Nwanne kedu ije.. longest time, how is your studies in China? Am in Osumenyi right now, so many big boys are in town. Anambra is on a steady rise, as for the flyovers they did not stop work on the two rather they focused on crossing the beams on one while they cast the other ones. The dual carriageway from 3-3 will terminate at the airport site. Obiano is a technocrat he knows how to go about the funding.. Nnewi1stSon: *Clears throat*

Choi, my Igbo is quite poor.
Anyways, You guys have really done a great deal of work on this thread, both the builders and the obasanjo picture posting derailers.
That Obiano has achieved a lot in a short period is no fallacy but fact, but there is no man that hasn't got shortcomings, and while everybody here (or most at least ) have chosen to keep mute on those ,I, being objective as I always am will show the both sides of the coin, not minding whose ox gets gored.
Ask anybody in Anambra stare, and the first thing they'll tell you, they observed from Obiano's Government was security, his approach was non ever seen before in our part. Massive intelligence work that led to capture of criminals who felt invisible, leaving more in flight. It's commendable he started with security, because no place thrives in a blanket of insecurity. Places which hitherto were out of bounds at late hours due to the activities of criminals(Upper Iweka and environs) were now safe.
His investment drive and infrastructure renaissance is quite impressive and unlike our former business minded governor, Obiano appears to have taste for fun, as is evident with the Christmas decorations around the entire state(Even my Village ).
My only concern is the rate at which new projects are being proposed everyday when work previously proposed ones are yet to start. For instance the dualisation of the 3-3 road in Onitsha upto otuocha river is yet to brginbegin, more than 5 months after it was proposed, same as the amusement park at Ziks Mausoleum. Everyone Here is rejoicing about the progress work on the Awka flyover, but do you guys know, work has been stopped on the two remaining flyovers just so there would be enough money (or so I presume) to complete one?
Work on the mall at Nnewi has stopped(As of the last time I was there 2weeks ago)
Obiano is a good man with good intentions, but he must understand that Anambra is not a super rich state and thus propose only projects he has funds to complete. I learnt he abandoned most of the roads started by Peter obi in main market.
That is all I have to say for now. |

Erosion project is a federal govt project. Even the ones in my town uga and ekwulobia has been worked and it has since disappeared. Though I have not seen that of agulu, nanka and oko. Erosion is something that affects most southern states. tandj: Pls people, I hv been reading a lot about d developmental strides in our state. It even reached my family house, thanks to our CIC, but I wanna touch some issues I hv not seen treated here b4(maybe it has, I may be wrong) What is d our govtdoing about d deep erosion in nanka-oko-ogbu straight to agulu and then bursting out to onitsha owerri road.
Have any of u been to nanka to be precise? I have. D people of one village there(amakor nanka) has to construct a new road bc of what deep gully erosion has don to d only road leading to their village. So far govt has done absolutely nothing to stop d erosion rampage on that community. They will only come with their camera and press people, promise heaven and earth and it ends there. Its d igbo spirit that made those people continue to struggle and fight for their lives else, Least I forget, ekwueme house is close to d erosion sight in oko.
I'm using this platform to appeal to those in charge to do something for these people. D greatest mistake I made was not snaping pictures though I was afraid, the place makes one feel dizzy and sway.
Are there no nanka, oko ogbu, agulu people here? Can't u guys advocate for ur various towns? Go and snap pictures and litter them on social media, that way I'm sure the message will be delivered faster.
If there is a shortfall in d development of ur town or u see where things r not done well in ur area, open up and talk about it, picture too if u can. These r what we need, d good, bad and ugly sides of anambra state. Udo dili unu o. Happy ekeresimesi everybody! |

