PoliticsRe: Ohanaeze To APC - Field Igbo Presidential Candidate, by OneNaira6: 9:23am On Feb 11, 2013
Demdem: i for one will prefer a "criminal" type of Buhari/fashola combo of APC to that of retardeen/sambo combo of killer party. Afterall, none are saints. besides one group has been tested and currently failing while the other hasnt but has enough potentials.
Well Goodluck to you on that. Despite not living in Nigeria, I have family members in Nigeria and I for one would want them to go to school without them resulting to criminal activities just to pay school fees. I for one would want a politician that would give an alternative to some people before destroying their means of livelihood. I for one would want a politicians that is going to improve the lives of both the poor and the rich, not just the rich. I for one would want a politician that would hold up his part of the deal rather than refusing to pay a very big part of a nation's economy (i.e: doctors). I for one would want a president that would not tax the sh1t out of my people and only show roads works instead of jobs despite all the taxes they collected. I for one would want a politician that will actually listen to his critics or those questioning his corruption rather than him trying to diverge attention away from himself and towards the "killer party". I for one would want a president that would show me the truth about my country, not sugar coat it online, give false impression and when an american musicians decide to show the world what that nation looks like, provides the opposite of what I'm being showed online on a forum. When I do get there to visit, face-palming myself, out of the deceit I received online about the damn place. I for one would want a politician that is honest. I for one would want a politician that isn't so desperate for power that he will ignore a terrorist group fighting for him just so he can disgrace the man that won over him. GEJ might not give me all this but Buhari/Fashola will definitely not give me any of this. Anyway goodluck with your vote and goodluck to everyone else that chose the opposite or similar with your vote.

Blyss: Well that is because what you label as my "beliefs" are not simply my beliefs but rather facts of the matter, and I believe in the facts.
I didn't mean it as an insult. All I was trying to say is that you agree and support what he wrote.

Dudu_Negro: true slave narratives were not written down. the people were not allowed to write their own story and what they told of themselves were left unrecorded either. whatever account you hear of slave history is what white americans "selectively" picked for documentation. no true slave narrative that was worth its greatness and that competed with white culture in parity was recorded........the greatness is removed and replaced by its uglyness. by all means, a slave is to be presented as a savage, ugly, cruel, dangerous, uncultured. the african warriors in slavery were none of these. so if all you see today in written record is ibo, then it is again in support of the fact that ibo was not a challenge to the whiteman authority and rule......hence history of slavery is filled with their "supposed" bravery for rebellion.
SMH!! Dude you making yourself look "sad", the more you write. SMH!!

Anyway, we gave you articles, books, etc written by Caribbean and the African-American and we also gave you ones by the White men yet you focus only on the ones written by the white men. You disregard the white men stories because they are white. When a white person do the same, some of people would scream "racism", anyway moving on. You disregard the carribbean and african-americans stories since their own is vocal stories which their descendant put down in a book hundreds of years after the event happened. You believe you own "vocal" stories but not theirs? SMH

I keep saying it, this is some f2ked up sh1t, hating on slaves just because your tribe wasn't included. SMH and LMFAO.

I'm sorry am I suppose to take you serious?

This is just sad. Really sad.

Believe what you want, as long as if helps the low self esteem move up.

It is as I said. Some of my family members are married into the Ibibio and Efik clan. My closest friend or as the women would call it, best friend, is from the Ibibio clan. There's really no history to speak of other than "some NDs such as ibibio, Efik out of family marriage and friendship"

OMO IBO: Lmao. I tell ya, this dokubo dude be cracking me up.
A few pointers. . .

Why is this guy quoting the bible?? Is he no longer muslim??

This guy has made a number of remarks about igbo's. All of a sudden he cares for igbos??

Seriously though, Dude be trifling.

Dokubo, you can continue yaning opaks cos you have easy access to Jo boy. Any other person woulda shoved your beak right down your rectum.
I've never seen him make any negative remarks about Igbo. The only conversation he's ever made in regards to Igbo that might substitute as insult (even though it isn't) is when he told the world Igbo and Yoruba failed against north. Plus when he told Igbo to stop accusing Ijaws of betrayal and abandoned property saga since many of their own people died fighting for Biafra including his family. If you have anything else the man said that supposedly a negative remarks to Igbo, we do hope you post it here for us to see.

