To correct. The player in questioned already missed the Zimbabwe game so he served his suspension already. SA are just looking for lame excuses. The rule of the game must prevail. Hopefully we win today. Then we pepper them with their mistake!!! |

Dennis Is Not Osimhen But He Can Do A Job For Nigeria Tobie 2 days ago·5 min read It was the 97th minute and he had just been shown a yellow card but he didn’t care too much and you couldn’t really blame him this time, nor would any Watford fan who was watching. It was a price too little to pay for how brilliant Emmanuel Dennis had been for 90 minutes and more. He was booked for celebrating excessively but who wouldn’t? Not after an excellent performance that culminated when he burst past Diogo Dalot a minute before and fired past David De Gea to earn Watford a deserved 4–1 win. The ball had just hit the net when Dennis took off his shirt in front of a sorry De Gea. Sprinting towards the corner flag, he flung his black GPS tracking vest before sliding on his knees across the turf. Josh King, whose goal he had assisted met him and held his face with both hands. Still shirtless, Dennis performed briefly in front of the home fans. Minutes later, his coach Claudio Ranieri, with both arms spread was moving towards him, he was doing the same too and they locked in an embrace. Adekunle Gold stood in the stands, gloomy but watched on as his compatriot rounded off his team’s misery. Not just him, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wore an awkward smile, his time at Old Trafford was also rounding off, too. Dennis was bouncing and he was enjoying it but life hadn’t always been this way. Dennis Emmanuel was sensational against Manchester United After a dominant performance in the UEFA Champions League game in 2019, where he scored a brace against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu and imitated Cristiano Ronaldo’s popular celebration two seasons ago, things had soon started to go awry for the 21-year old at the time. “The last year and a half weren’t easy for me,” Dennis admitted before joining FC Koln on loan in January. But life was going to become even more difficult in Germany. After nine appearances, including just six starts and no goals, Koln had begun to regret bringing him to the Bundesliga. “This was a bad transfer, that is my responsibility,” Horst Heldt admitted. Heldt was the sporting director at Koln. Indeed, when Watford announced the signing of Dennis, Goal.com published an article with the headline, “Why have Watford signed controversial forward?” Yet, at this time, Dennis has become the toast of Watford. He has scored four goals and assisted five more in 11 games and, more importantly, there are no problems with his attitude. Dennis is one of the many Nigerian forwards excelling in Europe. The Africa Cup of Nations begins in two months and he would expect that his performances can earn him a call-up for the tournament in Cameroon. His door to the National team had been mostly shut by Gernot Rohr. But now, the German coach appears to have been shown the door by his employers. Beyond making the team, is Dennis good enough to start? On Sunday, Victor Osimhen was taken off after 55 minutes by Luciano Spalleti after a clash of heads with Inter Milan’s Milan Skriniar. He left the pitch with a swollen eye and a black patch. His cheekbone looked fragile, too. Osimhen’s club had announced that he had left the pitch straight to the hospital for checks and scans. Then, they said he would need to undergo surgery. Many Nigerians had begun to fear the worst, and validly too. Osimhen had almost single-handedly helped Nigeria qualify for the World Cup playoffs, scoring four goals out of nine. Not just the goals, but he appeared the most passionate Nigerian player in those matches. On Tuesday, Napoli announced again that the surgery was successful but he would be out for at least three months. Aha! Every fear had now been confirmed. Osimhen is effectively out of the Nations Cup. What happens to the country’s hopes of winning a fourth title? There are Nigerian forwards in outstanding form at this moment but none has proven to be close in quality to Osimhen. Not many have been tried, to be fair. Even then, there is the country’s peculiar problem of a lack of inventive midfielders- with the ability to create chances. And yet, if there is any player with a style similar to Osimhen’s, it’s Dennis. Dennis had admitted to being able to play “anywhere in a front three” and he has continuously shown that- at Club Brugge and Watford- especially this season. At times, he has switched positions with teammates, Ismaila Sarr and Josh King. It’s not just the goals that stand Osimhen out, but the work rate- the willingness to chase lost causes tenaciously and grapple for crumbs. This is a quality Dennis shares richly with Osimhen. While his late goal against Manchester United last Saturday from a hopeful Foster goal kick proved just that, Dennis has recorded an average of 22.68 pressures this season, reminding you of a certain Roberto Firmino. The 24-year-old gives plenty in defence and his tackle rate of 2 per 90 minutes is also a testament. Dennis also wins a very good percentage of his aerial duels, winning at least 2.26 per 90 minutes- more than Osimhen’s 1.67. Dennis has shown to be able to link perfectly with teammates. On his Watford debut, he struck a fine partnership with Sarr. “I know the combination (with Sarr) will be very important for me if I am going to be the № 9 for the team, so I am really happy with the combination,” Dennis said. And against Manchester United, he combined effectively with King. Dennis adds an extra quality of being able to go past players in tight spaces. He can go past players on the inside and on the outside. So far, this season, he has completed 2.07 dribbles per 90 in the Premier League. And while Osimhen edges him out considerably in shooting and accuracy, Dennis’ ability to comfortably retain possession, bring teammates into the play and create chances makes him a competent deputy. The modern Nigerian forward has to be able to adapt. There are no meals to be served on a platter. And that, probably, makes Dennis special and important to the Super Eagles, now more than ever. Dennis can play football and Dennis can score. Do you doubt it? Just ask Solskjaer. |
komekn:Using this nonsense Analogy. Same Emmanuel Dennis flopped in the Bundesliga last season an now he's performing in the EPL. I guess this makes the Bundesliga more competitive than the EPL?? |

