Can one claim the 5points from the spouse if he/she is able to just get the competent English level without any assessment?
zanyzara:

You will still be required to prove your functional English. There are different ways to prove this, however, some CO still ask for a test of English. The requirement is not too stringent though.

IELTS 4.5
TOEFL iBT 8
PTE Academic 30
Cambridge (CAE) 147

We are in the same stage. Mine has given 25th Nov. And I'm sorting it now. Let's chat in private if you don't mind.
Travel / Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by omo1010: 11:16am On Nov 01, 2018
Thank u so much. I will do that immediately. They actually gave 30th Nov. but I believe the earlier the better.

One more thing. I discovered that company's name didn't appear on the tax clearance I collected form IRS Lagos, only my name, though the reference number is there. Hope that shouldn't be an issue?

Thank you
flyca:

Go the the Inland Revenue Service (IRS) office of the state you worked and pay in arrears. Then they will process the document for you. Go with your employment letter, or proof of employment documents. It will also be good to notify your employer before heading to IRS.

By the way, you can contact EA and ask them to give you sometime to request for the document.

Goodluck!

Hi guys,
EA requested that I provide snapshot of tax clearance from me. One of the companies I worked for was deducting tax from salaries but didnt remit. I realized this but time didnt permit me to push for compliance.

I only spent one year there but need it to complete my 8years experience need. Moreover, one of my career episodes is from this company's experience.

Please, I need advice on the best way to go about this. Prompt response will be highly appreciated

Thank you.

...you are forgetting one thing...igbos are the most widely spread in all the Nigerian states where they registered and will vote. The chief reason gej lost to.pmb in 2015 is because of the preelection tension up north. This made Igbo to come home and their votes didn't count...if what is 3m votes. The number of registered voters in the sw, what % did u factor in as igbos? ...that said, it will be of great help to the current situation of the country if we can shun tribal and religious sentiment by voting in the right team to clean up the mess...in 2015, I had high regard for PYO but just realized that he is not daring enough in the face of all these problems...this I will strongly support a very good Igbo VP for a change...talk of national integration, sense of belonging and revival of the economy

For those not sure of where to write their PTE.
I wrote yesterday at bellaz. Mehn! Not sure if there can be any better centre here in nigeria.
We were even called in one by one after every 30mins so that the last person would have been tru with the speaking part. So there was no noise at all as only one person was talking at same time.

I give it to bellaz

In my MSA application, I discovered that I made wrong attachment, so divided to cancel the application to do a fresh one, but I realized slight changes on EA site. I didnt even see the dropdown for the engineering disciplines where the skill level and and the codes are filled automatically. I only saw professional levels to assess. I'm kind of confused, because it's still account used, could it be I'm on the wrong site, but Ive searched, what could be wrong?. Do I need to create new account, to proceed? Engineers in the house, please confirm if EA accepts scanned copies of academic transcripts for fast track assessment, as I didn't see postal address recommended for documents posting on the MSA booklet.

Thank u in anticipation of ur response.

Thanks a lot, this is really helpful. Can u pls hint me on pte-A reg. The best centre to use. What is the best method of paying for ea assessment.
Bnimz:
Engineers are not allowed to use PTE for Assessment.... However we can and do use PTE-A for Visa purposes... Most people here got their 20 points from PTE-A... Including the engineers
Travel / Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by omo1010: 2:54pm On Jul 18, 2017
I appreciate ur analysis, but i was thinking that engineers are not allowed to write pte, since ea does not have it as an option, and that my work exp should be 15 and not 10, ie 8yrs+. At worst case, do i stand a chance for state nomination ie if i couldn't hit 20 in English? i will try and go through the MSA like u suggested. Thank u so much.
Cottyekundayo:

Current cost of assessment is on EA website.
Your age I think gives 25 points,
Work experience should give 10 points, if you go for gold with your English exams you will get extra 20
points, (IELTS 8 cross band / 79+ PTE cross band)
Your assessment gives 15 points .
I recommend you download the MSA booklet and read adequately to have a clear understanding regarding your scores being used for assessment. It's a yes though but it won't hurt if you read it by yourself.
So on the average you have about 70 points ( if you get 20 for English) or 60 points ( 7 cross band for IELTS or 65 for PTE) which I believe isn't adequate cos mechanical engineering is a Pro-rata occupation.

Thanks Mike
Michaelamo:

Yes, you can use that result for EA assessment. The IELTS result I used for mine was almost same as yours. All you need is 6.0 and above in all task.

