 [c] of the PDP constitution.
“PDP’s laws keep changing at night,” a diplomat said.

Another celeb is suffering from a life threatening disease, her name is Zara Gretti and she is in dire need of help.

Zara (real name Margaret Mary Oluwatoyin Ejiro Joseph) was in early 2012 diagnosed with Multiple sclerosis after travelling to the US in November 2011.

MS, also known as disseminated sclerosis or encephalomyelitis disseminate is a nervous system disease that affects your brain and spinal cord. It damages the myelin sheath, the material that surrounds and protects your nerve cells. This damage slows down or blocks messages between your brain and your body.

http://www.olofofo9ja.com/2013/08/05/another-nigerian-musician-needs-n4m-to-stay-alive/

Zara says just like everybody she told about the disease, she too was surprised when she learnt she had been diagnosed with the disease. ‘My family had to travel me to the US for better hospitals to fully diagnose and understand what was wrong with me’, she told Nigerian Entertainment Today via Skype in April.

What is surprising is that there were no warnings; Zara says the symptoms began creeping in gradually, starting with muscle weakness and numbness. Right now, Zara is suffering from visual disturbances, trouble with coordination and balance, thinking and memory problems, double vision or blurring of vision, slurred speech, fatigue and dizziness.

The once very active dreadlocked singer has cut her natural braids and says she has been undergoing different treatments including mild chemotherapy in a hospital situated near her residence in Maryland, US.

Bills have been piling up and have to be paid; Zara who seems to be showing a commendable amount of courage has called upon fans and friends to help in raising funds to pay her hospital fees. Taking time to record a mini-video while receiving treatment in the hospital, she finally revealed to the world her current condition.

An online charity fund account has been opened with the target to raise $23,000. So far $12,094 has been raised. Her current manager says a GTBank account will also be opened for local transfers within the country.

‘God is going to do a miracle for me. I’m going to have a huge testimony. Every day I tell him thank you. I am grateful’, Zara says.

Zara according to her manager IK Tripz, will be returning to Nigeria sometime in September 2013. ‘The plan is for her to release her ‘Colours of my Heart’ EP. She will be returning in September too’, IK Tripz told NET over the phone. Zara also released a new song titled ‘Yeah’. The EP will be released under her label ILVIDONLA.

Zara burst into the Nigerian music scene in 2010, when she returned from Maryland, US to pursue a career in Nigeria. She was heavily affiliated with Alapomeji Records and managed by Toni Payne Management. She well known for her popular
single ‘Aboko Ku‘.

Literature / A Paedophile’s Diary - Mohammed Dahiru Aminu by olofofo9ja: 12:27pm On Aug 03, 2013
This is my diary. I am a paedophile, and I won’t deny it. I won’t introduce myself to you as you probably know my name, and might be familiar with my origins. I promise to be as simple as I can in explaining my actions and inactions. But before we go any further, you may however wish to forgive my vulgarity, if you come across it. If you take a stroll into my history you will see that I have always enjoyed the glamour of demonizing the faith that I proclaim to practice; Islam. Some years back when I was in charge of the affairs of my home state in northern Nigeria, I declared the Islamic Sharia law. At the time I did so, I was aware that my declaration of the law was highly problematic.

I knew that I couldn’t declare the Sharia law for Allah’s sake but for the sake of realizing some parochial reasons best known to me. Before Sharia as a law can be declared in any jurisdiction, certain precursors must be set, and these include ensuring that the society is reasonably promising enough for Sharia law to thrive easily; in such a condition that minimises inflicting unnecessary detriments on citizens. I remember a story during the reign of the second caliph of Islam, Umar bin Khattab. It was a story of a woman who came to the caliph and said “I was thirsty and I asked a shepherd to give me water to drink but he refused unless I lay with him so I did.” The caliph then asked Ali bin Abu Talib “what is your view on her?” And Ali replied, “I think she was pushed by necessity.” With Ali’s pronouncement, Umar only gave her a few lashes of the cane and allowed her to go.

In my own case, as the caliph of my state where I declared the Sharia law under problematic circumstances, I turned a blind eye to the fact that my people’s faults could have been driven by necessity knowing that I never did anything to see to the alleviation of their poverty despite the billions of naira I received on a continuous basis from the central government in Abuja. Unlike Umar bin Khattab, I refused to give a “few lashes of the cane” to the poor people under me who without doubt, were pushed by necessity to commit certain crimes. I amputated the hand of one Bello Buba Jangebe for stealing a mere cow; but in our world, we as politicians have stolen more than just a cow, but who could have amputated us? I even wanted to stone two women to death for adultery, unjustifiably. Save for international interventions that came to the rescue of these ladies, I would have succeeded in stoning them to death.

