Music/Radio / Telling The Story Of Notorious B I G – A Netflix Original Documentary by Olubukola01(m): 11:30am On Apr 06, 2021
A straight-to-Netflix documentary will explore the life of Notorious B.I.G. (aka Biggie)- Christopher Wallace, a legendary Brooklyn rapper. “Biggie: The Life of Notorious B.I.G.” — produced by his mother Voletta Wallace, and Sean “P. Diddy” Combs and directed by Emmet Malloy. Perhaps, this is the legacy biggie would want or how he would want his story to be told. Biggie’s debut album, ‘Ready to Die‘ is not one to forget anytime soon. Likewise his second and last album, ‘Life After Death‘ was released 16 days after Biggie was killed at 24 in a drive-by shooting incident. Since Biggie’s death, talks about him has mostly been about his death, but this new Netflix Original release focuses on what Wallace accomplished in life.

The documentary will take viewers into Biggie’s world as never before. It captures Biggie’s spirit and essence through interviews with his mother and other family members, close friends as well as the artists that collaborated with him throughout his life. Viewers will hear personal stories about what it was like to grow up in Brooklyn, New York during that period. Christopher’s famous adlibs and quotes are woven throughout the documentary, including Biggie’s original songs and freestyles. “I got a story to tell” offers a broad look at Wallace’s meteoric rise, his evolving psyche, and unrealized ambitions.

Unlike other documentaries on Notorious B I G, this focuses mostly on his life before fame. Biggie is widely hailed as one of the greatest to ever get behind the mic and change the sound of New York City. Since his second and final album, ‘Life After Death’, die-hard rap fans have known that the hip hop icon had a story to tell. Just about anyone has something to say about the legendary Brooklyn rapper, but Netflix’s new Original documentary about Biggie tells how much of his story has gone overlooked for years.

According to Biggie’s mother- This will be the first documentary to focus on the experiences of my son’s life and the art of his music rather than the circumstances of his death. It is a celebration of who he was and where he came from. It shows the sort of in-depth storytelling that Christopher loved. This is how he would have wanted to be remembered.” – Ms. Voletta Wallace (mother of The Notorious B.I.G.).

Catch up with the trailer here;

The story of Wallace doesn’t have to be a tragic ending whenever you remember him. Here’s Netflix bringing his childhood story, emotions and tendencies, and how he rose to be a legend in the game. The documentary features the people who knew Wallace best, including his mother, childhood friends, neighbourhood mentors, a former drug dealer- Micheal Chico Del Vec Abraham, and jazz saxophonist- Donald Harrison.

Interviews with celebrities like Diddy, Faith Evans, Lil Cease, and Mark Pitts also help to contextualize Biggie’s transition from the streets to becoming one of the finest and most popular hip hop act.

Career / Quitting Your Job Does Not Have To Be A Nerve-wracking Decision by Olubukola01(m): 12:26pm On Apr 20, 2017
It is no more news that underemployment seems to be the order of the day in recent times. Millennial employees take up jobs for economic reasons or for the sake of just getting something to do even if the job pays them a salary that does not correspond to their level of education or training. Hence, salary which is supposed to be a take home does not even get home.

Another phenomenon rocking millennial's is working at a job that does not align with one's life dream/purpose for almost the same reason as that of underemployment.

These scenarios is causing a lot of millenials not to perform at their utmost best in the jobs they find themselves in, which inherently affects their productivity and at times causes frustration and resentment at their jobs. However, this should not be, as one is supposed to connect with the job he/she finds himself/herself doing because this is the only way one can grow and get the most out of what he/she is doing.
So what should the person who finds himself/herself in such a situation do to change this condition?

The solution that readily and easily comes to mind is to quit such job for another on if underemployed or switch career to one that aligns more with your dream or even set out to start a business so as to achieve one's life purpose. At least, a wise man once said that we all have the tendency to start a business because even if you work all your life, a time will come when you will need to retire and you will definitely need a source of income to support your living for the rest of your life.

