Of course when we allows it happens it will be our fault too. Governors at state level should get to work instead of waiting for FG to do everything for them. Obiano deployed intelligence gathering drones and CCTVs at the strategic points in Anambra to scientifically track and check criminal activities. What are the northern leaders doing?

bushdoc9919: Great....I hope when the next kidnap episode happens in the South East...you would appreciate the rest of the country saying it is the South East fault, and they brought it on themselves.

Better watch it.

Where are the northern leaders? Don't they have leaders again? They are busy positioning themselves again to rule Nigeria when their land is being ravaged. Let the north sort themselves out. What a people!

I will keep restating that the north brought this monster on themselves. They use their people to kill their own people. What foolishness!

GEJ till 2019!

texazzpete: 1. Stop these childish lies. You were rejoicing. You said you were 'feeling cool' as you read reports of vulnerable teenagers being blown to bits and machine-gunned to death.

2. Who is 'the north'? Is it the children on the streets of Kano that created this problem? Is it the kids in this school that have been killed?
If your beef is with the past leaders of the north, why not focus your ire on them instead of jubilating when teenagers are killed violently?

3. If you can agree that the problem of the north is illiteracy, why are you unconcerned when schools that are raising a new generation of northerners to fix the problem are attacked and killed?

Instead of thinking of how to craft a rebuttal, I suggest you sit down, look deep within yourself for a residual spark of humanity and ask why you cannot dredge up more empathy for the plight of your fellow Nigerians.

Don't worry, I will create the thread myself and furnish it with pictures once I resume my annual leave. Spyder should continue with his own task here!

Handsomegod: @CJ looolzzz@limpopo! @Spyder! Remember ur promise o! Kindly find time out of ur busy schedule and create the Anambra thread so we can launch it officially with Chino's expected pics of projectws in our Omambala cities. Enugu thread is a moving train and the trendiest topic on NL! Time to divest the brainstorming and mutual jabs. @Chino,endeavour to get close and clear pics so we can better disect the quality of work done on them.Interestingly, the PR team of 2 south eastern states(names withheld) are ardent followers of this thread since men started discussing ingrated and inclusive regional development plans for alaigbo. By d way, there was a certain enignmatic dude known as" smartalk" who created a series titled "preparing the east for post-nigeria future" and he captured all we have been discussing here even to the point of philosophical foundations of the future igbo land.d dude was so on point and I wish he will jump in as well.

What are you talking about? This report was in July precisely 18th. Go through the report, that was when he extracted from the contractors to complete the project within 10months and this is September.

cjrane: I read this story at Obiano's 100 days in office: http://sunnewsonline.com/new/?p=72703

Now it is 6 months in office, so something should be available since the last time abi?

i want to be optimistic and believe the 7 months timeline for completion.
PoliticsRe: Enugu, The Pride Of The East. by oneeast: 5:00pm On Sep 17, 2014
Cj, I am not bluffing we shall start shopping realtime in those 3 malls in the next 7months time or less from now.

On the heels of his first 100 days in office and in furtherance of the objective of continuity, completion, commissioning and commencement of new projects, the Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano has embarked on inspection tour of projects in parts of Awka, Onitsha and Nnewi with a view to improving infrastructure across the state.

The three strategic cities of the state were agog as Governor Obiano inspected ongoing projects and commenced new ones. The governor gave the contractors handling the various projects including the three shopping malls in Awka, Onitsha and Nnewi a maximum of 10 months deadline to complete the job.

The projects sites include, the Onitsha shopping mall, which houses mega projects like international hotel, shopping mall and a convention centre and has a capacity to accommodate 5,000 persons. The premises houses Radison Blue, an adjoining hotel project, which is planned as the first world class hospitality spot in Onitsha.

Speaking soon after inspecting the projects, Governor Obiano said that he had extracted commitment from the contractor handling the projects that they would be completed in 10 months’ time
, adding that a wide expanse of roads would link the three projects. He stated that the projects would have been ready in three months but for the shoddy performance of the previous contractor, which led to the revocation of the contract and generation of certificates and full mobilisation of the new contractor.

Engr. Emejulu, CEO of Akiota Works Limited to take over and deliver the projects on time.

According to Obiano “we are going to bring to the State a new shopping experience quite different to the business environment they are used to. The event centre will attract functions from neighbouring States in particular.” Giving further assurance, the Governor said “the entire place will be very important in South-East zone. We have 40 apartment buildings coming up. I thank my predecessor, for having the vision to start the project and we are definitely going to complete it in a record time.”

