Levels1: Your father is a dubious Man with a dubious character.
And you took after him honestly speaking if not I expect you to have corrected his greed attitude.
Either your father's elder brother travel for 100years without looking back and coming back with nothing is non of your father's or your business.
If yiur uncle is learned, i expect him to get your dad arrested and charge to court for trying to convert his father's properties to is personal own .
Your uncle is very stupid not to have requested for an account/audit report on the rents and the likes your fraudulent father has been collecting for years. You’re are abusing another person’s dad. Omo u be confirmed fool. So if you’re a judge in real life this is how you judge the case? With mumu human beings like you Nigeria has a long way to go. |

Chrisviboy85: Anyone here that commented saying the 1st son is a thief is really an unreasonable fellow..Firstly it's obvious your father and everyone thought this man was dead that was why he went ahead to renovate all those stuffs..if not someone would have advised him to put a stop or let him know those houses he is renovating might end up not being his..Your father should settle this amicable with him I don't know what tribe are you guys..but if it's IGBO then your dad is fighting a lost battle already..The best is to share those stuffs in peace..because at the end nobody will stand on the side of your dad..The elder has more upper hand than your dad..Na renovation your dad do..the properties were not his all along... Every thought the man was dead or it was a just reasonable thing to do to repair a property that is rottening away. So if you haven’t seen a family member for over 30 years and there’s a property to renovate you will just let the property decay because you don’t think the person is dead. Sorry man but u no too get sense. |

Regie2bless: if u wan hear the truth, if una take dis case to customary court ur uncle go floor ur popsi, sorry to say. Ur father elder brother remains the first fruit of ur grandfather manhood hence is entitled to his inheritance accordingly, the elder can still prevail on him to find ur father something either a plot of land or another house if any. Because ur father was the caretaker of the house when he was away and also ur father stand in his responsibilities all these while he was away, so he owes ur father a great deal and can not collect all the property, he can give some to ur dad That’s not how the law work. Abbeytoy: Kudos to your father for taking care of what your grandfather left behind, but that man has every right to the property and he's the first son, your dad can now rest and let his elder brother take back his rightful space.
They might have to call for a share if necessary as I have seen that that man came back home because he has nowhere else to run to.
Believe me, if he has money, he won't care about all these things but he needs you all at this moment. Another mumu person. Na so im easy. Like if you will do the same. Be like say nairaland na HQ of mumu people. |

BigMamaNaija: OP my son, Nairalanders have told you the truth in one voice (surprisingly): the family house belongs to your uncle. Even if we told you anything different, it wouldn't change anything because we wouldn't be the ones to come handle the issue. We'd have only 'gingered' you wrongly to go on and fight dirty.
The elders in your family and community will handle this. Please, encourage your dad and siblings to cooperate with them in whatever formula they use for the sharing. You have no case. The customary court in your place will stand with your uncle and strike out any case you bring forward.
By the way, where is your empathy for a blood relation? How come your father does not care about what his blood brother must have passed through all these years? Even you who appears to be enlightened! Is there any normal human being that will just choose to cut off ties with his family if things were alright? Mbok be calming down.
Last strength ko, first blood ni.. You’re very stvpid. So it’s the fault of father that the uncle was no where to be found and the estate should have been left rotten? And who told you if they take the case to court the court will strike their case out? See mumu Dey talk of empathy but you saw where the guy said his father has spent money to renovate some part of the estate including building again from scratch. So where is your empathy for the man too for the money he has spent so you mean he should just agree and leave the estate like that without considering the financial implications to him? If you say the father and uncle should find ways to settle amicably that might have make sense but then kobo sense no Dey your empty head |

ezekieloe: Please don't fight with your uncle because of land but rather resolve the issue amicably.
He is entitled to some portion of the land too.
Your father should know better than to you the children that he can't inherit his father's properties alone with you the children.
Please you should give him his share of the land.
It is a pity that he did not live to expectation. God bless you. The issue can be resolved amicably. You are the only person who have spoken sense. |

Omoapena: At least, your father has been enjoying the property since their parent’s demise and I’m pretty sure he’s putting back the money gotten from the property to renovate the house, now that his brother is back, he’s being greedy and wants to be enjoying everything all for himself, this is how blood siblings starts fighting over properties, you’re even in support of your dad fighting his elder brother for what is not his…
They better both reach an agreement and share the property together… or else, their parents will be crying in heaven leaving the property behind when they could have sold it and lavish the money themselves You mean the father should have looked the other way and left the property to rot while waiting for a brother they don’t know is coming back or not or was it the father’s fault the man went AWOL? A lot of you on nairaland have no sense. Just yapping rubbish up and down. |