Stfu. Though there are a lot to criticize about imo state but I rather allow the indigenes to criticize themselves. Odenigbo didnt criticize imo state what he said was that all you said up there are all lies which we all know. You went ahead to say that your state is better than ours in terms of development which is not only laughable but also lies from the pit of hell. We all know the development indices..and if allow that to be our guide then our state is far more developed than yours. You saw how i cautioned your brother millionnaireman when he was saying that for imo state to develop they must borrow a model of developing all parts of the state simultaneously just like ours has done and keep doing and it is working which is why World Development Partner applauded the state. Its because I was trying avoid another round of clash since you do not like hearing such harsh truths that was why I quickly cautioned millionnaireman. These are the people who are sincere in their spirit. Let everybody face their state because I do not want anything that will keep bringing me here. Abagworo: You have a very big self esteem crisis. Odenigbo is doing the right criticism and I am also airing my views which differs from his views without bitterness. It is left for me to prove him wrong by bringing at least pictorial evidence from 5 to 10 LGAs.
I am sure that if someone makes this simple kind of criticism in Anambra thread rather than engage in constructive argument you will start a fight. Grow up.
BTW who are the "us" and "their" in your comment? |
Politics › Re: Few Pics From Imo State by oneeast: 10:46am On Dec 20, 2014 |
Nwanne abeg leave this thread for them. I dont like arguing when we know the harsh true state of things on their urban centers and communities. Let us leave there thread. Abeg OdenigboAroli: Lol,this guy is on another level. Do you even try to read out to yourself what you write before posting them. I like Obiano but I still admit he needs to put in more work. How can you openly say Rochas developed all nook and crany of Imo? People will not respect you when you lie like that. |
Politics › Re: Few Pics From Imo State by oneeast: 7:00am On Dec 20, 2014 |
Nwanne abeg focus on the subject matter of this thread so that it wont suffer another derail. Leave out other state or states out of this thread and focus on Imo state development which is the subject of discourse. Abeg. Dalu millionaireman: For people who do not understand, or still refuse to understand:
if every Imo state governor is like Rochas Okorocha who holds strongly to the belief that the capital development budget of the state must be deployed on providing modern development infrastructures in only the state capital, in due course, most of Imo state population shall migrate to that expanding state capital - Owerri - for comfortable living. And shortly, the capital shall have ugly SLUM suburbs.
I shall repeat - without mincing words:
in four years, Gov. Okorocha's development projects outside the state capital, Owerri, are the attempts to expand some roads in Okigwe and Orlu, as well as in other rural roads - but most of these road projects are either abandoned or yet to be completed after nearly four years - as shown by photographers on this thread.
Imagine the level of arrested development in a town whose roads are scraped and disjointed, with electricity poles knocked off for more than three years. Gov. Okorocha never tried to have such situations in Owerri.
Trust Anambra state governors, nearly every community in Anambra state is swiftly provided by the state govt with modern infrastructures;
the three zonal towns of Awka, Onitsha and Nnewi mostly account for a large share of distribution of govt development infrastructures. That is how a state is run.
The objective to create states in Nigeria was to have even development of all areas in the state, NEVER to try to make any state capital a "New York" overnight, while the rest of the state is being overtaken by rain floods and weeds. |

What is this pig looking for in the gathering of sane and decent people? I can see you like looking for trouble why not go to the thread we have created for you and continue filling them with your useless developments? You can say that your state is not doing well because it is very clear like night and day that your state is not doing well and stop joining our progressive state with your retrogressive one because as for my state we are doing perfectly well ahead of the pack in all facets of development. I have told you before that you do not have a state what you have is a 'hell fire' as a state. Learn to live with that fact. Everything is wrong with your state which is tied at the shrine as shown in the pictures where your governor was tied. Stop writing my state and that your 'hell' on the same sentence. Its further an insult to compare your poorly governed state to ours which has best road network in Nigeria. Stop talking when others are talking because you have to face reality for your own good. I repeat you do not have a state what you have is 'hell' if there is one in Nigeria. I have a enough pictures of your filthy state of which if I display them the ofe people will use it against Ndigbo. So learn to shut up your mouth because your state is the least in all aspects of development in the East. Go and elect a governor first and fix those horrible roads and dirty environment which is the hallmark of your state. B2mario: you are still making wrong reference to Aba after all i told. You are 2big to display such childish attitude.
You alone is not Anambra and cannot be, that area known as Anambra today has been before you were born and it will be you go. Stop hiding the truth, what most people are saying here are the true condition of Anambra, i snapped some pix last time i was there but my fear is that if i post them now you will tell people that they are fake pics and invade Abia thread with rubbish pics.
Try and be constructive sometimes, all is not well when things are not well. Don't claim be comfortable while living in a poor condition. Most of us here are travellers and we know the true state of your state.
To me, in SE Abia and Anambra are not doing well considering the huge amount they receive from the Federation account. And we Abians have criticised our state govt and allowed other igbos to criticised it as well but i don't know why you can not allow people to express their view about your state. It's too bad bro! |
