Wearing a Barcelona shirt in Saudi Arabia now risks a €135,000 fine and up to 15 years in prison. The change in law follows the cutting of diplomatic relations and borders with Qatar, who the Saudi Kingdom this week accused of supporting ISIS. Saudi Arabia have moved to punish Barcelona’s shirt sponsors of four years, Qatar Airways, whose company logo adorns the Spanish club’s kit and other promotional material. According to Sky Italy, those caught wearing shirts with the Qatar Airways wording now face €135,000 euro fine and up to 15 years in prison. A ban could now follow in who sided with Saudi Arabia in the international row including the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Yemen and Bahrain. Barcelona are, however, switching shirt sponsors to Japanese online retailer Rakuten from the 2017/18 season for four years. Paris Saint-Germain were also affected this week as the Ligue 1 club’s Qatari owners have a shirt sponsorship deal with Emirates, but the UAE’s national carrier have stopped flights between the two countries. But the French club, who have two more seasons with Emirates, told Le Parisien: “It will have no effect on the club, there is no worry.” Cc: lalasticlala SOURCE: http://www.trendcabal.com/2017/06/saudi-arabia-bans-barcelona-shirts-with.html?m=1

I am a Nigerian man by blood, yes,” the Minister quoted Joshua as saying in a recent interview. He added that the boxer in the interview, also listed the secret of his success as pounded yam, eba and egusi – all Nigerian cuisine. The Minister hailed Joshua for his humility, despite his success in boxing. He also extolled his “undying spirit, coming off the canvas after he was knocked down by Klitschko in the sixth round to win by a Technical Knock Out in the 11th round of their pulsating fight” Joshua, who made his professional debut in 2013. was born in Watford to a Nigerian mother and a British father of Nigerian and Irish descent. Some of the early years of the 27-year-old champion were spent in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, before he returned to the UK halfway through year seven to join Kings Langley Secondary School. The spiritual leader of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star, His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu, has called on those wishing the worst for President Muhammadu Buhari to perish such wish, declaring that the President will not die. Speaking in Calabar, the Cross River capital, Olumba stated that God purposely chose Buhari as president of Nigeria to deal with the scourge of corruption. He noted that the Buhari-led government has succeeded in the war to retrieve Nigeria’s stolen money; but asserted that more efforts should be geared towards promoting peace and unity in the country. According to the spiritual leader, “When we said at the onset of the administration that those who stole Nigeria’s money will return all, many did not believe us. “But the president must pray for God to lead him to apply the recovered loot to the benefit of all Nigerians. Let me repeat that Nigeria is a very well blessed country; to those wishing the president dead, he will not die.” The Brotherhood of the Cross and Star leader further called on Nigerians and investors to have faith in the country, which he described as blessed. The mobile phone of a Nigerian ‘ganja’ or Indian hemp smuggler, has proven a hard nut for Indian police. Indian police in the city of Visakhapatnam, desirous of knowing the Nigerian contacts announced last night their frustration in being unable to unlock his The Nigerian, identified as Charles Chuks was arrested Saturday night by the City Task Force with 25kg of dry ganja. Chuks, 40, who came to India about 18 months ago on a business visa, was living in Hyderabad. He was the second Nigerian to be arrested for ganja smuggling in the city, The Hindu newspaper said. Here is the account of The Hindu on the arrest: Assistant Commissioner of Police (CTF) I. Chittibabu said that based on credible information about the illegal transportation of ganja they conducted a raid near the Government Eye Hospital and nabbed Chuks, when he was trying to smuggle 24 kg of dry ganja worth Rs. 96,000. Investigation revealed that Chuks had visited Visakhapatnam and some other parts in Vizag Agency five times in the past few months and he had smuggled ganja to Hyderabad, Nagpur, Delhi and Chennai. Chuks visited some remote areas in the Agency and established contacts with local ganja smugglers to procure the contraband from them, said Mr. Chittibabu. The seized hemp also was procured from the Agency area. “We are yet to ascertain the profession of the foreigner in India and we failed to unlock the mobile phone of the foreigner. Though we have seized the passport of the Nigerian, we are yet to ascertain whether it is genuine or fake,” Mr. Chittibabu added. The Nigerian has been handed over to Inspector of Dwaraka police station for further investigation. Last year, another Nigerian, identified as Ikechukwu Augustine, 23, was arrested by the CTF team and about 50 kg of dry ganja was recovered from him. Augustine also had come to India on a tourist visa and established contacts with the local ganja traders with the help of few persons in Visakhapatnam SOURCE: http://www.trendcabal.com/2017/05/indian-police-arrests-nigerian-man-with.html?m=1

