Exactly. It was then one would be looking of strong antivirus up and down. Kaspersky, Avira, AVG etc. Then Free Smadav came along and became my personal best . Light weight and fast.

Then Windows 10 came and I found no need for other antivirus. It just does it job. But wait, it is me or is it that viruses are not longer a thing as it was in the past on PCs?

Viruses is still a thing tho especially when users download malicious software/files online. Normally, if they use windows 10 & newer versions, It should be able to detect it.

People who should be paying extra money for antivirus are Big companies or people who perform lots of financial transactions or data hoarders to avoid Ransomeware.

Windows Defender is all you need nowadays. To spice things up, you can just use Malwarebyte.

As for used phone, I suggest you checkout Redmi Note 9s but it's gonna be hard to find someone that will sell you a neat phone with 6gb 128gb for that price.

For new phone, Then you can checkout Redmi 9t. I got it for the same 80k(6gb 128gb). The processor it has (SD 662) isn't that powerful and might lag on some games on high settings. So u might consider using medium settings instead. It has a 6000mah battery, so you have lot of juice for games and other stuff. There is also custom roms and and development for the phone on xda and telegram. but the community is small. What I do is to join the much active poco m3 groups and channels as both phones are basically the same. What works on poco m3 also works on redmi 9t.

You can google up both phone for info on them.

Both phones are almost the same. RN10P offers more but cost less than mi11 lite
if you want best bang for your buck, go for RN10P. But if you want a more premium looking flagship-like phone and willing to pay more for it, then go for mi 11 lite.