Speaking to newsmen, the contractor, Engr. Emejulu said that the original plan of the contract was to have about 90 rooms, but following adjustments made by authorities of Radisson Blue, the number of rooms increased to 150 rooms. He said the project was at the 7th floor stage, assuring that the job would be ready in January, 2014, as according to him, government had shown enough zeal to carry out the projects and fully mobilized his firm for the contract as agreed.

Governor Willie Obiano was and received by equally enthusiastic residents and traders at Nnewi as he stormed the Shoprite Centre located at the former Nkwo-Nnewi Triangle where he appreciated the pioneering business wizardly of the indigenes of the area led by the late Sir Louis Philip Odumegwu-Ojukwu, whom he recalled was so successful in business that when the Queen of England visited Nigeria many decades ago, he offered the Federal government his personal Rolls Royce Car to chauffer her.

The Governor told the contracting firm, traders, residents and natives that he came on an inspection visit to assess the ongoing work, noting that “what we are constructing here is unprecedented. We don’t have this type of Mall anywhere. The car park is on top of the Mall, It is a befitting edifice to support the business acumen of Nnewi people”

Continued the governor: “Nnewi people are enterprising. We are giving them a Mall so that they can have a befitting business experience. The building will be completed by December this year while business will commence in April 2015. Governor Obiano assured that the road around the site would be dualized in anticipation of an increase in traffic, expressing confidence that the premises would take any number of vehicle given the fact that vehicles would be parked on top of the project while cultural activities of the people would also take place on top of the project.

Governor Obiano called on the people to support the All Progressives Grand Alliance and his government, the governor assured that he would continue with the projects started by his predecessor n the spirit of continuity, stressing that the “we are trying to introduce some other ways of doing business in a comfortable atmosphere,” adding that his administration was highlighting security one of its enablers for which the Operation Nkpochapu had been moved to Nnewi and fully mobilized for operations.

Speaking while receiving the Governor the Nnewi North Local Government Chairman, Chief Emeka Ojukwu junior thank him for coming to Nnewi to ensure that projects are going according to plan and assured that the local Government and the people are delighted with his stewardship and development projects. http://sunnewsonline.com/new/?p=72703
Cj, I am not bluffing we shall start shopping realtime in those 3 malls in the next 7months time or less from now.

cjrane: Bros, believe me: I AM VERY HAPPY TO HEAR THAT.
Obiano should hasten the pace and complete those key projects. Has he broken ground at the Nnewi site?

I want Anambra malls to be completed quickly, Abia Malls to be completed and perhaps Rochas will have some pity and build a real mall in Owerri too.
Who knows, Abakaliki may get one if the people there press their governor to tow the line of providing modern shopping and entertainment mall in the city.

Bia Chino, Ihe a burukwa eziokwu ! shocked

I am not rejoicing about the death of the people. I am only pained that the north created this monster that is ravaging it today. While their leaders have their children oversees, they used these Koran brainwashed children of others for their selfish purposes. So its a northern affair they should deal with it. I have not heard that a child of northern leader was killed in a blast or do they not have children too?

The problem of the north is illiteracy, their leaders used Koran to brainwash them to the extent that they could kill and destroy all in the name of their allah.

The north is its own problem afterwards they have ruled this country for over 35yrs out of 50yrs of its existence but still yet they are ravaged with horrible poverty and disease. What has those past rulers did to educate the north?

texazzpete: A school was bombed.

A Federal college. So you can expect some Christians there. And religious inclination aside, those people are Kids, the children we all hope will come out and help to solve the massive issues of illiteracy and ignorance in the North.

And here you are, rejoicing over the deaths of teenagers and youths!

Curses be on you, accursed dolt!

Cj minister of misinformation. cheesy

The 3 malls are all ongoing including the 5 start Agulu Lake Resort and Onitsha Resort. I will be going on my annual leave next week, I will go round the 3 cities and get current pix of all the projects. When I passed the site of Awka mall last month I saw serious construction work ongoing though I didn't pull over!

cjrane: Abeg,
What happened to the Anambra Malls at Onitsha, Nnewi and Awka?
Why the dearth of activities there since Peter Obi left?
Is Obiano having second thoughts about these key programs the people desperately want to see completed and commissioned?
PoliticsRe: Bomb Blast At FCE Kano? by oneeast: 4:24pm On Sep 17, 2014
Hmm! Hun, if the solution to BH is to allow it destroy the entire north and subsequently destroy itself..I think that will be a cool news for us here in Anambra! cool

The north created the monster that is ravaging it they should also stop the monster by themselves. Boko Haram is a northern affair, it does not concern us, so far as they do not cross the Onitsha Niger Bridge with their madness!