- Prophet TB Joshua confirms moving church to Israel - The man of God revealed that Israeli government offered him both the and facilities - TB Joshua further explained that the relocation would help people appreciate what his ministry has been contributing to the Nigerian economy Controversial Nigerian man of God, Prophet TB Joshua has taken everyone by surprise as he openly declared his intentions to move his ministry to Israel. TB Joshua made this revelation on Sunday, April 30, in church. He added that the he has been offered both land and facilities in an area around the biblical site of the Sea of Galilee so he can organize meetings for international pilgrims. He said: “This is where my Father in Heaven came from, it’s non-negotiable. It’s the best place for you to meet Prophet T.B. Joshua. After your healing, blessing and deliverance, you can move around all the spiritual monuments which will establish your faith. This is the most persecuted ministry in the world. Who are the people persecuting the ministry? My people, Africa. That is why I choose to live a lonely life. If you want to see me, come to this church. I don’t go out. It has not been easy because I don’t know who is a friend or who is an enemy. If you learn T.B. Joshua is not around, I am in a revival. I live in the church here. I don’t have a house outside. Anytime you pray, remember Africa in prayer. Many heroes and great people have been chased out of Africa. There are many geniuses in the Western world who are originally from Africa. That is why I choose to live a lonely life. If you want to see me, come to this church. I don’t go out. It has not been easy because I don’t know who is a friend or who is an enemy. If you learn T.B. Joshua is not around, I am in a revival. I live in the church here. I don’t have a house outside.” However, Prophet TB Joshua further revealed saying: “Where you are not celebrated is the best place to stay, to get strength. When you are in the midst of a battle, you are building yourself. That is why I decided to stay where I am not celebrated here in Nigeria. When the grace of God is amid challenges, it gets stronger. Your life can preach a better sermon than your mouth.” He further released pictures of him having meeting with the Israel officials of his Facebook handle. He posted the pictures with the caption: "Many of you don’t know why I have this passion. I want to pray for people; I want to see people healed and delivered. I derive joy seeing people free, seeing people laugh! I am just telling you the secret. I derive that joy. If there is anything that gives me joy, that is it! If you are not happy and God uses me to give you happiness that day I will not eat. I am not fasting but I easily forget to eat. I have that joy." Anthony Joshua will pocket the sum of £15 million (N8.2 billion) for beating Wladimir Klitschko at weekend – the biggest purse earned by a British fighter on home soil. Only Ricky Hatton has picked up more in one night as he earned in excess of £15 million for his clash with Floyd Mayweather Jnr in 2007 in Las Vegas. The heavyweight clash at Wembley Stadium generated huge interest, which reach 1.5 milliom sales on pay-per-view, eclipsing the previous record of 1.15 milliom for Mayweather’s clash with Manny Pacquiao in 2015, which was 100,000 above the American’s fight with Hatton. Joshua’s defence of the IBF belt against Klitschko will also generate gate receipts worth about £7 million. US television rights sold for almost £2.4 million, with Showtime and HBO sharing the rights. German TV RTL has also paid about £4 million to broadcast the event in the country where Ukrainian Klitschko is a star. More than £1 million is being pumped in by sponsors, while merchandising could also break the £1 million barrier to deliver an eye-watering total well in excess of £40 million. There are at least 535 Nigerians in prison in China, jailed for drug-related offences. Sources in Guangdong Province in The People’s Republic of reported at the weekend, that at least two out of 200 Nigerians who visit the country are arrested on drug-related offences in the capital, Guangzhou. An official of the Consulate in Guangzhou, who declined to be named because he was not authorised to speak with the media, told Daily Sun: “Almost every week, we have drug-related issues. On Thursday, April 27, 2017, officials of the Nigerian Consulate went to some prisons to interview some of our citizens there and it was drug-related issues all through. Most of the drug pushers are from a particular state and a particular local government from that state. On the average, 200 Nigerians come into Guangzhou, and, out of that figure, at least, two are arrested on drug-related charges. “The office also attends to three drugs issues on a weekly basis, which are either for arrests or going to court.” He added that depending on the size of the drugs, the Nigerian convicts were either handed a death sentence or given long-term sentences. Earlier, at a parley with the Nigerian media delegation, Nigeria’s Consul-General in China, Ambassador Wale Oloko, disclosed that 70,000 Nigerians visit Guangzhou, annually. In company with his deputy, Adamu Shuaibu, the Head of Consular and Immigration Affairs, Omeh Nwokpoku, and the Head of Chancery, Falusi