This resolution to quit one's job as fast as it easily comes to mind as the only reasonable way out, taking such decision is a scary one because of the uncertainty that comes with it and for the bold-hearted, taking such decision without giving it adequate thought and proper planning can end up hurting you.

But, this does not have to be the case once there is a step by step guide to follow in thinking through the whole decision of quitting and knowing what to put in place before turning in the resignation letter.

For this reason and more is why I decided to put my thoughts together in a book titled "HOW TO QUIT YOUR 9-5 WITHOUT REGRET: A PRACTICAL GUIDE FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO CHANGE JOB, SWITCH CAREER, OR START A BUSINESS” so as to assist you in your quitting sojourn. Actually, quitting one's job does not have to be a nerve-wracking decision. In my opinion, it should be easy and exciting because you need that exhilarating energy in the next phase of your life once you finally quit.

I drew from my three-time experience of quitting from different jobs and interaction with different millennial employees who has or are about to quit their jobs. I have included in the book what I wish I knew back then while jumping ships, what has worked for individuals who have successfully quit their jobs and what I am currently putting into practice myself.

You will find the book a joyful read and get practical steps on what you need to be doing NOW before you quit or ever think of quitting your job. Hence, the book is for all millennial employees who are unsatisfied with their jobs and will like to get the best out of it and also take the bold step of quitting one day.

Don't take my word for it. Read what those who have had the opportunity to read the book are saying;
The book is an eye-opener. I would have quit my job based on my emotion, which would have led to fatal career mistake and ultimately regret in life.
- Engr. Ibukun Olaoluwa, Civil Engineer|Lagos, Nigeria

The book is short and precise. I had to read it over and over and it kept making sense. It will definitely assist me to make my quitting decision.
- Abd'Ganiu Adeoso (ASG), Medical Sales Rep.|Lagos, Nigeria
How to Quit Your 9 - 5 Without Regret will assist you to prepare well and minimise the unforeseen problem that may arise when you quit your job.
- Moshood Haruna, Research Assistant|Ogbomosho, Nigeria

The book is unique. It presents the subject very clearly. Yes, it is because the writer did not just write but spoke from his rich experience. A very good part of the book -How to Quit Your 9-5 Without Regret is the Chapter on Gratitude. It is helpful in several stages: During the job (before quitting)- it helps.

I think the book - How to Quit Your 9-5 Without Regret is more than a guide to quit a job but a general guide for employees. It will help employees to know their worth/level and if keeping their job is the right path for them to achieve their life goals or if it is best to leave the job.
- Ahmed Tukur, Agriculturist|Abuja, Nigeria

Now, I know you must be salivating and want to get the book right away as someone once reached out to me saying - I need this book right away. Loool.

The book will be all yours starting from 1st May, 2017. It will be published on Amazon.com and Okadabooks.com by God's grace.
To get notified when the book get published, you can send me an email at esarogundade@gmail.com and you will be the first to know once it is up for GRAB.

To your Phenomenal Achievement always!

Events / The Bethel Rock Gospel Festival by Olubukola01(m): 4:40pm On Mar 20, 2017
Gospel Music must pay – Artists are getting very little yet providing so much not just to the church body but to non-Christians as well. We are focused on empowering them by:
Helping plan releases in a way the minimizes piracy Giving competitive percentages to Artists that distribute through 5iveMusic (at least 50% compared to 25% - 30% that most Artists get) Promoting Gospel music content on social media and digital marketing providing live stages outside the church where they can perform to fans and spread the gospel.

We intend to expand this to the pulpit as well – Christian movies, sermons etc.

The purpose of the gospel is to harvest souls. We cannot do that if we do not encourage and inspire those with the talent to focus on their craft while we help them generate revenue.

Gospel Artists need to inspire their audience & engage them – Enjoying and supporting content involves more than just releasing music; Gospel artists need to create value in the content. This involves everything from the way the music is released to the conversations they have about the state of the industry. Their platform can inspire and engage their audience and “superfans” to change the way the consume music. They must teach others how to treat them, which starts by first understanding the value that is in the content created.

