Hi KaptainAfrika... Thanks for keeping intouch.

You know why i was worried or will I say keen to know why the word "Ban" even came up in your post?

Firstly, I didn't have any fake stamp or what so ever in my passport...for them to ban me.
Secondly, the agent asked me to claim that I have an uncle in the US and use another business name for my business (which is why I want to apply, come clean and correct).
They will be knowing bout these lies when I come clean in my new interview. So why suggest ban me? I'm not faulting you or anything Pls don't get me wrong, I just want to know what I probably do not know.

However, this is just like a normal application that can be made by anyone and they probably refuse based on their judgement. "THERE IS NO WAY THEY WILL KNOW I LIED ABOUT HAVING AN UNCLE OR NOT OR ABOUT MY BUSINESS NAME, NO DOCUMENTS WAS EVEN ASKED ON THE INTERVIEW DAY"

Do you get my point? So if they banned me for instance, I guess they should be banning anyone refused...

KaptainAfrika:
1. Loool. I am not saying you are banned. But the fact is most VO's never tell you, that you are banned. So you keep coming again and again.

2. Even if you are not banned and the issue is credibility, they never tell you 'you have a credibility issue, so we advise you don't apply again.'
On a lighter note, I wonder what's the difference between rejecting an application due to credibility issues vs banning an applicant...

Without doubt, it's my best in all my 6-7 years or so of playing the game. It usually took at least two weeks for me to get up to that total. Hope it's sign of good things to come, though. cool

Banned Ke? Please can you tell me why you reasoned the Ban situation?
Is it likely i could have been banned?
I must have been refused based on my ties or other things and not because of stating I have an uncle in the US and the Ghana and Togo travel history (I didn't have fake stamp or so on passport) - which was the lies in the form... and there is no way the VO would have known.

I decided to come clean now because im not comfortable with the lies. So I believe they will be knowing about the lies just during the new interview.

KaptainAfrika:
1. Fill the appropriate section, when filling your form (I don't which one it is)

2. Be honest when answering the questions.

3. If the VO mentions something like (I heard this during my 1st interview), for example; last time you said X, but now you are saying Y. COME CLEAN , DO NOT USE "THE AGENT DID IT" AS AN EXCUSE , BE HONEST ENOUGH TO ACCEPT THAT THOUGH YOU KNEW IT WAS A LIE , YOU STILL WENT ALONG WITH IT , AND THAT YOU HAVE LEARNT YOUR LESSON AND WISH TO THROW YOURSELF AT THE MERCY OF THE VO.
It might or might not work.

4. If you have been banned, the VO will let you know. I DONT KNOW THE PROCESS OF APPLYING FOR A WAIVER.

Thank you for your help. I will sure let everyone know the outcome.
God bless

KaptainAfrika:
And also let us know how it went. There are a lot of people like you, who made this mistake and are hoping for some way of rectifying their mistake.
TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by olulumdp: 4:38pm On Aug 13, 2017
Thank you cosade.... it's all clear now.

Enjoy the rest of your day and a wonderful week ahead.

cosade:
It is not strange for Agents to state that no assistance was given in completing the form. Even if it was stated that someone assisted you in filling the form, the responsibility is still yours.

So for me, the most important thing is that you have admitted some mistakes were made in an earlier form.

Like everyone have said here, the VO is likely not to be too harsh with you because of your travel history. What travel history does is to support the postulation that you did not intend to obtain undue advantage with those mistakes.
TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by olulumdp: 4:36pm On Aug 13, 2017
Thank you OmoBendel24.

All clear now.. Bless!

OmoBendel24:
It's on you surely, whether an agent filled it or not, you endorsed it by signing and submitting so to speak, and that is what you are righting now. Just go ahead, be upfront in your form filling - tactically - this time, if it will come up it will. Genuinely, by smartness you will know when necessary to do so too during interview, if it's not you should know. However, the last thing you will want to do is playing a fast one on a VO, that will be case closed. There are questions designed to find you out or deliberately set you on the right course if not to even bait you, do as you have desired to do, ensure your records get straightened, let that remain your primary aim, if it comes with extra goodies good for you too....
TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by olulumdp: 3:43pm On Aug 13, 2017
Thank you so so much...I appreciate!

Lastly, there is a section at last page which ask "if you fill the form yourself" I think the agent puts my name as the person that fills it.