What was important to me at the time was that because I never intended to declare the Sharia law for Allah’s sake but for some self-seeking reasons, I wouldn’t pretend that I didn’t enjoy the limited but tangible national and international fame that my problematic position on Sharia law has afforded me. Part of the fame that I got was that I was treated as a hero of the Islamic faith anytime I travelled to some Muslim countries. I may also have received ample rewards in cash and kind from these Muslim countries that saw me as a champion and true representative of my faith. My tenure as caliph of my state has since been over, and I have moved on with my life; determined to cause more contusion to not only the people of my state, but my country in total.

A few years ago, I went to Egypt where I found a thirteen-year-old girl and married her. People have said that I paid an extravagant sum of US $100,000 to the poor parents of the girl as dowry. I do not intend to refute this. I knew very well that the Egyptian family wouldn’t have problems giving me the hand of their under-aged girl in marriage because they must be aware that as a big man that I am in my country, the circumstance of me becoming their son-in-law is a promise of continuous financial support for their poor family.
Of course I am not a novice when it comes to women; I can’t feign that I do not know how it feels to lay with a woman.

I have children; a conclusive indication that I have been “there” before. But you know sometimes as men we love to diversify our sexuality. We become bored of our women at home who get weary by the day. After years of marriage, the once “firmed-up” endowments loosen. With time we get frustrated as we rapidly loose that satisfying “tight grip” of former times, each time we lay with them. The pleasurable moments of yesteryears are gone. Some amongst us have decided to resign ourselves and be content with the half-measured pleasures that now confront us each time we lay with our partners of the days of old. But for me I couldn’t resign to this fate; hence my Egyptian adventure.

Egyptian ladies are beautiful, no doubt. They have long hairs and noses, fair skins and curved bodies, and most times well endowed especially around the chest area. Beyond that I only chose a thirteen year old as a wife as I am assured that I would not only see her grow these bodily endowments before my very eyes, I would equally enjoy to the fullest, the desires for laying with her over a very long time interval. She is only thirteen; her body would still be durable for many years to come. More importantly, although my marriage to this girl of thirteen is at best shameless, and would raise so many questions, my religion is here to defend me. Whenever I am confronted I will repeat my favourite trite that “history tells us that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) did marry a young girl as well.” I will tell them “therefore I have not contravened any law.” There couldn’t be any religion so magical than this one that I subscribe to; it comes to my aid always, isn’t it?

Progressively more, as I live in a country that is overly sensitive to religious inclinations, the mere mention of the name of my prophet (PBUH) finalises the debate. Only those who want their heads cut off would dare question my actions, or me as I am only being dutiful to the traditions of my religion. But I know I am only fooling myself. Deep in my heart, I am aware that I am doing injustice to my religion and I am being unfair to the noble traditions of the prophet (PBUH); the best of mankind. If I really want to follow the example of the prophet (PBUH), I know that this is not the way to go. If I am being honest to the prophet’s tradition, like the prophet (PBUH), my first wife should have been older than me by at least fifteen years. Like the prophet (PBUH), I should have lived with her alone for at least 25 years or until the end of her life. When she dies, I should then marry a divorcee who has many children. After her, I can, like the prophet (PBUH), marry a virgin, and then follow that with two widows of war.

I understand that the idea of polygamy itself as practiced by the prophet (PBUH) is clearly spelt out in Quran 4:3: “And if ye fear that ye will not deal fairly with the orphans, marry of the women who seem good to you, two, three, or four. And if ye fear that ye will not deal justly then marry one only.” I may not be an expert on Quranic hermeneutics, but I can safely explain this verse without necessarily missing the point. The Quran has given us a permissible maximised limit of marrying between one and four wives as a “quantitative limit”; it, on the other hand, based the context of polygamy on—“qualitative limit”—of orphans. It is therefore clear to me that Allah (SWT) has permitted us men to marry widows as second, third, and fourth wives for the sole reason of providing a home and care for orphans. This was what the prophet (PBUH) did when he married widows. I have never considered marrying widows who have orphaned children. I therefore admit that the polygamy I chose to adhere to is fraught with guilt.