Thought Leadership – Most distribution companies are focused only on commercial music, but gospel music has often been relegated to the sidelines. Experience every year tells us the value that can be captured, but we are yet to do so. We want to give it the attention that is required so that we can put a structure in place to generate revenue for the creators of the content.

Create a Unique Audience Experience – Though Gospel music is created to edify and to minister, it can still be done in a way that is fun and engaging. 5iveMusic wants to host live festivals yearly (Bethel Rock) in a neutral environment where youth gather to fellowship and network.
We will have vendors – food, drinks, clothes, jewellery, and good music. This environment also welcomes people that are not Christians which provides a new form of evangelism.

We seek to engage other “commercial entertainers that are Christian and share high moral values like Chidinma, and Waje.

Music/Radio / Jhamal Interview With Kulichang by Olubukola01(m): 11:28pm On Dec 11, 2016
Today we have a talented artist with us here YOU know how we do it, this young man has done himself well with a couple of hit singles like Waya which took over the internet. The Kaduna base artist who’s is unstoppable and still making hit track JHAMAL I know most of you know him with HIS’TERIA lol, well a lot of secret unveil here in full details.

Name : Joshua Davids Ugbana

Stage Name : Jhamal , ( it used to be His’teria though, till I changed it lol).

1. IF I MAY ASK CAN YOU PLEASE TELL US YOUR GENRE OF MUSIC: My genre of music is corely urban and African music , like you have the urban day R&B sound and also am influenced by High-life and Afropop . I basically call it Urban/Afropop music because it incorporates all the different sides of me, the foreign side of me and the more African side of who i am, you would see it in my single, CELEBRATION which came out yesterday and subsequent music in future.

2. WHO INSPIRED OR WHAT INSPIRED YOU INTO DOING MUSIC: For me i know I grew up watching live shows and concerts of people like : Micheal Jackson, Usher , Destiny’s Child, Beyonce and Suuny Neji ..at the age of 8-9 i understood what it takes to create a whole show and production because I grew up with different sets of music styles, in my family we had people who where the hip-hop , Rnb, Pop and African lovers so I was in the middle so music came natural to me but watching the above-mentioned legends made me feel like “That’s what i wanna do for the rest of my life !! ”

3. RELATING TO YOUR PREVIOUS SINGLES WHAT WAS THE FEED BACK FROM YOUR FANS: Hmmm! Basically my music has always been out of the box and the way i write and sing has always been from an emotional spot in my heart like if you hear songs like : Waya , Baba God .. you would get what i mean. So yeah i decided to step out and start writing, i write about everything i see, hear or feel personally or i see . The last song was called Fimi sile which dwelt on an insecure relationship your in , the feedback was very 50/50 because my fans thought i was lost but i loved the feedback. it did depict growth. Once you step out to do things you have never done before , you get a different result,so it was great!

4. SO CAN YOU PLEASE TELL US THE SECRET WHAT UP AND WHAT PLANS DO YOU HAVE ANY SINGLE OR AN ALBUM COMING: Well I just drop a single yesterday and its a song that I am truly proud of, its a song that I really relate to and I believe it’s something my fans can relate to as well also because they have been with me for 5 years, I believe they have grown with me so I feel am part of them and God gave me an adequate team of people that fit my style and personality in business and music. The music created by Whyt Boi which I recently performed when I opened up for Femi Kuti in Abuja Nigeria and the reception on the song was great . Its good to create and enjoy music that you love : So CELEBRATION[https:///tJ1PpY] is the new song ..so go support it. {Haha)…

5. AT WHAT AGE DID YOU START SINGING OR KNOW THIS INDUSTRY IS FOR YOU: I did start singing at 10, that was when I was first pushed to join the choir in the children section at church. so at the age of 10, for that age I was pretty good, I think that was when the music and training and everything for me started off.

6. WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN THE NEXT 10YEARS, DO STILL SEE YOURSELF DOING MUSIC: WOW!! …. I still intend to create music , i love music, i live and breathe music .. and as long as fans and people remain consistent ..i will live my life making music for them and also for myself too.. both career and personal. I hope to be a music mogul …to raise other people and invest in them ..because for me a lot of people paved the way for me so why wouldn’t i want to pass the touch as a leader to help others realize their dreams..? .. i mean i don’t intend to have a record label and all that stuff but i see my self as a great Man, A great Husband , An incredible Father and An incredible Music Mogul.

7. WHAT DO YOU SEE YOURSELF DOING IF YOU WEREN’T DOING MUSIC: I probably would have my own Creative art and fashion line and management company. Again because i enjoy the mantle of being a mentor to raise and help people basically.

8. WHO ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO WORK WITH IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY: Well in Africa I look forward to working with 2face, his music is incredibly incredible Haha … Also Wizkid people don’t realize that He is an incredible singer, Seyi Shay has my heart.. i love her creativity, Yemi Alade, P-sqaure, Asa, King Sunny Ade , Sunny Neji and my Nigerian Music ICON Tiwa Savage . I pick these icons for reasons people will see when i get the platform to create music with them.

9. WHAT ADVICE DO YOU HAVE TO GIVE TO UPCOMING ARTIST LIKE YOU: First of all Number 1 is PRAY and BELIEVE: Secondly, Anyone who wants to go into the music industry for fame and money, i would advice to go find another occupation because aside the glamour of the music, it is also called the music business and i don’t think people realize why it’s called the music business for a reason and that people come into it with a degree or an MBA or so .. so learn the business well , talent is great but skill is what we want to pay for. Also even then you do your best and it still does not work out, keep at it and always BELIEVE : That’s like the water to your seed ( The Talent ). So get a mentor to guide you, for me the person that guided me was Mr. Audu Makori. Also you can’t do it all alone, get a team of people to work with, be humble enough to learn and at the same time build up SELF-RESPECT.

OKAY LET’S GET PERSONAL WHO YOUR READY FOR THIS ONE LOL

10. SO ARE YOU IN A RELATIONSHIP NOW: Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm………………!!!!!!! Am gonna leave it like this (HAHAHAHAHAHA)…..Am in a great place with the music by the way ……………(Hahaha) right now it’s CELEBRATION EVERYDAY……!!!! (HAHA).

THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME..

Thank you! My pleasure!!

I can't wait to deal with you.

Why would you say that? Can you give an example of any of our leader's brethren suffering from the actions of their father? No, they don't always suffer but rather live a comfortable live out the country for some years and later come back home to rule us and you and I would still allow and support them.

I think we all fail to realize that these people are birds of the same feather. They can do and undo, and precise politics don't have a guideline or procedure in Nigeria. Anybody (Politician) can just wake up tomorrow and decide to do whatever that pleases him at the detriment of the masses. A lot of them have done it and succeeded but yet still have our undying loyalty.

I don't think we should be a hardcore fan of these people irrespective of religion, region or ethnicity. What we need is a wake up call, a mindset to do things right when it seem to be going wrong or done wrong by our leaders.

If this man decides to do so today, he would succeed and even have our praise.

It is shameful.

Fuel Scarcity: Give me Jonathan’s ‘corruption’

