That usually happens when you eject SD card while read/write operation is still going on. Xiaomi users usually make that mistake when they want to change SIMs without unmounting the SD card first, as sim ejector and SD card ejector is the same.

Guys, my phone just formatted today all odf a sudden. It also formatted my sd card. But my internal storage was untouched. Luckily i backed up both internal and sd card storage to ma pc yesterday. What's the cause of this pls
