When you sit in your small mindset thinking your boring strategy is the only one that works, commenting on trading strategies you're completely clueless about then you're not being very smart, smartness implies you realize that you don't appraise what you're a novice at.

The N3.5m you waited 5 years to make, only takes me abot 1 month to make. CONSISTENTLY!

You waited 5 years to make 2000% on a holding that you were only comfortable putting less than 1% of your portfolio on, meaning what you're celebrating only added 20% to your portfolio in 5 years.

If I assume I had N1m in January, Then my portfolio is already up 3000% in one year. My overall portfolio!

if i say it's 100k, then it's 30,000% in year, compare that to your mediocre 20% and rest

I actually had -N5m at thestart of this year. Much less than 100k. I wasn't broke, I just was cash strapped.

In February 2021, I bought 50,000 units of NCR Nigeria Plc at N3.43 per share — a total of N171,564.
At the time, it was the very definition of a “boring” stock: low price, almost zero daily volume, and four straight years of depressing financial reports. Most investors wouldn’t touch it with a ten-foot pole.

I loved it for exactly those reasons.

I didn’t buy a piece of paper to flip in six months. I bought part ownership in a 130-year-old technology institution that installed the first ATM in Nigeria, services banks, oil companies, and retailers nationwide, and has a footprint no newcomer can replicate overnight. I tactically forgot about the stock and went on with my life.

While others panicked over every negative headline, every delayed result, every illiquid trading day, I slept soundly as a proud part-owner of a real business. Liquidity? I never needed it — because I never planned to sell.

Some members of the old forum mocked the stock’s illiquidity. I smiled.
Life has taught me a hard truth: the smartest investors — the ones with complex models, Bloomberg terminals, and Harvard MBAs — are often the dumbest in the room when it comes to long-term wealth creation. Their trusted formulas blind them. They believe they can predict the future. They scream “bear market” at the first 5% dip and create panic for traders and gamblers.

There is no crystal ball.
There is only a simple, boring, almost childishly stubborn strategy that guarantees success:
Buy a wonderful business at a fair price (or better), do nothing, and let compounding do the heavy lifting.

That is the gospel I kept preaching on the forum — until the rather unkind, herbalist-looking moderator permanently banned me in August 2025. (Yes, this actually happened.)

Fast-forward to today.

The “illiquid trash” of yesterday is now the hottest stock on the NGX.
From N3.43 in 2021 to N72.70 as I write this — a 2,020% return.
Over 70 million units have traded between March and November 2025 alone. The forgotten stock is on track to become the best-performing stock of 2025.

What a turnaround story for a once-rejected stone that is now the chief cornerstone.

With only 108 million shares in issue, a conservative N50 billion market cap (less than $30 million at current rates) is well within reach — that’s another 6–7x from here.
Bonus issues are being whispered about. Dividends? They’re no longer a distant dream.

My original 50,000 units have become my voting right in a company on the verge of joining the big leagues.

I have only two people to thank:
God, for grace, and the late, great Charlie Munger — may his soul rest in perfect peace — who drilled this truth into my head:
“Buy a wonderful business, then have the patience to hold it forever. Never interrupt compounding unnecessarily. Time will do the rest.”

The good days of NCR are still ahead.
What we have seen so far is merely the appetizer.

Don't worry by end of the month you will know your option. If you are in for reinvestment, you will see a subscription transaction of gains from 1st to 31st of August, 2025

Utilization of interest ie, payout or reinvest, is done at the point of registration.

After that, you don't need to do anything, your interest is reinvested/payout automatically as at when due.

However, you can always change your preference using an account update form from the customer care.

I have been investing in the equity and balances funds with stanbic for 5 years now and the return exceeds mmf. Average of 40-60 % pa.

Foot falls at shopping malls in some parts of the country are now being used as a benchmark to measure the success or otherwise of the Tinubu admin.
While those who use this indices to measure the admin may not be entirely wrong, it’s also not an accurate reflection of the economic situation in the country; before my position is mistaken as denying the existence of economic hardship realities across the country, what I’m saying is there are other ways to measure than using foot fall in malls
For instance, the video could’ve been made on a slow business day or time also, the fact remains that if any such business owners in the mall aren’t making sales in volumes that cover their running costs and then some little profit, they would’ve closed shop without delay to cut further incurring losses.
Finally, they try to paint the economy as very terrible & unfavorable to businesses yet, their hero who came 3rd in the last presidential elections, has rebuilt his mall (Next Cash & Carry) that was burnt down in a fire accident some few years back; he will restock the business, employ new hands, etc knowing how business owners operate and project, if the economy isn’t viable and doesn’t support businesses to grow and make profit, would he have bothered to reinvest tens of billions to rebuilding? Who rebuilds in a dying or stiffling economy?

The economy was already growing at over 3% before you took office so it's not as if you took Nigeria from recession
Inflation has worsened since you took office
Interest rates have almost doubled and Nigerians are now paying more for living expenses than any time in history
Debts have increased
Dollar value of govt income has reduced
Unemployment has not improved either
Shall we talk about exchange rate that has plummeted?
So what exactly is the economy recovering from?
I think it's becoming obvious that these guys are taking Nigerians for a ride

N930bn is just about $930m while this man previously said $20bn was being used to subsidise fuel every year by the previous administration. So if $20bn was spent on subsidy, how come you're only able to save $930m out of $20bn? Where's the remaining $19.1bn?

I can see how empty and life-less Buhari's house look like, just take a look at the uninspiring and cheap curtains behind them.

Nigerians elected a man who can't even live in a befitting home and expected the same man to make their lives befitting.

I may not like Tinubu, but it will take some time to undo the accient polices of Buhari that drove Nigerians to poverty.

Buhari has been tested twice; once as a military dictator and once as a civilian president, he plunged Nigeria in both cases to the worse economic recessions in the history of Nigeria. What a disgrace!

Nobody can beat that.

May Nigeria never experience another Buhari.