Am I really being honest to the traditions of the prophet (PBUH)? No I am not. For the most part, as someone who is not a prophet, I know that I am being stupid if I do not set boundaries for myself when I follow the ways of the prophet (PBUH). First and foremost he is the prophet (PBUH) I am not. As prophet (PBUH) he was permitted by Allah (SWT) to marry up to nine wives. I am told not to exceed four. The prophet (PBUH) had married Aisha bint Abu Bakr at the age of six, and the marriage was said to have been consummated at the age of nine but without incidence of Vesicovaginal fistula! I am sure that no Vesicovaginal fistula would dare come the way of the prophet’s wife as she is the prophet’s wife! But I am me not a prophet, and my wife is my wife, not a prophet’s wife. She therefore doesn’t have prophetic armour against contracting Vesicovaginal fistula. But then again, like I said, I know all these, but I do not care. I am a paedophile, and I know it!
Politics / Three NUJ Officials Die In Ghastly Road Crash In Ilesa by olofofo9ja: 12:05pm On Aug 03, 2013
Three officials of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) died today in a road crash in Ilesa, Osun State, officials of the union told SaharaReporters.

They are: Adolphous Okonkwo, a former national financial secretary; Kafayat Odunsi, a journalist at the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) in Lagos; and Tunde Ojenike, chairman of Radio Nigeria and Ibadan Network Centre of the NUJ. They were returning to Lagos from a meeting they had in Abuja when the accident occurred.

The accident occurred at about 4pm as the sojourners approached Osu town. A rear tyre of the official’s bus was said to have malfunctioned, and the speeding vehicle somersaulted several times before plunging into the forest.

Officials say there were several injuries. The survivors were first taken to the Osun State General Hospital, Ilesa, but were referred to the Ladoke Akintola Teaching Hospital (LAUTECH), Osogbo where they are being treated in the emergency unit.

Gbenga Opadotun, the chairman of the Oyo State council of the NUJ who was also on the bus, confirmed details of the trip, and that a rear burst, causing the vehicle to veer off the road, somersaulting about eight to nine times before finally crashing into the bush.

“It was a terrible experience because we lost three of our members in the accident. The rest of us involved in the accident survived by the grace of God”, he said.

The chairman of Lagos NUJ, Deji Elumoye, who was also in the crash, is said to be in critical condition.

Celebrities / Goldie's Family, Police May Go After Derenle by olofofo9ja: 2:42pm On Feb 22, 2013
The last good glimpse Nigerians had of Goldie was of her photos on the red carpet of the 55th Grammy Awards, where she appeared as a woman full of life. Her death four days later on Valentine’s Day was one hell of a shock for her fans, friends and family. Her demise evoked a volcano of mixed feeling as many haters took to the social media to further hex the soul of the deceased. In the wake of the Valentine’s Day tragedy, damning reports began to emerge: drugs, hedonism, a little-known marriage, and husband-snatching allegations. Click to continue reading.

Goldie’s untimely death stirred a storm of controversies that cannot simply be wished away. The big question revolves around her marriage. Before her death, if you’d ask showbiz followers about Goldie’s marital status, two out of three responses would be “single.”

The remaining would be “no idea.” It hardly occurred to anyone outside her close circle that the Harvey surname she was bearing was not a stage but her marriage name. Indeed, the Skibobo singer created a cloud of deceit around her marital status. During press conferences, questions about her marital status were curtly cut off. On Facebook, Goldie’s marital status was inconclusive. “Single” but not searching and an occasional vague affirmation that she was “in a relationship,” was all Goldie offered as explanation for her marital status.

Many did not know Goldie wedded let alone, married a white man. Now a certain Andrew Harvey, a Briton, has announced himself, by uploading photos of their wedding that proved beyond doubt the verity of their 2005 wedding. So Goldie was married? Really?

At the BBA Stargame, Goldie was viewed through the lens of a single girl. Against this new background, you begin to wonder, what the hell was a 30-year-old woman with a seven-year-old marriage doing in the wild, whimsical house of the Big Brother Africa, where sex can happen at a short notice? Then you begin to wonder, where was Mr. Andrew Harvey when Goldie was gallivanting with Prezzo? A married Goldie flirted and got cosy with Prezzo, going as far as kissing him. For a married woman, that was so un-African.

Even outside the BBA, her love chess with Prezzo continued. There were strong indications that at the time of her death, the Nigerian pop diva and the Kenyan rapper were still love interests. One doesn’t have to be a Sherlock Holmes to deduce that the marriage was not the made-in-heaven picture Mr. Harvey is now painting. Now Harvey is not making Goldie a saint as much as he is further casting aspersion on her image as a married wife.