I am trying to keep quiet not to say any word on this matter as it is beginning to look like I have not really seen any positives in this governmental change that we have saddled ourselves with. But as I set out this morning and see the suffering that Nigerians are enduring to eke out a living my anger brims over.
People don’t need this fuel scarcity, people need to be able to move around and I suspect that we are being taken for granted with the seeming indecision of this government in everything especially as it affects this sector. What is the government position on subsidy, on refineries on the privatization or otherwise of NNPC.
Whatever they decide to do, they should just give us fuel. People are dying, people can’t seem to get themselves together and I want to suspect, are beginning to ask themselves if there is any real change in their circumstances.
Boko Haram has killed many more people, more people have lost their jobs, still no power, more infighting in the National Assembly, everybody is probing everybody and now no fuel. Who is in control, where is the clarity, who is the arrowhead.
All we get to hear are sound bites with no real action. Discipline, incorruptibility, probes; all these will not put food on the table of the poor man. This N5,000 they want to pay, how many litres of fuel will it buy at black market prices. We need to be Nigerians once again. I swear we are beginning to miss the Jonathan corruption laden era.
At least those times, there was liquidity. The real estate, entertainments, service and ICT sectors witnessed a boom from their ‘corruption’. We became the biggest economy in Africa, inflation was single digit, jobs in the service sector were being created everyday and FDIs were rushing in.
Today with no corruption, the tap is dry. All we get is policy inertia and constructing fines on employers of labour that if not carefully handled will compound the unemployment situation and drive down further economic indices.
They say they need more time to fix the rot in the economy, that is not correct. Murtala Mohammed in six months showed a clear direction and focus and that is why till date he is being worshipped as a hero. OBJ with all his drama in six months showed clearly the direction of his government which enabled planning and business strategic direction.

Now, we have just appointed ministers after six months, we are pushing strong man tactics which is an anachronism in today’s world, court processes are being flouted and ignored, a fluid reward system in appointments even better than the much maligned Jonathan regime is in place, with some funny stalwarts being given strategic positions to do what,
if you ask me nothing.
We need to be very clear as to where we are going as a nation. We need to be focused and open up the economy. This thing is so simple that I am almost beside myself in anger as to why this government cannot see it. The solution is not old fashioned caveman total control of everything. This leads to more red tape, key man risk, hero worship and will literarily kill the economy. It’s stupid to be talking about national carrier at this stage, funny to be talking about the Presidency controlling the oil industry. It should be freed up, reduce government interference and watch it expand and grow like the telecommunications industry.
Focus should now be on gas. Licenses in that area should be awarded and supported as an alternative source of energy and income earner. The Bank of Industry should be further empowered and made to support SMEs, Soft long tenured loans guaranteed by the Federal Government be given to serious minded small scale business people with a caveat to employ at least ten people.
Keep the stupid N5,000. It will only give people like Systemspec and the banks more money through commissions on transactions. Aggregate the total funds and use it on infrastructure at the local government level, health and even Nollywood which has shown the capacity that it can employ and cater for millions of Nigerians both directly and indirectly.
I am screaming at this point, can’t you guys see it, it’s so out there.. Give us fuel, abeg

Politics / Review… Alleged N25b TSA Scam: Another Puzzling Debate by Olubukola01(m): 1:35pm On Nov 18, 2015
To say the Treasury Single Account (TSA) policy of the federal government has generated much controversy as well as apprehension is clearly stating the obvious.
If feelers out there are anything to go by, it may be correct to say that the TSA scheme is facing its greatest challenge ever.
At issue is that some smart alecs are alleged to have profited so much to the tune of N25b at the expense of the country.
How the alleged scam was uncovered
Senator Dino Melaye (Kogi West) had last Tuesday, alleged on the floor of the Senate that SystemSpecs, the owner company of Remita, the e-payment and e-collection software deployed by the Federal Government to drive the implementation of the (TSA), was made about N25bn in one day for facilitating the compliance by the Ministries and Departmental Agencies(MDAs) with the TSA directive.
Melaye accused those he described as “financial scavengers and economic cankerworms” of trying to sabotage the anti-corruption war of the Buhari administration by mismanaging the TSA.
Expectedly, Senate President Bukola Saraki, promptly responded to the alarm by mandating a number of Senate’s committees to probe the alleged payment of N25 billion to Remita from the sum of N2.5trn allegedly mopped up from loose government accounts on September 15.
A rebuttal
But the company, however, dismissed the allegation of wrongdoing against it as a ploy to frustrate the scheme.
In a letter to President Muhammadu Buhari, the company requested the government to wade in so as to resolve the matter.
Picking holes in Melaye’s claims, a senior executive at SystemSpecs, who asked not to be named said the e-collection company was never paid the said sum being bandied in the media by those he described as “traducers.”
According to the official, “Contrary to the impression that has been created in the media that the treasury single account project began with the Buhari administration, the project has been on since 2012 when the Jonathan administration appointed us as the e-collection agent, using Remita, the software we designed for that purpose.”
Pressed further, he said: “The only difference is that most of the government agencies did not comply with the directive until the Buhari administration came on board because the Jonathan government did not demonstrate the political will to enforce it.
“President Buhari came and gave the government agencies a time frame within which they must comply with the directive or get penalised. That is why we were able to mop up about N2.5 trillion on deadline day.”
The top executive said that at the commencement of the project in May 2012, it was agreed that one per cent of the sums collected from the various government ministries, departments and agencies would be deducted and shared between Systemspecs, the affected banks and the CBN in ratios of .5 %, .4% and .1% respectively.
“That was how we were able to make a little over N3 billion, which we returned to the CBN as soon as we received a directive from the CBN Governor sometime in August that we should refund all TSA e-collection fees earned to date and suspend all charges on the platform.
“You can therefore imagine how shocked we were to hear Senator Melaye say that we were making N25 billion every day from the implementation of TSA. How on earth can that be possible?
“Ironically, the banks from whom the collections were made did not even know that they were making a lot of money from the exercise.
“It was when we received the directive to return the deductions we had made and their accounts were also debited that they realised that they had been making a lot of money from the exercise.”
In its letter to President Buhari, signed by the Managing Director of SystemSpecs, Mr. John Obaro, the company urged him to take measures that would ensure that the Federal Government does not play into the hands of some forces that are determined to frustrate the TSA initiative.

