Afternoon house.
Pls, I need suggestions as what to be giving my lo.
She is 7month now, but all she takes is pap. Just PAP.
I tried mixing the pap with nan2, but I just wasted my money, lo refused it .
I was advised to give cerelac, lo didn't take it either, in fact she vomitted the all her stomach yesterday.
I gave her custard, she took it a lil, she really do not like it as much as pap.
I really wanna start giving her varieties but I'm short of options.
What is notice is DT creamy food irritates her somehow (I might be wrong), but the face she makes anytime I mix baby milk with her pap or custard is like YUCK! .
I would have tried tom-brown for her, but we don't take "JERO" ( I don't know if it's millet or guineacorn) in our house.
Pls house, I need ideas abt what and what to grind together to start feeding her with that won't include "jero" and will Also give her all the vitamins she needs.
And I just got a juicer, what kinda fruit juice should I start giving her and how often should I start juicing fruits for her.

I got the the nasal drop, couldn't gt d spay.
I'm gonna b using d drop, paracetamol once in a wyl and steam bath.
But I'll still lyk to know d Yoruba name of palm kernel oil, so as to get it.

So, up to d second questions mamas.
My LO has Bn on exclusive, but I started giving her d yellow pap abt a week ago and she is doing fine with it.

I only give her once a day, and it is only in the afternoon.

So, my question now is that, I wanna start giving her the pap fully as food now, but I don't know which milk to add with the pap.
I learnt babies can't take our normal milk, I need suggestions on what milk to add to her pap pls.

Sorry ftm. Drs prescribe zinnat when pririton and vitc and other antibiotics doesn't work. Now that your baby has used zinnat and the running nose is still there pls stop all medications. Let it die a natural death and I bet you, in three days it will go. This was what I did and my kids running nose stopped in three days.

However, always dress yourbaby warmly, give warm water to drink.

If. You have palm kernel oil, rub his feet, head and chest with it morning n night, if you don't have use ori (shear butter). It's very good, my kids had the running nose when I stopped using it n since I resumed it. Nothing like it.

My observation though: frequent use of silverbird and menthylatum causes running nose. You might consider stopping it for a while.

Get a saline nasal spray. It comes either as drops or a spray. I feel the spray is easier to use though but some prefer the drops.
If you see the catarrh is dry and thick, use the spray, it helps soften it up and it will be easier to either suck out or just help moisturize inside the nostrils.

You can get olbas oil, ( it is more efficient than plain eucalyptus oil(silverbird)
There is olbas for babies and the normal olbas. The one for babies is much milder. But a few drops on her bib or on her clothes - do not put directly on her skin.


Menthylatum, (, i dont know how strong the one you have is but if it is not a baby grade one, i will suggest you dilute with shea butter and rub on her chest, back and on the soles of her feet.

You can also add a TINY bit with some shea butter and rub ON her nose across the nostrils and from forehead down to the tip of her nose. Please do not put anything apart from the nasal spray in to her nostrils.

You can do a bit of steam inhalation with hot water and a few drops of eucalyptus oil.
Get help from your hubby or someone else to hold a wrapper or bed sheet over you, the baby and the bucket or bowl of hot water whilst doing the steam inhalation.

Or if you have running hot water, sit with your baby in the bathroom( may be on the toilet seat) and run the shower on the hottest setting so the bathroom steams up. The steam she inhales will help ease some of the congestion.

Try and keep her head elevated when she is sleeping it helps the congested feeling. For day time naps, you can let her stay in a bouncer or rocker. For night time, try elevating the 2 front legs of the crib.


Sorry there is no surefire cure, but these will help provide some relief.

Other things you can do is get hand sanitiser and use frequently and for other people that want to carry her either they go wash their hands or they use hand sanitiser. Also Limit access to other older but small children, as they can transmit all sorts of bugs from nursery, school and God knows where else.

@oloriabefe, are u sure ur baby is hasn't developed allegies? The cattarah, is it all day long or as certain times of the day and at certain places? Do u use creche as some children dey carry their own spread to others as baby got it from them? How dust proof is your room? Rugs, Ac vent, adjoining toilets? Although if it were allergies piriton and loratadine could have reduced the symptoms although continuous exposure to d allergies won't ensure total cure of the cattarah. Pending total correct diagnoses, u could apply 2drops of saline water on each blocked nostrils to decongest. Its well, cheers.

I actually stumbled upon this thread while searching for what to use for my 5months 2wks old, she is suffering from catarrh, (congested nose) n her breathing isn't that smooth.

I've Bn to private hospitals, but all to no avail. So I decided I visited general hospital.

I was there, and the doctor prescribed
a) PIRITON
b) PARACETAMOL
c) ORS
d) VIT-C

But even after the medication, I saw no changes.
I had to go back there n these are what they prescribe.
a) ZINNAT
b) PIRITON
c) BRONCHOLYTE (Bromhexine hydrochloride)

But mamas those are to finish tomorrow and my baby is still suffering from this catarrh.

