I'm sure you didn't read the OP, or you just decided to show how clannish you are. Section 50 (1) (b) of the Constitution says: "a Speaker and a Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, who shall be elected by members of that House from among themselves." There is no place in the Constitution where it is stated that the position of the Speaker is the exclusive preserve of the party with the majority.

In my secondary days I was told the NLC is one of the pressure groups during my classes on Pressure Groups in Government. I was told they try to influence, support any political party or idea in the build-up to an election that would drive home their yearnings. Telling the generals to do away with religious politics is not a bad idea.

I always wonder if this young man has ever sat to ponder on his appellation, "king' of music". How could Buhari have drawn anything from the 1979 Constitution when it's obvious the constitution and political parties are the first things that are suspended when there is a coup?
