Ok. so i have been away for 48hrs now doing some testing and experiments on my RN4X. As a risk taker, taking the risk on ma rn4x was nothing compared to the risks i have taken in life . But as a sharp guy full redwolf twrp backup dy one coner in case of incases

First thing i didwas to unlock botloader which was don under 10mins.

Then i instaled Redwolf recovery.

Red Wolf Recovery is custom recovery based on TWRP source code, however some things are working here slightly different then you might expected. The main objective of this project is to provide stable recovery with features which you have never seen before in a recovery and which have not been accepted for adding to the official source code of TWRP. This recovery is also first recovery on the world with password protection.

The reason i for installing rewolf recovery is cos of you recive ota updates(if u are still on miui rom) and it will automatically be flashed in redwolf recovery unlike twrp which does not has this feature.

.Next, i needed to try something new. So i searched for 'Best custom rom for Mido' and from usere review, Resurrection Remix OS Was the best custom rom for mido. So i flashed the RR5. 8 which was based on android 7.1 via redwolf recover.
The rom was very stable but i hated the interface. Although it is vert customizable, i just didn't like it. So i flashed the updates. RR6. 0 based on android 8.1. This particular rom is exactly what a what. an interface with black and white ONLY. but the rom is still a beta rom and not yet stable. System apps to crash a lot. And flash gapps also crashes on it.

So after everything, i manually upgraded my miui rom from 9.0 to 9.5.4 and so far, this rom is very clear on l with very good battery backup. Am still trying to figure out why miui suspended such a decent rom. Anyways in case you wanto test the rom for yourseld, you can just download the rom zip and flash via recovery.

So i recharged #500 to my airtel sim today in other to subscribe to #500 data plan. Immediately my recharge was stressful, Airtel cowardly deducted #80 for a service i know nothing about and never subscribed for.

Use the search bar in the miui site to get any rom you want

what we are trying to say is that it has been suspended in the sense that you cannot get the update via ota. You cab only flash it normally( which i plan to do) by downloading the rom form the link on ur screenshot and flash via recovery or fast boot

This v9.5.4 update is the best update note 4 has received yet, great performance and lovely battery management after 3days of use and observation i ddnt find any flaw
And finally i can interact with notifications from the panel without opening apps

That update has been withdrawn by miui cos of the bugs it contains. So i advice u to switch back to your old update.

My Ogas, I bring you all greetings. I am having a serious issue with my Redmi Note 4x that needs urgent attention and solution. I updated my phone to MIUI 9.5.4 nightly 3 days ago. After the update, the phone started misbehaving, switching off automatically whenever the message in the screenshot below comes up. The phone freezes and turns of when I press cancel or the report button. This evening it got even worse, right now, the home button and the menu button or minimise buttons are no longer working. I mean, they don't respond anymore. Please I need help. An advice or directives on what to do will be highly appreciated. I am just so frustrated at the moment. Please kindly help. Thanks everyone.. Attached is the picture of the error I have been getting since the update. These two buttons refusing to work is making the usage of this phone miserable...

Also, how can I remove the mi browser as my default browser?

Bros! stop this 'Don't upgrade', if most people go with this your advise na untop MiUi 8 android 6.0 people like us wey buy Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 early last year go still dey.
whatever happened to taking risk or better still asking for other people's review before updating.

My advise for anyone thinking of updating is to: ask for others review; keep a backed up version of your present rom incase of issues with the new update. And you don't need to update if it's not a major jump, there are no serious issues with your present version, no new interesting features that you really like to try out in the change log.

Personally, it took me a while to update from MiUi 8 to 9, but it happened to be the best update for my device. I am currently on 9.0.5.0 and I'm planning to join the 9.5 crew soon na data no dey

Meanwhile watch that RAM management in 3 weeks and give feedback, mine can only hold a few chrome browser pages at a time now. Maybe it's chrome.

Mine came with 1.5gb available ram, i was disappointed though, i needed something like 2gb free ram,

it now reads 1.2gb when i clear n close everything

OK, after 2days with Rn4x, Let me give this small review about the device.

1. The battery is a beast. usedd the phone for complete 24hrs without having to charge
2. The stock camera has nothing good to write about. But i saw some breath taking photos taken with the phone here on this thread with Google camera which rooting and tweaking for it to work. I will definitely look into that.
3. Processor and ram is top notch.