Thanks man, could u pls link me to where u read mech eng cutoff point. i dont want to waste money on ea assessment without hope
spyroxy1:

current cost of assessment with a fast track is $1380 AUD (CDR, skill assessment + fast track)
I read somewhere that as a mechanical engineer the requirement now is 75 in the EOI
Travel / Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by omo1010: 11:20am On Jul 18, 2017
Gentle men in the house, well done for good job you are doing.

Kindly advise me on this.
Just got my IELTS result L/R/W/S=6.5,6,7,7
I intend rewriting the test but can I use the result for EA assessment.

I'm 37 with beng & msc in mechanical engineering, and my work experience as an engineer is 8yrs+

Do I stand a chance for sc189, If I get higher ielts score Ie after EA assessment? Can I get higher point from Pte if EA is done with the assessment using ielts since that's what is acceptable.

What is the current cost of assessment, and the least possible time of the assessment. Thank u

Because the price of crude oil was still high far above the 30 dollar it fell to during this regime. Where did you keep your primary school addition and subtraction?

Crude price is currently above $50 which is more than what was budgeted, yet Nigerians are not feel any positive impact. Obj ran this country with less than $30 per barrel, managed the effect of the global economic crisis without plunging Nigeria to this type of unprecedented hardship. What we have now is offshoot of bad economic decisions that are not peoples' friendly. Truth has to e told, instead of defending this gross maladministration which is neither good for PMb nor his administration, because history will not e kind to this regime

U r right the d wrong deeds of past administrations has multiplying effect on the current economic situation of the country that includes lack of diversification, unfortunately since PMb came in, he has not made any significant effort on that, instead been busy searching oil in the north.
Two year down the line we are yet to see the blue print of his economic diversification. Even the recession management he is not proactive about, and Nigerians are ultimately bearing the brunt, without succour on sight.
If PMb has good plans Nigerians should be able to feel, and not this case of water everywhere, and yet no drop to drink. It is just like farmer with well stocked yam barn, and his children are dying of hunger. Nigerian are already tired of hearing these figures, and the international communities are laughing.

Hmmm, some of u wailers ehnn!!! I guess u don't know dat Nigeria is not d only country facing recession. Der are about 11countries in full time recession wit more countries heading towards recession. Now d funny thing about those countries in full fledged recession is dat 8 of dem are Oil producing nation grin. Those countries made so much money during d oil boom while d UAEs , Saudi Arabia were busy saving and diversifying, we were busy looting, throwing owambe grin .
Only d duumb or muumu will blame PMB for our economical woes cos in d first place our economy wasn't doing fine. Our economy was only a reacting to d price of crude oil boom during GEJ time and as soon as d price of crude fell, our economy nose dived, dat 26 states cudn't pay basic salaries. We shud be grateful dat God in his infinite wisdom gave us PMB, if not we for be like Venezuela, Brazil n Co. wit d way some PDP now APC looters were stealing in dollar. @least wit PMB on sit d looting don reduce (I no talk say e don stop o grin)
Car Talk / Prevention Of Rats' Infestation In Car Engines by omo1010: 2:54pm On Mar 21, 2017
I just discovered that rats have been eating some components of my car engine. Mostly: cables, insulation and hose. Could this be as a result of not using the car regularly (just weekends, when I'm in town)?

Anybody in the house with similar experience in the past should please assist me with the most effective way to addressing this permanently.

Madam, just submit, if you are not innocent, do not make it worse than it is already, by wasting tax payers money in rigorous investigation. Save yourself a longer jail term by so doing.

Nigerians need all the loots backs, for meaningful development. We have been through a lot!

Same way, all past and present leaders with corruption cases must be apprehended and all the loots brought back to the treasury. In fact I suggest a separate account for repatriated loots for accountability.

God bless Nigeria!

Politics / Re: Subsidy On Petrol Falls To N576m Daily by omo1010: 12:47pm On Oct 05, 2015
The only commendation that should go to PMB admin on this is accountability, ensuring that what comes in is what is being subsidised unlike previous era. However, Nigerians still pay high pump price, given the current price of crude oil. PMB admin should prioritise refining for local consumption especially now that value of crude oil is increasingly becoming intrinsic, the will eliminate subsidy and create employment.

Long run plan should be ZERO crude oil exportation by capacity building in refineries and diversification of the economy.