Pls, y'all should pity a first time mother, I don't know what to do again.
I do massage her with hot water.
Never have she bath with cold water.
I don't expose her chest or body at all.
I do switch BTW silverbird n menthylatum when applying on her Fontanelle.
She does not have hair, so she is mostly on cap.
Always on socks.

Note: I stopped giving her vit-c when she started pooing.

I still have questions concerning her meals. But this is more important for me now.

You need to give the products time to work, 2days is rather soon to judge the efficacy of the products, let's watch for 2weeks please.
You can add a Turmeric+Cinammon +honey +lemon mask to your regimen; make a small batch of paste and apply to your face and neck region every other night for 2weeks leave on for 10mins wash off wash off and moisturise.(go easy on the lemon)

The truth is I can't get those stuff in my present location... and I don't know wen I'll be going to town.

Afternoon flakestar, pls...my lovely skin decided to go on vacation earlier this year, and I tried bringing it back by using various product all to no avail.
Instead, I got pimples, black heads, dull and dry skin.
So, I stopped everything, I started using dudu osun with coconut oil.
My skin moisturized thou, my face became manageable with makeup. But the black heads refuse to go. It just keep on multiplying sef.

So, day b4 yest, that was on Thursday, I decided to go to a beauty shop for body cream, I don't wanna look like this during the festive season.

I was given
1) White Care Gold for body and face cream/moisturizer.
2) K Brothers soap for my face.
3) Asantee papaya soap for my body.
4) Pharmaderm tube cream for my pimples and blackhead.

So far, haven't seen any difference... nothing changed at all. I don't know if I'm on the right track or there is any other thing I can add or corrections.
Anything at all to get my yellowish gold, pimples & blackhead free face and body back.

Pls help a sister ooooo.

I highly recommend Dermalmd Even Tone Serum Recently i Got recommend by a friend of mine. I was hesitated at first because this serum works for my friend but might not work for me. Oh well i gave it a try. I only used on my neck because my face is sensitive. After finish dermalmd serum 1 bottle, I can tell my neck is much more brighter and feel soft. My neck was uneven skin tone before compare to now. I bought the second one and used on my face. I use AM and PM. My face was sensitive and dry but now it's soft and feel moisturized all day. Another good thing that I don't have any breakout after using this. All my pimple scar faded away as well.

Evening Chris. I've got a lot of skin problems.
So, I want you to see me as project you wanna work on.
I'm naturally fair, but my bro/sis, only my ear can testify to that now.
I've used a lotta skin care product, wasted a lotta money and at the end of the day, it got worse, in fact worst, cos I was not having neither spot nor pimples b4 I started using all those product, I was only getting dark and dull.
But after various product to get my fairness back, it will actually work for a while then BAM! BREAKOUT.
As at April this year, I got tired and I dropped every other nonsense product, I started using dudu osun and coconut oil only, I would have changed my mind and get another product, but I got pregnant, and I was like lemme just leave my skin like that.
But, I discovered that everything was just stagnant, no improvement whatsoever, pimples, blackspot, whitehead, dark skin (except my ear), dull skin. All are still there, in fact they decided to give me early Christmas gift which is Stretch mark on my (boobs, thigh, arm).
So, my problem now is that, Christmas is fast approaching, and I'll be due in no time, I don't wanna look like this during festive period.
I'm tempted to get all this mixing mixing cream I saw online, but hubby was against it. He said, get a body lotion from a certified company.
I want my fair, yellowish gold, smooth skin back. I've Bn natural for like 6month+ (dudu osun + coconut oil), so I think I've rejuvenate my skin enough.
So pls, prescribe a pocket friendly (I'm not bouyant ooo) beauty regimen for your student.

Hmmm, my most embarrassing moment wasnt funny at all.
Okay, it goes down lyk dz.
On a cool Sunday afternoon, we just got back from church, was having a NYC toast bread with hot chocolate with my fiance and there was a knock on the door.
Alas, my fiancée mum, immediate elder bro and younger sis...was so happy to see them.
I welcomed them in and I was like, what do I offer them?
My sis in-law didn't even waste a minute before pouncing on my portion of toast bread and tea.
My mother in-law was like "iyawo, bami ro amala to fele pelu obe ogunfe( make me amala and goat meat stew).
Naso I run enter kitchen go carry basket and off to the market to get goat meat.
Naso I just dey do " kurukere kurukere insyd kitchen", all sweaty and going from here to there and all that, my mother was like, "Iyawo, well-done" and I'll smile.
My people, while making the stew sha, I refuse to pour the sachet salt insyd its container b4 using it, I just cut the sachet with the hope of pouring in the amount needed only for almost half of the content to pour insyd the stew.