GEJ till 2019!

PoliticsRe: Politics Of Landmass And Population: How Does It Affect Development? by oneeast(op): 8:21pm On Sep 15, 2014
FG should look into the Uranium mining going on secretly in Bornu..
PoliticsRe: Uyo Replaces Port Harcourt As Nigeria's 3rd Finest City by oneeast:
Don't even allow anyone talk down on your state- Akwa-Ibom. For the person saying that his state is hosting events in SE- it is a typical lie, it does not host anything as far as SE is concerned. WE are here in the East so we know the whole truth. It does not host anything whatsoever. Tourists and people going on festival vacations are usually going to Uyo or Calabar.

Uyo is only 2nd to Abuja both beauty and otherwise. PH is one huge slum littered with poverty and 'ikwerre type houses' despite the rich oil wealth, though few places are good but they are not up to 3% of the entire state.

Akwa-Ibom is the next big thing to happen to Nigeria..

nigerianvenom: i'm not hating on owerri, never will i cos i stayed there for a yr,my uncle got married to an owerri woman and his kids are presently married to imo men n women,so no hating.buh my problem is with that abagworo,he his a confirm liar.owerri is never beautiful than uyo except the beautification started last month.do u know that the okigwe round about was built with moulded blocks and tiles ?i saw it with my eye.have u being to ama usa quaters?that place is worst than a slum in congo.owerri is a town i love despite abagworo's hate on akwa ibom and other south eastern states.
PoliticsRe: Politics Of Landmass And Population: How Does It Affect Development? by oneeast(op): 6:30pm On Sep 15, 2014
I'm talking of commercial mining that will place Bornu on the world map. The same reason Boko Haram wants a hold on the state.

atlwireles: When will that happen? By the way people are already mining and selling Borno Uranium ore, just as they mined and sold Zamfara lead ore. Till, lead poisoning exposed them.
PoliticsRe: Politics Of Landmass And Population: How Does It Affect Development? by oneeast(op): 6:24pm On Sep 15, 2014
I see Bornu as the future cashcow- uranium deposits

atlwireles: A state like Borno is about 10th on the revenue allocation list. Yet at the bottom of all development indices.
PoliticsRe: Politics Of Landmass And Population: How Does It Affect Development? by oneeast(op): 6:23pm On Sep 15, 2014
U are very precise and concise on ur analysis..

BlackTechnology: Development is more of a product of people's effort

Most indigenes of less developed states are to be held responsible for their states undevelopment

Eg

The resources the indigenes of Borno should have invested into transforming Born into the food and agro-allied base of Africa were spent on preaching the supremacy of Islam which today has given birth to Boko Haram

We must know that development does not fall from heaven but are creation of people's effort
PoliticsRe: Politics Of Landmass And Population: How Does It Affect Development? by oneeast(op): 5:50pm On Sep 15, 2014
U are right on the corruption menace but apart from that those states with large landmass are either plagued by flood or drought as seen in the north which effetctively renders greater percent of the land useless..

tobtap: i totally agree...but the root cause of underdevelopment in those states is caused by CORRUPTION AND IGNORANCE.
PoliticsRe: Politics Of Landmass And Population: How Does It Affect Development? by oneeast(op): 5:45pm On Sep 15, 2014
Your insecurity is actually what is driving you crazy.lol

There are no Igbos in yolobarland except u mean Lagos which an FG enclave.

Nobody is competing with u because u and ur region are still at the heel of development going by the core indices of development I list above only trailing the north. So stop crying when nobody is beating u..

TribalEAST: ....all in a bid to make the southeast look like paradise. Foolishness! Aren't you thesame folks that complain that abia state is very dirty and lacks basic infrastructure? Was it not last week we saw pictures of abia state university looking like a pigry? You guys Lack land for agriculture; even the little you have is steadily getting demolished by erosion. How many standard stadiums do you have in your region? Are your universities in the top 15 in nigeria? How many world class markets do you have in your region that other regions don't have times 3 of it(pls don't mention that dirty araria market)? If you guys have enough jobs iin the southeast, then why do your brothers flee the region to other regions as if it's plagued. An ibo chieftain once said that ibadan alone has more ibos than ebonyi state. What industries do you have down there? How come your youths don't want to work there? Why always lagos, ibadan, kano, kaduna etc? Pls grow up and stop this dick comparison cos it leads your tribe nowhere. The best to do is to try and integrate in this one nigeria cos to think of it, your south east which is vulnerable to erosion won't be enough to contain the whole of ibos that'll return to it. PEACE