NLC riot act
Reacting to media reports that the TSA scheme was being mis-applied, President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Ayuba Wabba has said the Congress will not accept the use of consultants for revenue collection for the government, saying the revenue collection process in the country should rather be strengthened with proper legislation
Speaking at a public lecture on good governance with special focus on the National Assembly, Comrade Wabba said the allegations of payment of about N25 billion to consultants operating the Treasury Single Account runs contrary to the principles of good governance and transparency.
He said the Congress however does not believe the allegation was true, asking the government to immediately put the matter to rest by either confirming or denying it.
The CBN has since said it was not aware of such payment to consultants.
Wabba said “If the allegation is true, it runs counter to the principle of good governance and transparency because here we are in an economy that is actually craving for resources to be able to drive development”.
Wabba’s counterpart at the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria, Comrade Boboi Kaigama has also warned that the TUC would not take it lightly should the allegations be true that few Nigerians were involved in the TSA scam.
As the controversy over the payment of TSA rages, it is certain that the last has not been heard on this matter, as allegation, and counter allegations have been thrown around. But in all Nigerians await the answers, hoping like virtually every controversy in the country involving probe of large sums of money, it would not be swept into under the carpet.

Politics / Inside Details Of Ayade, Emmanuel’s Plots To Dump PDP by Olubukola01(m): 4:08pm On Nov 17, 2015
Speculations are rife that Cross Rivers State governor, Ben Ayade, and his Akwa Ibom State counterpart, Udom Emmanuel may defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) any moment from now.
Though Ayade’s Chief Press Secretary, Christian Ita, said that the speculation is untrue, checks revealed that his boss may dump the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) latest by the first quarter of 2016.
Sources in the Government House confided that Ayade has become uncomfortable in the PDP and considers having federal structure fundamental to achieving his gigantic projects for the state.
His unease in the PDP, according to investigations, is not unconnected with the suffocating influence of his predecessor and benefactor, Liyel Imoke.
Imoke, it was learnt, wields enormous influence that Ayade is uncomfortable with.
A source in his team said: “The governor is unhappy with the fence around him, especially in the House of Assembly that is filled with Imoke’s boys.
“He wants to break away and be his own man. His predecessor is still having his hands in so many pies that the governor feels he just has to break off to succeed with his mandate.”