I hope they will believe me when I state in the form that the person who assisted in filling the form made a mistake..... (I'm just thinking like, they might think his name should be there as the agent who filled it)

Pls reply.

Sorry for my wahala

Cheers

cosade:
Go through my post again, I think I have answered your question. On the form, if I were you, I'll simply state that the person that assisted me to fill the form made some mistakes. And wait for the VO to ask me for specifics during interview, if interested.
TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by olulumdp: 3:26pm On Aug 13, 2017
Thank you so much. I really do appreciate your contribution.

All contribution makes sense to me now. Do you think I should just state in the form while explaining that the person that helped me fill the form made a mistake or i should explain in details all the false information in the previous application/form?

Again, thanks and God bless!!

cosade:
Without prejudice to suggestions already offered, when completing your D160 form, I suggest you state a generic response in the box after the Question on if you've been refused US visa.

Something "Yes, I was refused B1/B2 visa in 2015 principally because of the mistakes made on my DS160 form, by the person that assisted me to complete it then".

During the interview, the VO would have seen it on your form. If no question is asked in this respect, I won't suggest you bring it up since the VO already knew you were denied before.

With your good travel history the VO is likely to be optimistic in assessing your strong ties, rather than being pessimistic.
TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by olulumdp: 1:45pm On Aug 13, 2017
Thank you for your time. I really do appreciate!

shrekandfiona:
No please, don't start your conversation with your misrepresentation. Flow with the interview. Try establishing your ties: travel, family & work.

Answer only questions you're asked honestly. The VO may or may not bring it up. Just fill your DS form correctly with the truth.

Ps: just my opinion, others may feel differently. Cheers
TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by olulumdp: 1:45pm On Aug 13, 2017
Okay. Thank you very much, I really do appreciate

seyewest:
As soon as the interview commence tell the V.O you have a confession to make... don't allow the V.O keep a line of questioning just open up and confess.
TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by olulumdp: 1:43pm On Aug 13, 2017
Thank you so much. Yes, I get your point. That's what I said in my first post, I don't mind been refused - i just want to clear things up.

QUESTION
Do you suggest I start the conversation about the false information in my previous application during the interview? Or I should let the VO point it out since I would have stated in the form.

Some kind people like you gave me advices but I want to weigh all and make a good decision.

I appreciate!

KaptainAfrika:
1. Put your mind off getting a visa. This is an interview to come clean, for future applications.
2. In the space for why were you refused a visa or in the space for did you misrepresent; write out the truth of what happened.
TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by olulumdp: 1:13pm On Aug 13, 2017
Thank you so much "smile" ... No he didn't put a stamp, he said if one travelled to any west African countries via Air that you don't get stamped in blah blah lol..

Yes, If there is a space to explain all in the form I will do all that but if not, do you suggest I start the conversation during the interview?

It's really a CLEAN STATE! Smile...

shrekandfiona:
Please come clean in all. There's a part in the form where it ask if ever denied a visa b4. I don't know if there is an additional space for the reason. But if there is, kindly explain all in the space provided. After explaining, let them know you have learnt from your mistakes.

Ps: you said the agent stated you had been to ghana/togo, did he put a fake stamp for you? Were you banned?

All the best in your clean slate. Cheers smiley
TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by olulumdp: 12:33pm On Aug 13, 2017
Thanks and God bless you shrekandfiona...And Omobendel24 God bless you too!

Lastly, do you think I should explain all the false information by the agent in my previous application without the VO asking because he/she (VO) might not ask then refuse me... while the major reason for this application is to clear things up. (I forgot to add this, he claimed have bn to Ghana and Togo, I want to come clean bout this too) I was so stupid to fall for this tho. Lesson learned!

I look forward to your reply

shrekandfiona:
No it won't. Infact though I am no VO, but you have a 90% success rate if you come clean. You have good travel history, family & job tie if all you put up there is true.

Start by filling your DS 160 form yourself. Also state you misrepresented in your previous form. If this comes up during the interview, explain yourself as truthful as you can and you'll be surprised at the positive outcome.
TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by olulumdp: 11:49am On Aug 13, 2017
Thank you for your response. However, I hope that won't put a permanent flag on my name if I end up confessing all I said in my first post?

