Delay Of Academic Calendar: What you need to know.

Most people must wondering why our Academic Calendar isn't out, well here are a few hints.

1. According to the 2013/2014 Calendar, the 2013/2014 Session officially ends on Thursday October 9th and not on the 19th when we finished exams.
Let's quote the Academic Calendar:

"Senate to Consider Second Semester
Examination Results and End of Session
Thursday, October 9, 2014".

2. Funaab Lecturers want to go on Leave: According to a Lecturer Source, Funaab Lecturers Annual Leave after the end of the Session is 54 Days(Almost Two Months). When we asked a Particular Lecturer when we would be resuming, she said: "I don't know, we are yet to decide on the day will be going for our Leave, we are waiting for ASUU Funaab Chapter to declare it", I.e even the Lecturers don't know when we would be resuming.
When we told her we heard it's December 8, she said that "it will be "illogical, how can the resume on the 8th of Dec and then go for Christmas and New Year Break on the 22nd Of Dec".
The Break should last for almost two weeks, if not more than.

3. Admission Process: Funaab has been dragging the Admission Process for the 2014/2015 Session, two batchs have been released so far and it seems there would be a 3rd Batch for Prospective students with Awaiting results.
Normally, the Funaab we all know do not, if not Consider students with "Waec Awaiting Results" not to talk to of "Neco Awaiting Results".
If this New Batch is released, Funaab would give them at least 3 Weeks for the Deadline of the Payment of the Acceptance Fee.

4. Industrial Training:
The Date Funaab IT students are expected to be through with their Industrial Training is on the Last working Day of November, which is on the 28th of November. This is According to the Master List released by the SIWES Directorate of Funaab.

So in Conclusion we are to expect the Academic Calendar on or After Thursday the 9th of October, when the 2013/2014 Session will end and Senate will be meeting.
We should also note that Freshers are the ones that have the Highest Probability of Resuming this Year, the Resumption of Stalites will be Affected by the Decisions taken by Funaab ASUU Chapter, if to cut it or Maintain the amount of Days of their Leave.

Wednesday Visit to Funaab!!

Obviously i know Prof Waheed [Dvc] buh was relying on a free, fair nd just admission process fr DE [though i knw jambite own is nt plain nd dats in all skul]

Saw him in d morning and waited in d sec office[ my padi] he has a meeting....I used dah to walk around nd to visit Colmas [Dah place is nt trekkable mehn] nd Funaab is neat nd beautiful i must admit....I met wif d Dean introduced mysef nd she welcomed me verywell...in her office i met a pdg parent dah wasnt offered admission [In my mind i was like GBESE! OWO JONO] she was crying nd d woman told them [d parent nd child [to write a letter dah dey will address d issue]

i told her why i came nd showed her your credentials...she kept her head on d table fr lyk 15secs nd rose it up nd said Sir, Admission fr BAM DE was tight dis yr coz of d Fmp nd funaab A'level student [I didnt even bother to ask wat Fmp mean sef] She said only 3[3] ND distinction students were picked nd it was tough because dey had to pick 3 out of numerous Distinction student using d best wif Waec result...

I was crying inside of me,thinking about how u warned me about not interested in [Poly education buh i was impatient]..The woman and her child interrupted with their letter which d Dean was reading while i was trying to Mail you....The Dean shouted at the girl [Shey Love letter lani ki o ko ni?] No address,no heading nothing,didnt dey teach u hw to write a formal letter in ur Sec school [Her mother started crying again]..D dean even said HND applicants were given 200L instead of 3 coz of few space dey have...

No taxi to take me back had to stop a staff on bike to help me...Prof waheed said almost the same thing and that Admission has been concluded and closed buh if there is need to give some [Fed might candidates] he will call me...Yesterday was a bad day it was like d day my brother died [your Uncle]...God knows best

See runs can be anything from using mercenaries in class tests, assignments, sending a senior lecturer/staff to anoda lecturer, paying ur governor to solicit for grades for u, bribing lecturers, cheating in exams etc. O je jara e (wise up). Some or all of these shits happens virtually everywhere. Some will go thru school wiv sheer hard work and dedication others will runs their way thru it, you'll always have a choice. But thinking Funaab is incorruptible or "unrunzable" is naivety of d highest other. To me their shady admission process is just a microcosm of d rot dat is d Nigerian educational system.

U are talkin lyk dis coz u are not in d system..... Do u tink it is only 1 lecturer dat is lecturing a course in funaab..... And do u tink u can slip with all d lecturer in orda 2 av a gud grade

Ogunleke48: Lolzzzz, can he monitor everything? I've seen 30% post utme score (jambite) that was admitted for EPS due to bribe...is that merit? A student chose Accounting and had 51.3% composite was given EPS due to long leg, even Accounting student with 58% composite (well calculated) wasn't admitted talk less of given lower course, I've seen 58% and 59% composite not admitted into COLMAS in which I calculated their composite as well...MERIT ko, MERCY I...no cut off mark, nothing nothing, even some Jambites are intelligent than Predites; money speaking abi? Pre degree has made COLMAS, I don't think Funaab can produce good graduates in that college
