Sup bro,

Wanna talk to.you about some issues. I sent u a pm too via your mail. I am expecting my visa to aussie, I av done masters before...but I applied.for a research masters. I believe I will be able to apply for pr with my masters when I get to aussie, den if I get I can switch my program to part time. What do u think??
I am sure you will get a response this week with EA. If you have your 60points on lockdown you will indeed get your invite for 189 by June22. You can also apply for NSW (190) sponsorship with swift chances of getting selected. Make sure not to use one EOI for both because you don't know which one will come first. I used seperate EOI's and got both invitations 189 & 190. I'm running with 189 though. Asper my masters I did it in Griffith uni in queensland. Its quite flexible there and you can apply for credits for prior learning so u get advanced standing and shorten your masters from 2yrs to 1.5yrs or if you are doing the 1.5yr option you can shorten to 1yr. However u won't be elligible for post work study if you pull this stunt. Therefore the only alternative is to get the 8points with the ielts and skip the postworkstudy to PR straight, which is what I did.
If you come via PR, in my opinion, it will be useless to do a masters. You should only consider it if you get a job. Then you can run it part time. You should instead focus on getting Australian experience through internships or industry placements. No one here really cares about your grades or number of degrees but your experience.

Oga Bellong... Am also interested in this possible pathway for medical practitioners. Well... not for me but for someone am really sure would appreciate the information. So is it ok if I pmed you regarding this...

Cheers

bellong:

How long have you been practising?

The process is long but very profitable for medical practitioners. You need to pass the medical examination set by the medical board. The exam is in two stages. I think South Africa and Egypt are the only centres you can write it in Africa.

Meanwhile, there is a possible pathway for medical practitioners for those with at least three years of experience.

I received my positive assessment from AMSA on 6th June 2016, Submitted EOI on same day 6th June. Invitation received 2 days later 8th June. Lodged application on the 10th and now on bridging visa.
Meanwhile, I have a question. Will immigration verify employment information given even after skills assessment has been issued by an appropriate authority

@Aceblazer,

Yes, you can...

@Oknee and lizybos, replied.

@Ome240,

I guess the information is not useful for you anymore, you already have been invited to apply.

If the employment reference you submitted is genuine, you need not be bothered whether it will be confirmed or not.

They do confirm if they are not convinced with what you submitted. If you have doubt in yourself about what you submitted, they also can have doubt.

@Cecegal: For AMSA skills assessment. Go to AMSA Website and download Form No 12.
Complete the form and send with supporting documents. However, AMSA insists that before positive assessment is given, the applicant must be holding a COC issued by one of the countries Australia has bilateral ties with. You may check this on the Amsa website and confirm your brother's COC will be recognised. If yes, then he will have to sit for oral exams conducted by AMSA in Australia before +ve assessment is issued. If not, he may have to upgrade in Australia.

@malkinburg. Kindly update us on how to get the Australian experience through internships or industry placements. What steps do we take? Any particular 'packaging' to get us in? Any particular trainings we need to go through there to get in? How do I get the relevant experience in environmental engineering to be considered? Thinking and planning ahead, and I believe u, Bellong and co r positioned to enlighten and educate us. I got positive outcome this morning from EA as Engr technologist. Thanks.

Have you done your expression of interest? No time bro if you havnt. Asper opportunities for environmental related roles, it depends on the state you wish to settle in, the industries that interface with environmental applications, and your willingness to digress a little. So first of all you let me know your background and areas of interest and finally where you wish to settle in oz before I can break it down for you as there is no benefit in giving generic info in this case

Hmmmm for WA and Queensland, projects are slow for now. In QLD, the LNG plant is reaching the end of the design build stage. Lots of opportunities poped up when the project was hot. For now however, there aren't as much jobs for chemical as compared to other engineering professionals in both places especially for the major companies as a result of the slow down in mining & oil sectors. That is not to say that lateral hire opportunities don't exist with quiet specialist recruiters especially in Perth for companies which have presence globally and south east Asia. I believe with proper research and positioning you will find a good gig irregardless.

So a brother can not take the IELTS exam without having an international passport?
How true? Appears every other forms of identity are strange to these people.
Has anyone pulled through the exam without his/her int'l passport?

I believe the best route to follow is to align your self with a path you desire. It could IT related or engineering based or even project management or management consulting. If all you desire is getting a permanent comfy job with career progression, and not really adamant about chem eng, you can pull it off neatly. For example a friend who read agric eng in naija came in Feb2015 to read environmental eng. He got is PR in January and decided to bone school. He eventually got an entry level gig in IT with a multinational in Sydney based on carefully researched packaging. (What do they need, can I do it, or learn sharply? And finally how can I fit myself in.) He has boned his masters for now as he is more interested in havesting the dolls from the streets lol. Ne-ways when you come in hit me up so I could enlighten you on the little I know about the recruiting game in Australia. As for me. I'm moving to New south Wales from Brisbane to exploit the opportunities.