Oladapo, Oloko, who resumed in February this year, also disclosed that China was moving from from manual to robotics and smart services. With that in mind, some private Chinese investors, he said, were already visible along the Lagos, Ogun, and Abuja axis, with acquisition of thousands of hectares of land for industrial purposes. He said: “They want to have manufacturing facilities all over the world. So, Africans, Nigerians are the starting point because they can hardly meet the conditionality of the western worlds.” Facilitator of the visit to the Consulate and Chairman of Blue Diamond Group, Festus Mbisiogu, however, disclosed: “Chinese investors in Nigeria prefer to construct railways, roads and airports because there is no conducive environment in Nigeria, with power being a major disadvantage. Only few Chinese investors are into manufacturing in Nigeria but there’s trade imbalance between both countries.” SOURCE: http://www.trendcabal.com/2017/05/535-nigerians-in-china-prisons-for-drug.html?m=1

Police warn against mass rally in Abuja Organised labour at the weekend said it would mobilise workers to protest moves to remove minimum wage from the exclusive to concurrent legislative list. The President, United Labour Congress (ULC), Joe Ajaero, disclosed this at the pre-2017 May Day seminar organised by ULC, in Lagos. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the concurrent list stipulates that powers are shared jointly by both the central and regional or state governments as stipulated in the Constitution, even though both governments can make law on matters that fall under the concurrent list, the central government is supreme. This means that in case there is a conflict of law made by both governments, the law will supersedes that of the regional or state government. According to Ajaero, the move is ill-motivated to deny workers their right to live well which is what some of the governors have been advocating but we will mobilise against them. He said that If the planned delisting of wage from the exclusive legislative list succeeds, it means that the country would no longer have a national minimum wage. “It means that each state of the federation will be empowered to legislate and arrive at what should be their respective minimum,” he said. Meanwhile the Commissioner of Police (CP) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Musa Kimo has warned those planning to stage a protest during Workers’ Day to desist from it. A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Usen Omorodion yesterday in Abuja said intelligence report has shown that a “certain group identified as the indigenous people of Biafra (IPOB) has threatened to take over the street of FCT in the name of registering their protest.” The police warned that any individual or group found indulging in acts capable of breaching the peace, especially protests that may result in the breakdown of law and order in the nation’s capital would be charged as appropriate. A Saudi Arabian man who renounced Islam and made disparaging remarks about the prophet Muhammad has been sentenced to death. Authorities became aware of Ahmad Al-Shamri in 2014 after he uploaded a series of videos reflecting his views on social media. He was subsequently arrested on charges of atheism and blasphemy, faced trial and was sentenced to death in February 2015. Al-Shamri is reportedly in his early 20s and comes from the city of Hafar Al-Batin, located in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province. The defendant initially pleaded insanity, saying that he was under the influence of drugs and alcohol when he made the comments, Hala Dosari, an advisory board member of Human Rights Watch (HRW) told the Washington Post. She added that “his trial focused heavily on Quranic law and little on any mitigating mental illness. As a result, Al-Shamri has been sentenced to death for being an atheist.” After a lengthy appeals process, Saudi Arabia’s Supreme Court ruled against Al-Shamri on Tuesday (25 April). According to Amnesty International, the Gulf oil giant carried out at least 154 executions in 2016. The country has been habitually criticised by human rights groups over its human rights record, but it is still a member of the UN’s Human Rights Council. Its term expires in 2019. Leaving Islam is punishable by death in the ultra-conservative kingdom. “The conservative religious folks have full control of the justice system,” said Adam Coogle, Middle East researcher at HRW. “Judges come from religious seminaries in Saudi Arabia. They see themselves as preservers of Saudi Arabia’s character as an Islamic state,” he added. “And they come down hard on people who step out of line.” Saudi Arabia was ranked third by Amnesty International for recorded executions in 2016 behind China (which was in the thousands) and Iran (567+). The true figures are thought to be significantly higher as the figures only cover the judicial use of the death penalty. Those sentenced to death are killed by beheading or shooting. Social media users were divided over Al-Shamri’s death sentence, with some saying such an extreme course of action is unjustified. Others, however, appeared to celebrate the verdict and even went as far as saying they wished “there could be live streaming” when the execution is carried out.