Toxic reports in the wake of her shocking departure insinuated that Goldie’s was into drugs. These allegation, debunked by close pals, are just mere conjectures. What is common knowledge was that her friendship with Denrele Edun, the eccentric Channel O presenter, who also happened to be her business partner and co-presenter of their impending reality show, was not ordinary.

Now talking about Denrele, the initial story was that Goldie died in Denrele’s arms. The question is: where, in the house, or on the way to the hospital, because the hospital declared the singer dead on arrival. There had been different accounts about Goldie’s last minutes. The stories, sketchy but riddled with inconsistencies. So who is going to give us a blow-by-blow account of the last minute, including the names of people who were there? One report said her brother was in the house with her. When Entertainment Express visited her apartment at No 30B Ologun Kufere Street Parkview Estate, Ikoyi, Lagos, the following day, the apartment was deserted save for a weeping househelp who went in, packed her two suitcases and fled from the house.

Then you ask again a whole lot of questions: What is the police doing about it? Where are her family members?

The autopsy report indicated that Goldie died of hypertension. But the public needs to know the back story, particularly, the details of the last few minutes before her death. What, where, when, how, and who were the eye-witnesses?

Questions, questions, questions. It is better to let the dead to rest in peace. And in this clime, we do not speak ill of the dead. But this has to be said about the late entertainer: Goldie lied to us. It is no crime for a celebrity to keep her marital life out of the public radar – Onyeka Onwenu did it successfully. A stern I-am-married-but-my-marriage-is-not-a-matter-for-discussion response from Goldie would have been enough. Goldie misinformed us by her utterance, she misled us by her actions. She owed us an apology, even in death.

An insider, who spoke with us recently, said the family of Goldie wants the Police to invite Denrele, for questioning, since he claimed that their hale and hearty daughter died in his arms. “This I can tell you is the family’s position’s. They want Denrele to tell them and the world the circumstances that led to Goldie’s death”, disclosed this insider who does not want his name in print.

UNEMPLOYMENT IN NIGERIA

Rivaled the Nigeria government, epic center of full blown evil, the half truth, they call love.
I have always loved Nigeria, irrespective of the demon, called unemployment. We live in a country where our leaders celebrate papers, mere fiction,as they fail in delivery of a better society. We have been tucked in good promises-a bridge construction to western-world,free-visas to western nations of the world, good foods for every one…if i hear!
unemployment in Nigeria,is an impeccable honor that shows, worth of the then promises,we bestow on them.We Nigerians are aware of this holocaust,creativity-bringing out ones potentials married with packages, will definitely sell anything in the modern world. If i have my chance,i will deny my countenance, right to freedom of expression-pause on consistent word-threading,cause too much continual share of precious words, fares a low audience, all things being equal.
To reason is treason, the crime against ones country. The pathetic and in-convincing strategic positions of our government to harness our needs,a crime they mime,in their reality rhymes, shame came, flame maim government!
The truth is half told, economical with the truth,as regards all their expendable theories on Nigerians,To say they have our interest in mind, they are in best position to say that. They might be trying,as their conscience, they know it,but, what is not scene seen, does not really count.
I have heard about,specially created explosives,like,”Aunt jemina”,”who me” and the new one carved in Nigeria,”no love”,a social carved social explosive that turns a man into a nonentity…no job,no food,no clothe,no shelter-survival punctured!
The clouds is full,we see the tears from the sky…emotional Nigerians.
The ground is over patient-unleashed,burst- out feelings,”ile je yan”devouring ground”.
The truth about this matter, there is a limit to one’s patience in life,an applaud for “Adam Smith”-man is selfish.
We are on the arc of hope, bent on a better Nigeria,we the people, can change, cause, all man shall die-change is constant!
It’s high time,our leaders,woke from a bully slumber,cause,with right minds,thoughts,methods,positive change arrives,a better delivery.
I am not dis-appointed that we get same results, for such a merry resort.we have refused to change from old methods,techniques-a birth of bankrupt delivery.
where do we sit on the bench-mark of history,African Championed,It’s time to forget good will, and re-position our rigorous task, smart ideas, newer skills, new methods-positive change is inevitable.
Nigerians are great people, pupils in the God of this world, with right minds,we will clear the pimples on our face-stains.
Our leaders are ready to give us a good delivery, only with shame on all those supportive beliefs, force out of false character.
It’s time,we packaged our products and services, those potentials in built in us,speaks, high rise for, intellectual and moral strength.
Let’s shame unemployment,so that, better living, speaks and earn us, back our fame,in this game of world politics.
God Bless Nigeria!

