Politics / Re: Speaker Bankole Is More Corrupt Than Patricia Etteh - Keyamo by OmoSekina: 11:44am On Oct 27, 2008
Reading this thread can only make take a deep breath. Is there anything wrong with this our black skin? Is our complexion contributory to what issues befall us? Really i am just confused about these issues. Whats all these greed about. Is it hereditary?

For me whether anyone says its an allegation or whatever name you call it, there is no smoke without fire. Remember they have not come to the public to refute the allegation, all they are concerned with is distracting the general public that Keyamo is being used.

I thought Bankole belongs to the younger generation and think of his future and that of his nuclear family. Is this part of what he learnt from the US? I really think that his stay there should have changed his reasoning from the status quo.

I am indeed disappointed in this young man and i think he should resign "honourably" as he is called.

Festus Keyamo is a man that deals with real issues and not shadows.
Politics / American Embassy! Watch Your Back And Clean Up This Shame by OmoSekina: 11:33am On Oct 27, 2008
Thank God for a forum like nairaland where we can make our views known on issues that bother us as a people. This is the only country i know where if there is a problem, the government has not put up any facility for its citizens to complain and get redress.

I have been trying to get a date for interview at the American embassy, and would you believe that there is an inner caucus that is using this to make money that ranges from N10k to N30k to schedule a date for interview. Somehow, i would really assume that the authorities at the embassy do not know. Honestly, do they really know? These questions are begging for answers or am i really on my own? Or whats going on in this country? I have been trying to get this date for the past 2 months and my people in US keep asking me whats holding me and i tell them its only when i pay some tout somewhere before i can get an appointment date. The thought of parting with my money for this cause nauseates me. would i be contributing to already irredeemable state of corruption in our country? Please am i on my own or is there something i am not getting right?

Please i need help on this. Do i go ahead and bribe and hurt my concience all because i want to go on holiday in america?
Politics / Re: Is Lagos State A Muslim State? by OmoSekina: 2:35pm On Oct 14, 2008
We need to get these records straight. I did not post this thread to raise controversies that would generate into debasement of selves. Its really fore the purpose of observations and records. So that if it happens again, we would then know if it was just a co-incident or not. However, my point at this time is to look at the Lagos of the future. Who looks like a christian that is likely to succeed Fashola in the present dispensation? I dont have a problem with Fashola, however, my problem is with Tinubu the "Godfada". You would not imagine that even at the so called Governor's forum i watched, Tinubu was shameless in sitting in the front row right beside Fashola's consisting of other Lagos EXCOs. I s he still a cabinet member of Lagos state? If your a king maker, i think there is more honour in taking a back sit and be given all the respect you deserve from afar

I see an Adedibu in Tinubu, becoming an Adeditunubu. Dictating who bcomes local government chairman and other officials in Lagos.

I am of the opinion that if things continue like this, it would only become whoever Adeditunubu has annointed that can rule in Lagos. I dont think this would help in the kind of democracy we are building.

I dont what you guys think o.
Business / Re: Glo Going Against Etisalat? by OmoSekina: 4:56pm On Oct 13, 2008
I do not like it wen we get carried away by little pecks. Introducing freebees at the inception of a particular product is not extra-ordinary. Mostly when a new product is introduced into the market, the 1st objective especially in a competitive industry is to share in the existing market and later brand positioning comes. The question for me at this moment is what do i need another line for? I currently have about 8 phones (GSM & CDMA) lines; like a lot of us do; as unimmaginable is that is. However the main reason is not because we like them, but simply because they are usually not very efficient, and we must talk. we cant do without talking. so etisalat or glo or anytin, for me to buy any new line, the only condition for now, is if the telecoms company can give us free weekend call allround, ehen them we can talk, otherwise all of them are ojoro people.

On a patriotism level, let glo continue to glo. always remember na our be our own o.

