Education / Man Is Naturally Evil by oluwawilliams(m): 6:58am On Jul 30, 2015
Marcus Aurelins said man doesn't do evil willingly while Nicolo Machiavelli said man is naturally evil and ready to display his vicious nature whenever he may finds occasion for it, man acts right only under compulsion and changes master willingly hoping to better himself...
To me both are great philosophers but I will like to go with Nicolo Machiavelli and I like to ask Aurelins ' does man do anything willingly?' Since he said man doesn't do evil willingly, does he do good willingly? As absurd as it may sound man is naturally evil, without the fear that has been put into the mind of a man through religion or authorities, man is extremely self-centered and could do anything to satisfy himself. Thank God for government authorities and spiritual authorities if not man would have destroyed himself with his desire to satisfy self...it is obvious man strictly needs a guide in everything that's why it is necessary that he makes vows in order to sustain his acclaimed love.