LETTER TO PRESIDENT OBAMA!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I greet all my friends and relatives!
I do not intend to be irritating as ''Mr Know all''neither am i pretending to give a force likeness, which is replica to false brightness, cause, this might be precipitating...''he claims he's the best''
I look at the situation of the American Economy and the insinuation is...Tax the rich more than the poor, philosophy of a democrat, stale,Obama shows his support to this.It has rightly being said, which is brightly a step, creation of more utilities, upswing in economic growth, quality in leadership...economic development.
The belief in God and closeness to him, appreciating him, with great thanksgiving, uplift in progress of the nation economy, for those who repudiate this,of what correlation has the service to God centered to the progress of the American economy.i think prophet Elijah or Elsiha told the King,by an exact date, there will be turn around, and cheap products in the country. As the King's guard protest this,in his own mind, the forces of demand and supply, determines the economy.he was cursed that, he will never benefit from such turn-around of the economy.I implore the peoples of America,to draw close to God,as this will not only make the America economy strong, but also,a crying gong, retaining God's own country...blessed nation!
As the nation supports the dream of every child, with developments on dreams of ice-cream Bill Gates...multiple streams of income,as more ''bill gates'' are discover, retrospect to creation of more utilities,as finances derived from taxes from the rich are used to financed such projects...the nation becomes an envious course kiosk, which saves her from chaos curse, good leadership style is the cost, from this cause...your nation will beckon you as an historian in America history.
circumspectly gingerly, the smart work by Americans, woos any international investor,as this showcase her nation...pride of all nations!
For some, who might feel my advice is not needed,''go advise your nation'' Though, this should not cause regret, cause,Christ said''A prophet does not have honor in his house'' this grieves me more,as those who feel this publish, is a rubbish,Christ did most miracles away from his home.writing is freedom,i love democracy.when David saw the way and manner his country was rubbished by Goliath,he told king Saul, with the living God,he can defeat Goliath. When the king disapprove of him,he gave a reason, that he killed the bear with his hand, and a chance was given to explore his God-given talent.
God bless the nation!

With his exclusion from Banky W’s R&BW album, there is little or no evidence left to prove that Wizkid as parted ways with EME, although Banky W insists he is still part of the Segun Demuren owned record company.

Wizkid is about to kick start (has started) his recording company named STAR BOY ENTERTAINMENT. The company will also be in charge of other franchise such as Star Boy Shoes, Star Boy Clothing, Star Boy Cap, Star Boy Management and more.

Wiz mentioned “Star Boy” and “Star Boy Team” repeatedly in the track which is “something”. The release of Wizkid’s Azonto video on Thursday will confirm further if he’s still under EME or not.

Celebrities / Photos: President Jonathan Visits The Dilapidated Police College, ikeja by olofofo9ja: 10:23am On Jan 19, 2013
President Jonathan yesterday afternoon made a surprise visit to the Police College, Ikeja, days after Channels TV exposed the shameful state of the college. The president was actually on his way to an ECOWAS meeting in the Ivory Coast when his plane was diverted to Ikeja.

He immediately proceeded on an inspection tour of the hostels, college kitchen, dining hall and the Officers’ Mess. Then he demanded to know how Channels TV gained access to the college to film the embarrassing condition of the college. No one had an answer for him. He promised to revamp the college after declaring that the documentary by Channels was a smear campaign.
He said:

“This is a calculated attempt to damage the image of this government. The Police College, Ikeja is not the only training institution in Nigeria”

Imagine! How is it a smear campaign?

Celebrities / Exclusive Interview- "Do I Really Think We Are Number One? Not Yet"- Banky W by olofofo9ja: 10:54am On Dec 27, 2012
All good things must come to an end. Our exclusive interview with Banky W marks our end of year feature on Empire Mates Entertainment. The interview with Banky W has been split into three parts because during our discussion with the EME boss, he spoke at length on the future of the label, the artistes, his album and other things. The first part of the interview sets the pace for the last parts. Let the tape roll….

QUESTION-How have you been able to plot the graph that has made EME dominant for the whole year?

