Thanks for your reply. Please i want to find out if any person with only a nigerian 1st and may be 2nd degree has gotten a positive assessment. As my husband and i have only nigerian degrees in Architecture and most people in this forum that has got a positve assessment all have foreign degrees attached to their nigerian degree.
Thanks for your response.
Hi Uzzi. On the contrary, I reckon most of the successful applicants in this forum got positive assessment using their 1st degrees from Nigeria, especially the Engineers. For architecture, am not aware. But I believe you'll get a positive response. Try it out Uzzi. You and hubby should write to the appropriate assessing authority. Send them an enquiry email and ask for their requirements. All d best

Congrats bro. This is really good news. Pls i would like to know if there was a criteria for you to have certain amount in your account before the visa was granted. Secondly if your degree is a nigerian degree and finally what you scored in the skill sellect.
Hello bro. No such criteria for a Permanent Residency Visa 189 or 190. However some states require POF before nomination is given under visa 190.
I had a Nigerian degree but I also have an Australian bachelor's degree. Your Nigerian degree can be assessed as meeting up with Australian Qualifications framework. I scored 60points on skillselect.

@Ome240

Was your wife skills assessed on the same occupations list as your nominated occupation regarding to what is specified on Partner skills section of the visa application or was she not assessed at all
I didn't assess my wife's skill cos I wasn't claiming points from it. Besides she's a medical doctor yet to register with the Aussie medical board. For medical doctors, it seems like a long process. But you could have your spouse assess his/her skill with the appropriate authority. He/she will have to meet the English Lang. requirement of the authority also for you to be able to claim the 5points.

Thanks ome240! Pls how much am I looking @ for everything? Including d assessment fees in nigeria money! Pls how did u go abt d. IELTS? Any past questions?
Don't know much about fees for assessing authorities. I think the fees lie within a range of $500-$1000AUD. IELTS in Nigeria should be about 45-50k. Am not too sure anymore cos I sat for mine in 2014. I studied online by subscribing to ROADTOIELTS. Some other people buy study materials from British Council. There are so many online resources.

Congratulations! I tap into your testimony.
Please did you claim work point?
Yes I did claim work experience points. My assessing authority gave me 8 years and above for work experience but whilst filling up my EOI, I indicated only 5years (10points). This is because 5years out of the 8years given is verifiable. One of the companies i worked for has moved from Nigeria. Didn't want to take chances.

Smiles.....Congrats my brother....now I am encouraged and believe in this Australia Immigration and not only in Canada.
Please, help me out on these questions... how many work year experience is needed, Which Assessment body did u use(I have B.Tech at FUTO, and MSc in UK),how do I go about the Assessment....,and how do you mean by DIRECT GRANT RECEIVED, and what amount of POF is required. Thanks and Congrats again.
Basically, there's no fixed requirement for work experience. It varies. Some folks who grab maximum points from English Test don't bother about claiming experience points like our bro Jukeblam. The number of years of experience however can contribute to adding points when its 3years and above. So it all depends. Conduct a point test on your case now and determine where you can get points to add up to 60 and start working on it. Just a word of advise, whatever you want to do, don't hesitate as laws change everyday. Some occupations have already been flagged for possible removal from the SOL List by July 2017. Mine is one of them. So make hay while the sun shines.
I also graduated from FUTO 2003.
Assessing authority will depend on the nominated occupation.
POF will also depend on the visa subclass, but is common with state nominated visa 190. Some states are not stringent with POF. e.g Tasmania. They only require you to declare that you have sufficient funds to settle in when you arrive. Different states have their own criterion. Visa 189 does not require POF before a grant is given. Best of luck

Greetings House. Please through what means does the Case Officer contact the applicant? Is it via email or phone number? I am onshore and had a missed call from a number I don't recognise. True calling back but it would never go through.
TravelRe: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by ome240: 8:34am On Jun 17, 2016
@Cecegal: For AMSA skills assessment. Go to AMSA Website and download Form No 12.
Complete the form and send with supporting documents. However, AMSA insists that before positive assessment is given, the applicant must be holding a COC issued by one of the countries Australia has bilateral ties with. You may check this on the Amsa website and confirm your brother's COC will be recognised. If yes, then he will have to sit for oral exams conducted by AMSA in Australia before +ve assessment is issued. If not, he may have to upgrade in Australia.

Going by some person's comments, its obvious they have neither come to contribute nor seek advice, rather they have come to spoil this beautiful forum.
Friends, there is no competition here. You visit the thread, get blessed and bless others too. WE NEED TO STOP MAKING DEROGATORY STATEMENTS AND ASSASSINATING THE CHARACTER OF PEOPLE. Let's be matured and kind enough in our comments please.
BOSSLADYMO, I greet to specially. You're the LadyBoss and you're always appreciated.

I derive pleasure from helping people. It's just the way I am, the way I am programmed. I am not some sadistic psycopath who derives pleasure from online attention. I am of the opinion that no one should be left in Nigeria, if they have the chance to gain a better life abroad....especially people with kids. Looking at my kids, I know that even if something happens and we can't afford to pay for their education...they have a government and systems in place to enable them continue their education as much as they can. So if I can help anyone else in any way I can, why not? I don't answer questions to show off. I say what I know. I was once a novice also. I remember my very first post on this thread. But I took my time to research thoroughly...like I said, I was not willing to spend a huge chunk of money on a process I knew nothing about.

So for someone to come and say there is more to me 'online niceness'....hmmm.....

I will let it die there.

Thanks to everyone who came to my defence.
Welcome back bossladyMo....
