The Nigerian power sector would soon be like the water sector, where everyone is in charge of their own electricity with the popularity of solar inverters.

Nigerians are not expecting any miracle in the power sector anymore, and unfortunately it would lead to more problems for the GENCOs in the area of revenue generation as fewer people are paying for electricity while the majority are opting for solar inverters.

Besides, I'm interested if u could help give an instance of any professional that has got sponsored under the work visa since like July when the new policy was brought.

Oya sit down there ... I and a lot of people who moved in 2023 as students don't have any sponsorship jobs waiting for us, and we are all in a better visa, which is not even a health and care visa. You can check my 2023 post here to see when I was granted a visa.

Yea, COS might not be as easy as before, but people are still getting it. It's just that you won't hear news about those who get it as much as people who don't. Even people are still being sponsored from Nigeria to work as skilled workers (engineering, accounting and other professional roles).

Early in the morning - between 9 and 10 (UK time) and later in the evening/closing hour - 4-5pm.

NB: This is just what I have noticed as someone who is in the UK and on my 3rd visa, it might not be the same for everyone.

The thing is that UKVI sends decision mails in batches, just like bulk mail, so depending on when your decision was made, it will be added to the mails to be dispatched for the day or the second day after passing through the quality control team that does the final review before you get your notification.