Danielnino00:I just hope they can still pull through. How many can qualify?? |
andrewbaba44:Na him way ![]() |
komekn:I'm sure these guys gives Komekn nightmares ![]() |
nelszx:Oga he's right. 532 would become 352 when the team attacks

Danielnino00:Like we didn't see Moses in Turkey, even in Russia he hasn't had a single goal contribution in the league this season...Lmao |
Ndidi!!! |
AndSunGorilla:Stop eet ![]() |
jihday:Yeah. My thoughts about him too |
andrewbaba44:That's because our coach is a dunce |
FIFApresident1:And your point is?? |
jihday:He had a club record number of points ![]() |
Englandboy:Lmao Source: Viewing Center |
elyte89:Lmao As far as I'm concerned Dennis, Ejuke and Moses Simon has had better stats than him this season playing on the wings. So what is obvious in what you stated?? Same Vicmo has Zero goals and Assist in the Russian league so far this season. Lmao |
FIFApresident1:If Ivorians like they should not hype their own that's their problem. Luke Shaw had a fluke season and the English press praised him to high heavens, and the world didn't end. For me I go hype any Naija player wey i see ![]() |
elyte89:Lmao So we should goan beg him out of retirement too ![]() |
Subzero047:Like dyg. Made City made PSG look like a team of Secondary school boys |
forgiveness:Confirmed |
Barryseal:Sneaked in this two like we won't notice ![]() |
jihday:Exactly. Even if Amaju said he shouldn't drop them (which I doubt tho. It's not like the players in question are indispensable. He hardly uses Awaziem and Omeruo and Kelz was out of the team for a while), the fact that Rohr started one and gave the other game time shows he himself isn't ready to stamp authority. See what Milo did to Muntari in 2010. Integral player for that matter o |
cromz:With which money?? Una still dey find money terminate una Dey Franco-German coach ![]() |
They Should give us José Pekerman
|
Icon79:Remove Van Gaal pls |
jihday:It's cute until you concede those two goals and scoring just one talkless of 4 becomes an issue ![]() |
Gernot Rohr bids his senior players farewell Gernot Rohr bids his senior players farewell Fisayo Dairo November 19, 2021 The soon-to-be-disengaged head coach of Nigeria’s Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr has apparently said his farewell to his senior players, www.aclsports.com can report. The future of the 68-year old German coach is up in the air after a series of lacklustre performances by his players in the past couple of months. This reached a crescendo on Tuesday night when Nigeria narrowly avoided defeat against Cape Verde in their final group game in the race to qualifying for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Since the end of that 1-1 draw in Lagos, there have been reports indicating that Rohr’s reign as Nigeria head coach might be over and in spite of the Federation half-heartedly denying the news on Thursday, another dimension came into it that evening. www.aclsports.com has authoritatively scooped that Rohr has bade farewell to his valued key players, informing them of the stance by Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to relieve him of his duties. Although the process is not yet complete according to the former Gabon national team head coach, it was now safe for him to thank “his boys” for their support and cooperation while he was in charge of the Super Eagles. Rohr and his employers are expected to officially confirm the parting of ways in the coming days once all legal details are sorted. A replacement is also expected to be named by the Federation as soon as the news is made official. Nigeria is among twenty-four African countries that will participate at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations to be hosted by Cameroon in January and have been drawn against Egypt, Sudan and Guinea-Bissau in Group D. The Eagles will also know their foes in the final round of qualification for Qatar 2022 when the draws are conducted on December 18, 2021. |
Oasis001:Oops just checked.. My bad. Apparently United's strength was in defense that year, De Gea winning the Golden Glove and conceding just 28 goals But still I wouldn't classify Mourinho as an ultra defensive coach. We've seen Mou's team dominate teams they are expected to beat. With Rohr we can't even String 4 passes together ![]() |