Doubledaniel: The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has declared interest in joining the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) nationwide strike action which will commence on August 6, 2023.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that t he NLC is embarking on a two-day warning strike over the fuel subsidy removal, naira devaluation, and alleged threats by the Minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike, to demolish properties belonging to workers in the federal capital.
ASUU President, Osedeke Emmanuel said the union will comply with NLC's directive on the planned strike.
"We are members of NLC, affiliates, therefore if they declare a strike, our members will be part of it," Emmanuel told The Whistler Newspaper.
"The ball is in the government's hands. Let them solve the problem, and then there won't be a strike. If NLC decides to go on strike, as an affiliate we don't have any option but to comply."
The over 81 universities that are members of ASUU may be affected by the planned strike. They include 43 federal universities and 38 state universities.

franchasofficia: My candid advice to all Nigerians, especially the married men above 48yrs earning above 1million Naira in Nigeria in secured job or business is this:
If you are a Nigerian man living in Nigeria and earning above 1million monthly, and you are married and above 48yrs, please forget about relocating permanently abroad, it's a very bad move.
Plan your life well in Nigeria, invest wisely in real estate (secured lands mostly) and open trust accounts for your kids.
Plan for your kids to do their masters abroad if you couldn't afford sending them for undergraduate when they get to university education age.
Abandoning all you have worked for years to relocate abroad to start all over again at 48yrs above in an odd job or low paid career is not a good move. Forget all the nonsense talks of doing it for your kids, you should enjoy your own life too cos those kids may end up not remembering you nor Nigeria after you make all the sacrifice of moving them abroad at early age, what then becomes of you at old age?
Forget all these worries we have in Nigeria, a child that will excel will excel, it is our destiny that matters most, environment play second role.
Yes developed countries offer good opportunities for our kids to succeed, but it also makes it easier for your kids to forget you and forget their Nigerian root as they grow older abroad.
Make una de think this thing well oh, Japa is best for single guys below 30yrs and at worst those below 45yrs and those struggling financially in Nigeria with no visible change in sight.
Nigerians love jumping into every bandwagon without thinking it through.
Cryptocurrency trading came every Nigerian became a cryptocurrency trader.
All those HYIPs aka Ponzi came every Nigerian became an investor investing millions to triple their income overnight.
Yahoo came every Nigerian boy and girl automatically became Yahoo boys and girls.
POS business came, every Nigerian turned to POS business owner.
Mini importation came, every Nigerian turned to Mini Importer.
Skit making came, every Nigerian turned to Skit Maker and Content Creator overnight.
Linda Ikeji made money in Blogging, every Nigerian turned to Blogger wanting to hammer like Linda.
There was a time every Nigerian almost turned to kidnappers kidnapping even their own siblings.
Qatar opened door, every Nigerian wan Japa to Qatar without plans.
UAE opened door every Nigerian wanted to Japa to Dubai.
UK the same.
My people make una de use una brain small oh God bless you sir The comments are shocking and horrendous. A 48 year old man should abandon certainty to Jump to an uncertain life. It’s like committing sucide. An Accountant at 48 should go and learn forklifting or settle for care jobs. The absolute state of these comments. Do they really think life anywhere is really that easy? We are too gullible in this country. The man will regret making such move for the rest of his life. |

Family › Re: Genotype Has Kept Some Of Us Single by olril17(m): 8:32pm On Sep 01, 2023 |
Luu40: The topic of genotype is a very complicated one. Don't forget a union between two AS genotypes has only 25% chance of birthing a child with SS, 25% AA and 50% AS.
It's not as bad as many think it is. But family history is also a very important factor, I learned. My elder sister has a child wuth SS genotype (her second kid). She now has four kids - three of which are healthy. The issue sparked alot of trouble at our house that prompted me to do the test myself, and I turned out to be AS. With this result and my little understanding of genetics, I concluded that our parents are both AS. None of my siblings is sick and neither of our parents are sick. We're all healthy.
Upon further investigation, I found out that three of my elder sister's husband relatives died of sickle cell disease, and some are alive battling the disorder.
To sum the story, to this day my mom never believe that there are carriers in our house. She blames the other family of the disease - not understanding the biology behind it.
Family history matters ALOT. It’s not as bad as it is? In mathematics and statistics do you know how high 25 percent is? Even something like 13 percent is considered too high talk more of 25 fucking percent. Family history matters in sickle cell disease?? Your English is good but you write like a dunce. |