The desire to break away, it was gathered, has become more and more apparent in Cross Rivers PDP with chieftains alarmed that Ayade is dislodging Imoke’ legacies with ease.
The governor has altered the tax regime in the state said to be a major honey pie for Imoke and disbanded the anti-forestation task force put in place by his predecessor.
He has also sidelined the PDP hierarchy in the state with many chieftains complaining they are never carried along in key policy matters.
Ayade is said to be prepared to fight off Imoke’s influence, and sees an alignment with federal might as critical to this.
A source confided: “He wants Imoke off his back so that he can deliver good governance. The predecessor is a constant distraction that he cannot afford.”
The governor himself once said: “I am not a politician. Even if I do one term and go back with my parents’ name intact, I am okay.”
To effectively be his own man, Ayade believes the federal structure is his surest bet since the House of Assembly is littered with Imoke’s men.
His desire matches the disposition of the APC, which is seeking for an inroad to the South-South, which is completely in the grip of the PDP.
Only Edo State has an APC governor, leaving the ruling party seriously weakened in the oil-rich region.
The APC, according to a national officer, who craved anonymity, considers having a huge presence in the South-South fundamental to becoming a truly national party.
“We are not asking to become a one-party nation. No, far from it. But the truth is we need at least two or three South-South states in our kitty.
“The oil money in the states can do well to fund our political structure, even in poorer states.”
Aside from putting Imoke in his place, Ayade’s closest aides also confided that the governor has huge projects that will require federal attention and support to fly.
Some of these projects include the new seaport and the 240km superhighway that President Muhammadu Buhari flagged off after much persuasion.
Buhari was initially indisposed to commissioning the project especially in an opposition party but had a change of mind after party stalwarts pointed out the political calculations involved.
“If the governor can win the attention and support of the federal government, Cross Rivers will be almost a paradise.
“He will have the political support and financial resources to fund his projects. He will become the darling governor of the South-South,” a Government House source hinted.
The governor is said to be mindful of the fact that the APC needs a poster boy in the region and is willing to step into the shoes.
Already, major political opponents of Imoke have defected to the APC in the state. They are said to be preparing the grounds for the eventual welcome of the governor into their fold.
Political heavyweights that have joined the APC in Cross Rivers are immediate former Senate Leader, Victor Ndoma- Egba; former Governor Donald Duke; governorship candidate, Prince Goddy Agba and Chief Ernest Irek.
Ayade, it was gathered, believes with such formidable men and their supporters behind him, he will be able to fight away Imoke’s structure in the state.
But his CPS, Ita, vehemently denied the speculation.
He said: “There is no such thing like that. It is a mere rumour and speculation that you should not waste time dealing with.”
Like Ayade, Like Emmanuel

In neighbouring Akwa-Ibom, Governor Udom Emmanuel is also said to be having a running battle with his predecessor Godswill Akpabio.
Akpabio, the Senate Minority Leader, has started losing out in the power play less than six months after he installed Emmanuel.

This reality, it was gathered, was why he fought tooth and nail to get the minority leadership to remain relevant politically.
Emmanuel not only rejected the former governor’s elder brother, Sir Emem Akpabio as Secretary to the State Government but also demolished the petrol station belonging to Prince Ukong Akpabio, also a brother to the ex-governor.
The station was between the Power Chapel Church and Sammies Eatery along Nnamba Road, Uyo.
Contrary to Akpabio’s instruction, Emmanuel also supported Aniekan Uko from Ibesikpo Asutan Constituency to emerge as Speaker.
The former governor’s nominee for the post was Ime Okon of Ibiono Ibom Constituency.
Emmanuel is also said to be furious that Akpabio left him a huge debt of N72billion and is prepared to eject the former governor from a guest house he allocated to himself in the Government House.
Knowing his predecessor has a deep pocket to prosecute political battles, Emmanuel is said to be backing on federal might to scale through.
He is believed to be willing to dump the PDP at the shortest possible notice because of political expediency.
The two governors move, it will be a major ‘coup’ for the APC, which is said to be obsessed with the idea of having significant presence in the South-South region.
Both governors are said to be fascinated by the project and have been in constant touch with APC’s top shots to actualise the dream.
