Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by Omotolale: 2:38pm On Apr 25, 2018
Good day everyone.
Please, I'll like to know if anyone has been to IOM Lagos recently for UK TB screening for visa application.
How soon after the test will I get the result and how much does it cost?

Thank you in anticipation for your prompt responses.

Congratulations! So happy for you. I've also aced IELTS for UKVI and CBT. How do I get an employer please?
Inkredible:
The Journey so far.

After I passed my ieltsUKVI, I contacted the agency someone suggested here. Well they were keen to run with me thus prompting me to "do fast" and write the CBT.
Within that period, a lot happened. I got mobbed in Lagos twice. Phones, laptops gone. Well, let's just say I got feed up and relented in my pursuit.

Broke and having lost all my study materials, I was just not feeling it again. Thanks to gratefulme40 and a handful of friends that still encouraged me. Fast forward a month, I registered and passed my CBT.

It was not magic, I was just angry I can't come and use my "last card" to write exam and fail it. I studied my eyes out and it payed off. Na God grace sha.

I got a job offer before my CBT, so it was pretty damn fast and expensive journey till my visa came out.

Make no mistake, it ain't easy but not as hard as you'd think it is. All na "mind".

That's my story. Thanks to all who helped me out here. I can't be more grateful. I really appreciate all y'all.

Please help a sister!
Must I register Research project and Teaching Practice for exam before my results for the duo are released?
I registered for the courses on the old portal( since 2015) and both results are missing now. What can I do?
Some people are saying it's because I didn't register the courses for exam. How true is this?
Someone should please answer me

Thank you so much. Can you please help me confirm? I've been a Nurse Educator for over 5 years now. What are my chances? I'm planning to write IELTS next month.
gratefulme40:

I think your clinical experience should be within the last 4 years. Not very sure.

As for your friend, there is no chance unfortunately. She needs to get 7 at least in all the bands
Travel / Re: Nigerian Nurses And Midwives With The Dream Of Working Abroad Let's Meet Here. by Omotolale: 10:20am On Jul 13, 2017
Must I have recent clinical experience before I can get a sponsor?
A friend had 6.5 in writing on two occasions, other bands were above 7. Is there any opportunity for her as a HCA pending when she gets 7 in Writing?
gratefulme40:

I will suggest you get your IELTs
Do and pass your CBT

And then find an employer. You can get an employer by yourself or let an angency do it for you.

The importance of getting an employer at this stage is that they will pay for your osce which costs almost £1k

Besides the cost, they will prepare you for your osce. Chances of passing osce on your own with your own preparation is very slim.

Do make sure you choose a hospital as your employer not a care home or nursing home. Failure rate for osce is very high amongst foreign nurses recruited by care homes and nursing homes.

NB: an employer is same as sponsor. They provide sponsorship for work visa.

Hello house,
ever since i came across this thread on nairaland I had a rethink about the job am doing here in nigeria.I have dedicated 2 good days to go through every info on this thread. I must commend everyone of you who have in one way contributed. Now down to my question,I have been working with the state government for like 4 years (school of nursing)now, though had some clinical experience for like 5 years before switching to academic line.I want to know if am to use my previous work experience when applying for CES and also when applying to BON or I should state my present job designation.I would still want to know if am expected to apply for both Cgfns andBON at the same time.please I would like to get a proper clarifications.thank you guys once again
Someone should please answer this question. How does someone who previously had a clinical experience but currently working as a nurse educator get an agency to sponsor him/her? Or better still, what's the alternative to getting registered as a nurse in the States?
@auschris Please, how did you scale through seeing that you were once in the academic field

God will breathe on your efforts too, I used ieltsbuddy for writing. In fact, I read it on the morning of the exam. My score was not too bad, 7. Just abide by the rule, cross check your work, no spelling mistakes or grammar wahala.
You will be good to go. Meanwhile, there's an IELTS forum on Nairaland too.

Which type of IELTS did you register for? #68k academic IELTS or #81520 IELTS for UKVI?
Help a sister please, I'm in a fix

Pips just a general advice any NRN coming to Australia as a students please be careful of agencies like PFL or BCIE. Unto masters in nursing. In most cases the program is useless as upon completion you will be unable to register with their board. Its best you do bsc graduate entry.
Don't be a victim
Also Chief Barbie how do I get my council certificate I graduated 2012.
Anyone in Brisbane who can help a friend and colleague out? She had been there for over one month, no job and she needs to pay school fees. She's studyin MPH at Queensland Univ

Good afternoon all, please I need a clarification.
About 2 months ago, I made a payment and my account was credited, unfortunately i forgot to collect the payment slip.
Now that the portal is down the next option is to present the payment slip.
My question is, can I get the payment printout from the bank I made the payment (zenith bank)?
I don't wabt to waste time and money, I'm having exam on Monday and I will have to travel to the bank which is far from me before travelling to Abeokuta for my exam.
Please I will be glad if anyone could help me out.
The receipt would have been sent to the email address you registered with. Check your mailbox
