Career / Best Nigerian University For Phd In Engineering by omo1010: 2:46pm On Jul 19, 2013
Hello!!! career minded guys in the house,

I need your honest advice on the best Nigerian university for a PhD programme in Engineering.
I worked in three companies in Nigeria with 6 years cumulative experience as an engineer before i left the country for my MSc. In the course of doing the programme I saw the need to pursue PhD immediately because i need to rechannel my career, but my constraint is that my wife and son are in Nigeria and I am not interested in moving the family abroad.

A minimum of additional three years for the PhD programme is too long a time to be far from by young family, so i am considering doing the programme in Nigeria but would like to know the best university to choose.it is unfortunate i cannot do these finding online because majority of our universities do not have current staff list/profile on their sites.
your assessment should base on the facilities, quality of lecturers and the possibility of graduating as at when due (minus ASUU strike grin)from records.

Moderator, pls FP cos I need good response for urgent decision.
Politics / Re: Boko-Haram Kills 30 Students In Yobe Boarding School by omo1010: 4:45am On Jul 07, 2013
franchizy: I ve said it over and over dat d only solution to dis Boko Haram menace is 4 GEJ to suspend the state of emergency, appologise to the Northern Elders forum, dialogue and grant Boko Haram Amnesty, rebuild all mosque. The military can't win d war cos 80% of Boko Haram are from d SS, SE and SW and are christians who are used to tannish d image of d North and kill our people but Allah will fight 4 d North and vindicate us.
Many of d Boko Haram sponsors are from d SS, SE and SW all in d name of Power but the North must complete there remaining 4yrs come 2015.
I urge Nigerians to support Buhari 4 a change and better Nigeria.

This is d most stupid n senseless thing I ve heard in recent time. R u by this confirming that northern elders r behind this madness .state of emergency was d last option 4 gej

[b][b]if we want to embrace this it has to be in totality, that should include services with local substitutes. yearly Naija spends over N80b on abroad studies alone when we have unis here lacking in maintenance and capacities not improved, expatriates are taken in place of nigerians with same qualifications if not better, we should encourage local contract by considering them for jobs which are normally given to foreign company. The patriotism has to be holistic with right regulatory measure. No more foreign made wears for the so called elites and their children must study in Naija, leadership by example lets begin the sacrifice now if we must grow our economy, cos we ve fair share the world market given our population

apart from insecurty promblem in naija, difference in technological know-how is another. to bridge this gap Nigerian govt must review and strictly enforce the local content policy by so doing Nigerians will stand greater chance of tapping from these advanced know...in fact we must find a way of changing the perception of average Nigerian by foreigners because even if the know-how is there, what about:discipline, sincerity and reliabilty which Nigerians are not known for across the globe and its still on the increase..