Banky W- First and foremost it’s a testament to the kind of artistes that we have. I think we really, really have fantastic artistes and not just because they are on my label but when we were looking for people to sign with we took our time and I think we really selected the right type of artiste to be able to do this kind of thing. Steve Jobs says stay hungry, stay foolish. I think that’s very true in our case. We don’t want to rest on our laurels ever. We want to continue to work hard, we want to live up to or surpass the expectations of fans so every time we come out, every video or every song, every album, every performance we are trying to constantly do better than what we did before and take things a step further and that is the mentality that the company has, the directors have and that’s what we try to instill in the artistes. Don’t get comfortable, stay hungry, keep going, you can do better, don’t celebrate what you’ve done, look for what you’ve done wrong and try to fix that and do better. So I think with all of that…and obviously it’s a testament to the type of fans we have. We have the greatest fans in the world who when we mess up they let us know. They are very critical but they keep us fresh, they challenge us and the expectations they have of us. We constantly try to live up to that and that’s all it is.

QUESTION- How has it been like doubling as a label exec and an artiste?

Banky W- It’s been good. It was always the mindset that I had. It was always my dream to be able to do these things, not just be an artiste. The people that I look up to in the music business worldwide are the people that have done similar things, people like Jay Z, Dr. Dre, Eminem and Diddy who were artistes and great artistes but they were able to parlay that into other ventures and more importantly into other artistes careers, help raise other people to be successful. So it’s not just always about them. Those are really the people I look up to. I have always wanted to do this. It was just a matter of getting successful enough to be able to take on other things. Now that we are here and the business is doing well I am about to put on my artiste’s hat one more time and give another go and that so I am excited about that because I have four new singles out and a new album coming soon.

QUESTION- What’s your album going to be like in terms of sound?

BANKY W- its R&B, the album is called R&BW because you know you have R&B done by BW so it’s R&BW. It’s me just doing my brand of pop R&B music, doing the Naija, Afro R&B thing. I think every album that I have had ever has been similar in the sense that it is R&B but it will have its rap influence, its pop influence but it is still the fundamental R&B ish type of sound. So it is still that sound but it is just fresher and more today. It is just taking things to the next level. The two singles out now are ‘Yes/No’ and ‘Good. Good Loving’. They are doing fantastic. I feel very great about where it is and I am very grateful that fans are still letting me do what I want to do. Hopefully we can make the most out of that this coming year.

QUESTION- Quite a number of people wonder how you’ve been able to step back into the shadows and allow Wizkid be the face of the record label for two years.

BANKY W- For you to be able to run a label you need a certain level of unselfishness that you have to have. Like some artistes are great artistes but they’ve never been able to put anyone else in the forefront because they are a little bit insecure or selfish…I don’t know what the word is. There is a certain mindset that you need to have and the truth of the matter is there’s room for everybody to be successful because one person is successful does not necessarily mean that nobody or you cannot be relevant. I think that Wiz and myself do stuff together but we don’t make the same kind of music fundamentally, the same thing for Wiz and Skales, the same thing for Skales and Shaydee, the same thing for Shaydee and Niyola. Everybody is an individual; everybody has a chance to be successful at what they do. They don’t have to copy somebody else and because that person was doing well it doesn’t mean you can’t. That’s what we explain to our artiste so I took a step back to work on Wiz because I felt like Wiz had extreme great potential and I feel very rewarded because everything that I have dreamt for him has started to come true and he is nowhere at the end of that cycle. He is still on his way up. I am very rewarded in that sense. I know when we met him and the plans we had for him. At the same time I can sit back and work on Skales or Shaydee or even my own music because no two of us are exactly the same. Each person can be relevant and successful and that’s really what it’s about.
QUESTION- EME brought out a lot of materials in 2012. Aren’t you worried about over-exposure?
Banky W- I don’t necessarily believe in (READ MORE) http://www.olofofo9ja.com/2012/12/27/exclusive-interview-with-banky-w/

Celebrities / Toni Payne Reveals Her Future Plan About Relationship by olofofo9ja: 10:28am On Dec 19, 2012
Here’s what Toni said about getting married again.

Do you hope to remarry?

Definitely. Everybody knows that about me that I’m definitely trying to remarry. I’m hopelessly romantic, I believe in the institution of marriage. I grew up in a family and my family was very close. I grew up with family morals. I want that for my kids.

I believe my kids should grow up in a home, not a house. Definitely, I do plan on getting married again, one day, very soon, yes, hopefully. If I find the right guy, I would definitely be doing that.

What lessons have you learnt from that botched relationship?

Now, I’m going to be a little bit more careful. I would watch carefully and instead of just following my heart, I would do so with my brain. When you are younger, you are likely to............ http://www.olofofo9ja.com/2012/12/19/toni-payne-reveals-her-future-plan-about-relationship/