What do you guys think?
Politics / Is Lagos State A Muslim State? by OmoSekina: 11:37am On Oct 13, 2008
In as much as i dont usually delve into religious issues, i cannot but observe and make comments on this and indeed i dont mind whose ox is gored. I had taken out time a while back and looked at the state called "Lagos"; and about 2 months ago i told a gathering of friends that Lagos state is a muslim state. My friends came up with different opinions; some said they dont think so and some said they have never thought about it etc

However, i was only able to confirm my sincere opinion on Friday when Lagos state government held its government forum marking its 1st 500 days in office. I was chocked but not so shocked that in the commencement of the occasion as usual prayers would be administered. To my great surprise, prayer was only taken in islam. I thought about our leaders (so called). Could that have been an omission or what? As supposed, despite the fact that i was born and bred here in Lagos and the fact that this state has become so cosmopolitan; accommodating all tribes and tongues, knowing fully well that it was not only muslims that voted for the present administration.

I really find this very absurd and not acceptable to the people of this great state. For record purposes, if this was a mistake, we are not looking forward to that kind of mistake again.
Phones / Re: Glo Internet Connectivity: A Farce Or Reality? by OmoSekina: 2:21pm On Oct 09, 2008

Phones / Re: Glo Internet Connectivity: A Farce Or Reality? by OmoSekina: 2:02pm On Oct 09, 2008
After my soujourn to all the networks, i was generally pained because in my heart of heart i thought it was time to dump the MTN network for my personla reasons raging from the fact that
1. The money made in that country is usually transfered to south africa
2. The state of their unabated epileptic service
3. And also their terms of employing our people

So in my case i thought i could go patriotic and use Glo because it is suppose to our own. At least the money still remains within our country (even if not all) and a feeling of promoting what belongs to us.

So why would the same company that has provided the 3g service like mtn make life difficult for its own people? Oga mike please have a rethink on this matter. Afterall, we dnt access these services free of charge. If i can browse with my e61i on MTN (a south african company) even as a pre paid subscriber, then it would definitely a shame for Glo not to be able to afford me that same opportunity in our locality.

Oga mike, always know that we have in our mind, because if not for you, the prices of phones and lines wouldnt have come down.

But please "deregulate this your internet browing regime abeg"
Phones / Re: Glo Internet Connectivity: A Farce Or Reality? by OmoSekina: 1:49pm On Oct 09, 2008
Just 4 the muslim break a forthnight ago, i mistakenly locked my MTN line and it immediately requested for my PUK, ofcourse i cant ever remember that could have been after over 1 million welcome back packs and i decided to call the customer service line and all it told me is to go to their website. I was so pisssssssssssssssssssssssssd. So would that imply that someonw that has an MTN line in a pace like kauran nomoda in sokoto state would need internet connectivity to resolve a PUK problem and i decided automatically that i would by God's grace dump my mtn line, so my soujourn into other networks starts.

Glo
I have already reiterated that story

zain
When i got to the customer service centre in ikeja, they said i came late and that i should come the next day between 8am and 1pm. and behols when i got there, they said their server could not capture the application for the activation from the main server, so i knew i was done for, all for this internet wahala.

So i contemplated going to the mtn customer service centre in opebi ikeja and to my greatest shock and amazement i waited on a queue for about 10 mins and someone had come to attend to me in a jiffy. I was shocked to my bone marrow and i told the lady that it seems MTN has changed o.

Finally, i had to come back to my MTN. It seems my opinion about MTN might change gradually.

Kudos to MTN
Phones / Glo Internet Connectivity: A Farce Or Reality? by OmoSekina: 4:31pm On Oct 08, 2008
i tire o. i went to glo office in ikeja today to find out if my nokia e61i can be connected to to the internet and all they said was that if you have that kind of phone you must be a contract line holder. so enquired, what does it take to convert to that and lady said i would ist of all pay for contract line and in short the whole amount for starters comes to about N20k+ and i would be paying close to about 7k monthly. But i can use lower end phones without going thru this same wahala. I was amazed.

My question is, what could have precipitated this kind of decision from the company, so if you carry an e61i now and you still want to use your pay as you go, you cant abi? its a shame, i immediately removed the sim and put zain. I am sorry, i loved glo so much before, but for once i am so so disapponted. They should have a rethink.