Also, like I said earlier I don't mind been refused going that route but is there a chance that my visa is granted at the same time...

Thanks

OmoBendel24:
Good plan, you should go that route.
TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by olulumdp:
Good Evening Everyone...

Firstly I know I made a mistake, pls I need urgent advice..

I applied for visiting visa with my wife in 2015 and we were refused (An agent helped us). He told us he knows someone in the US that I should claim he is my uncle which I did and he changed my business name while filling the form to his preferred one (I think he did all this to justify the money he collected from us) and I have a good business with good earnings.

I have a good travelling history, I have been travelling to the UK on visiting for the past 10yrs, I did my masters there aswell and I lived there on work permit for 2yrs plus. I currently have a UK visiting Visa and I have been to Spain before which I planned renewing soon.

I want to apply again and I don't feel comfortable lieing about having an uncle in the US and using the business he used for me in the past

MY QUESTION: please can I come out clean to the consular about the false information in my previous application? And explained the situation and make him understand information in my new form is the real me.

I don't mind if I am refused, I just want to clear the false information up.

Thank you for reading and look forward to your advice

Freshface:
Use one of them to complete the application and only submit the one that is complete. It is the number u submit that they will open. It's no big deal.
Hello, thank you for your time and advice. I do appreciate! I called the US Embassy customer service and i was told the same thing you mention. God bless you!

Dear VO,

Good Morning.

I was filling the DS 160 form and something came up which i thought i might not be able to come back to it within a month, so i saved it to my computer.

However, the situation changed (still within a month), so i had to proceed to filling the form so i uploaded from my computer back to the DS 160 portal.

To my surprise, i got to know that the form Reference/Confirmation Code(thats starts with AA) for the first one is different from the one i got after uploading.

Now i have 2 different code that works for same form.

What can i do in this case? Please advice.

KaptainAfrika:
Yes of course, as of now it may look like you guys would travel at different days, but what of if something changes and you guys travel on together? She should select yes, as she may or may not be travelling with you in the future.
Thank you....but she is applying first and there is 99% possibility that she will travel before me. I think if she answers yes, then she will need to put my details

1. Call the customer care and get them to attach a new profile to an email address only you can access.
2. Fill in your new form honestly and truthfully. If you are asked about the previous form/interview you didn't attend, tell them what actually happened.
All the best!
Hi KaptainAfrika, trust you are good.

Please advice, my wife and i will be applying and travelling at different time because of my business here in Nigeria. There is a section that says, "ARE THERE OTHER PERSON TRAVELLING WITH YOU?" do you think she should choose YES OR NO?

Happy Sunday to everyone...

Please i will like to know if i can go ahead and book my appointment before completing my DS-160 form 100%?

REASON, I want to take my time feeling the form and i want to quickly secure a nearer date.

If you use the one he used before, he could do a lot of things and you won't know what he did - cancel your appointment, change your form etc. With the new one, you have sole access to your profile.
Thank you so much. Blessing!

Thank you so much. However in your answer 1, are you saying I shouldn't use the login details the agent used? Then I should call customer care and request my profile to be attached with a new email?

Do you know if the agent canceled the appointment at the embassy on ur behalf?
Hi Tdadz, thank you so much for your reply.
I remember during our conversation, I insist I was going to use my own details and not someone else's own.. that I need to feel another form and scheduled another appointment myself, so he cancelled the appointment and he later told me the money was forfeited cos he cancelled it, as I won't be able to use it to reschedule another appointment. I had to let the money go.

So yes, he cancelled the appointment on the platform.

Good day house, trust everyone is well.

Please I need an advice, I fell a victim of visa agent as they call them.

Sometime last year (Dec) i wanted to apply for US visiting visa so I went through an agent, I gave him all my documents and details.

A week after , he called me to come over that he has filled my form submitted online etc and booked my appointment. While going through the form he printed out , I got to know he didn't use the details I gave him. He used a business name of his choice wch he already have the documents and also said I have an uncle in the US of which I do not know anyone in US.

I wasn't comfortable with all this so I let go of the money I paid for my appointment n put an hold to my travelling plan and didn't attend the interview.

Now I want to apply now, using my real details with my own business name and to book an hotel. Please, I will like to know if the form he submitted last year Dec won't show up in US embassy system or contradict my new application?

Please advice, it's urgent.

Bless!
