Controversial Minister of Interior, Abba Moro, has
devised a fresh scheme to fleece Nigerians. Using
the increase in the new fees charged for the
Nigerian passport, he has formulated a new policy
that would effectively extort billions from
unsuspecting Nigerians every month.
Beginning in August, the minster illegally
contracted a freight forwarding and courier
company, Greater Washington Limited, to deliver
passports to applicants at the cost of N2,000.
The fee has been built into the new fee of
N19,550 charged for the Nigerian passport and
every applicant is forced to pay the money
whether she/he wants the service or not.
The new payment regime for the Nigerian
passport commenced on August 1, when the
federal government also rolled out the new 64-
page passport for frequent travellers. Where the
32-page passport used to cost N8,750 for all
Nigerians under the old regime, with the new rate,
applicants aged 1 to 18 and 60 and above would
now be the only ones allowed to pay the old rate
of N8,750. All other applicants (aged 18 to 60)
would pay N15,000.
This was announced by the Minister of Interior at
the launch of the 64-page passport by President
Goodluck Jonathan at the Presidential Villa on
July 29. The minister said further that the 64-
page passport would cost N20,000 while change
of data for reasons other than marriage or divorce
would attract a N30,000 processing fee.
What Moro failed to tell his audience, including
President Jonathan, is that Nigerians would now
be forced to pay N2,000 to have their passports
delivered to their homes.
Our investigations indicate that the total amount
paid for the passport is N15,600, including bank
charges.
An applicant is expected to indicate if he prefers
to pick up his/her passport personally or would
like it delivered. However, whatever option is
chosen, the N2,000 for delivery has to be paid.
Many applicants who say they would pick up their
passports because they do not want any delay
are still being made to pay the N2,000.

well,i have been following this thread with kin interest but just decided to keep to myself because of some doubting thomases in this room.the last time i shared a very useful information here as regards my been called to come for my appointment letter,people called me different names.believe me or not,immigration,fire service and road safety recruitment starts june/july.dont forget,you heard it here first when the time comes

I found this heart breaking picture of this young girl murdered like she was nothing on net this morning.Seriously,i’ve not been myself since then.The details of where or how the victim was murdered havn’t been made known yet but I’ll try get every detailed information about the murder.

With the mind of a psychologist,I would say she was kidnapped,raped and intentionally tortured to death by maybe an enemy.It pains me most to know that the wicked barbarians who did this to are out there walking the streets freely.

I don't understand why peeps on nairaland wouldn't grow up?mine is a vivid example.I posted stuffs abt receiving a call to come for A.P letter @ d NSCDC headquaters abt a mounth ago and some people here were runing their mouth anyhow,some called me names and some went as far as asking me to scan my A.P letter for them to believe me.That said,am happy to inform the house that am now a commissioned officer(1 star).guys,the truth of the matter is that peeps wit the right connections are still getting A.P letters daily for NSCDC and NIS.a word is enough for the wise.cheers

baffle me so much about this thread is that nobody in this thread have
come out and said i collected appointment letter or did documentation,
it is always MY FRIEND! does it mean every member here is not connected,
blessed, favour or rather cause? there is nothing u will gain by lieing
or bringing confusion to the house. just today, civil defense commence screening of all staff, with biometric capture of all staff, in Abj at the state command headquarters zone 5.

Flye: I ve said it here b4 that NSCDC do replacement here in Abuja but they will never tell u they do it and they are given 2-3weeks training instead of usual 3month training but this is beyond any agent and u must be highly connected to enjoy that. However i don't know if this happen in other state sha and for recruitment it will still take place.
