Please can a representative collect on behalf of two people.
My parents' applications are now ready for ccollection and I am wondering if my sister based in Lagos can collect on their behalf or do they necessarily have to go in person?
Their appointment at Ikeja was booked as a group so if they have to go in person, can either one of them (mum or dad) collect on behalf of the two of them?
They are not based in Lagos.

A quick update
My parents passports are now ready for collection. They submitted since 19th of June. The application was for them to be present at my graduation (which has passed now).
I pray they are granted the visa, fingers crossed

Please anyone, what's the best way to contact UKVI?

Oluebbie:
Please how do I contact UKVI (either by email or phone)? I applied for my parents to come for my graduation ( which I have had to deffer since no response). They went for their appointment on the 19th of June and I received mail.on the 2nd of July that it was still under consideration. Since then I have been tracking and the status has not changed.
Please what's the best line of action?

The applicant is sending a letter and I am also doing a supporting letter.
Are they to be addressed differently?How?
@ekpotek

ekpotek:

Are you the applicant? Or do you wish to send a supporting letter for someone else?

@justwise @ekpotek
I need to know what else will be required for my parents to take with them for their appointment.
I have scanned and sent the following to them by email so they print it out
Bank statements, Invitation to Graduation from Uni, Tenancy agreement/Council Tax, and their filled application form.
On their part they have C of O of their house/land, bank statements, pension card, letter of responsibility from their church.
Do they need pasport photographs? Their appointment is in Ikeja.
Thanks for your response

@justwise @ekpotek
I have made the online application for parents from UK.
Can I scan the supporting documents ( payslip, bank statement , grad invitation from Uni and tenancy agreement ) and send together with completed application via email instead of sending it down via DHL?
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by Oluebbie: 10:59am On Jun 08, 2017
@ekpotek thanks for the response.
I am making the application online, can I make the two applications from same account or do I need to create a seperate account with another email to make the second application

ekpotek:

VI center as the crowd is small, but you need to pay to use the VI center. Ikeja center is non-paying fee center but getting appointment may be difficult.

@ekpotek @justwise can you please clarify?
I need to submit the application today
[qquote author=Oluebbie post=57292700]I am applying online for my aged parents to come for my graduation.
Please which of the application centres ( VI or Ikeja) will be preferable or faster?

If you apply for a 6 month visa, stating that she is intending to stay for six months you will be rejected.
They will not believe that is just a visit to see grandchild.

Thanks for your quick response. Should we just omit duration of her stay in the letter? what do you suggest?

Yes you can apply from the UK as though you are you MIL, my husband's uncle lives in the UK and he filled out his aunts applications from the UK and also paid for it online, then the aunt printed from Nigeria and signed it ...done, hes done this for past few years, this is how I am doing my husbands spouse visa smiley

hope this helps

Thanks so much. This definitely helped. One quick question, we want her to stay for the period of her visa(6 months). should we write that she is staying for 6 months in invitation letter or a shorter period? Since we said she is just coming to see and welcome her new grandchild.

Hi @Justwise, I need a further clarification on the response you gave on my post in the previous thread.

I am a PhD student in UK with hubby here also on depandant visa but working.

We are making an application for my mother-in-law to visit due to us expecting a baby soon.

She is a retiree so the financial implication is on us (myself and hubby).

We will be presenting payslips and 6 months bank statement for hubby and myself.

Can we make the application from here using the online portal and also make payment from here or does it have to be made from Nigeria ?

justwise:

Both of you, invite her as a couple and that need to be stated in the invitation letter too. You can attach your bank statement and that of your hubby.

Thanks for that. Do have any idea of what they expect to see in the bank statement (how many months statement, how much should be in the account?)

One more thing can we make the application online from here?

Hello everyone, I am back again with my question.
I am presently a PhD student (3rd year) with my husband here (working on dependant visa).
We have a four year old and presently expecting a baby.
We want to apply for a visitor's visa for my mum-in-law towards the delivery of the baby.
I work few hours but my husband works and earns more.
I need to clarify two things, can I be the one inviting her (been a student) and present my husband's bank details?
or can I present my bank details (my husband intends to be putting his income in it now so as to run it)?
or better still should my hubby just be the one inviting her ?
I just want to know how to go about it.

Is your mum receiving pension?

Well her pension hasn't been paid in almost 6 months now.
The state government is still owning her/them.

Do not mention "helping with baby" in her application.
They might treat it as un-paid work and reject her.

Thanks for pointing that out. We could have made that mistake unintentionally.
How would you suggest we put it?

Goodday house, I must say welldone to everyone who has been of help to others on the forum.

I need some proper guidance .

I am a pregnant PhD student in UK in my third year already.
My husband is here with me with our 3 year old son.
We intend to invite my mum-in-law on arrival on the baby to ease things.
The baby is due towards the end of the year.
My mum-in-law doesn't have a travel history and she is a retired civil servant.
Please what are the documents or things we need to put in place for her application?
Please I will appreciate detailed information as we are clueless about this.