Dudu_Negro: nobody need to glorify slavery but everybody need to account for their acts and track record on bravery if breavery and assertive, dominant power is the new currency for political relevance.
Whatever you say dude. Everyone is making up stories. The White Americans are making up stories. The African-American are making up stories, the Jamaicans, Haitians, etc are making up stories about Igbo rebellion since Yoruba is not included.

LMFAO!!! I just find it funny that some of ya'll hating on slaves. That is some crazy sh1t right there. LMFAO. WOW. WOW Damn that is hilarious.

SMH @ some region of some specific part of Nigeria is hating that they are not included among the slaves with highest rebellion status. SMH. Wow, even in slavery some people want to be noticed. LMFAO!!!!

Blyss: Very interesting book. I read it a couple of times before.
Kind of explains alot. I've read the book as well and half of some of your belief concerning Igbo tend to imitate some of his words in the book.
PoliticsRe: Ohanaeze To APC - Field Igbo Presidential Candidate, by OneNaira6: 8:02am On Feb 11, 2013
I don't even get why people are arguing with the yoruba's on this forum. There so called political power, strength and the decider of Nigerian presidency yet the north have ruled over "the strength" for so many years. The only one that came from their region is one of the worst president of Nigeria to date. Why do una take this people seriously? Anyway, only you people know. I just find them funny whenever I read their boast.

Anyway, some people are even too stupid to understand what ohaneze is trying to say yet call themselves "strength of Nigeria politics". Anyway sha, the group is telling you people that if you want SE vote then field someone that would vote for. Igbos would not vote for any political party which does not have their interest in mind. It just that simple of a statement. Nothing complex, nothing serious to decipher. SMH @ the amount of stupidity from the so called "APC" group.

Anyway, APC would lose in 2015 so I don't know why anyone is arguing or fighting whether there is a potential of them winning. I don't forsee that group winning but let's wait to 2015. N

you call it "bravery," I call it stupidity. LOL nothing heroic in suicide, just slaves who couldn't handle the work and looking for a way out. they would have been killed off anyway. they were just smart enough to make the job easier for their slave masters.
reminds me of financial crisis and the wall street bankers jumping from high story building to avoid jail. duh everyone wanted them dead anyway. they just made the task easier.
suicide is defined as "THE COWARD'S WAY OUT" for a reason. other than that, it's for sleazy folks looking for self glory and martyrdom. and of course not getting it such behavior can only be excused in mentally ill persons. otherwise, then srry you're nothing short of a FOOL.

besides, I wonder why the OP began his post by talking about Yoruba people? hahaha clowns
Lastly, why don't you go and ask the OP why he started the discussion with Yoruba? Why are you people so f2king afraid of northerners? You wondering why he called una name but too scared to ask the nigg@. Abeg, I'll do it for you since you are so afraid of them. Ndu_chucks why did you start the topic with the yoruba people name?

LMFAO. Dude you sound so pathetic hating on a group of slaves that chose their own destiny in their hand as oppose to follow a master simply because they are from a tribe you do not like. Damn, if the post I'm replying to write now is not the definition of pathetic-ness and pitiful and just flat out something and it's writer to pity, then nothing in this world would define those words. Dude you are pathetic. Hating on slaves. WOW!!! SMH and LMFAO. If that is not pathetic, I don't know what else is. LMFAO. Chei!!! They were slaves that refused to follow "massa" as their dear counterpart, they decided to end it knowing damn well they have no other way to go. As for saying they aren't remembered. The sadness of your worries is on you. Igbo landing is well known in that part of America and from I heard, the people residing in that part of the country still afraid to visit or fish in that river out of fear of the "slaves ghosts". Even the AA in that region use it as a remembrance of their strength. Go check it out in the georgia encyclopedia. They wrote all about it. One thing the Igbo slaves were known for during the slavery era was rebellion. They were among the highest slaves that chose suicide than the become a slave due to the belief if they die, the gods would return them back home to their original land. The ones that chose to live were known to either run away, kill or fight their master, or start a revolt against white massa. Though Igbos weren't the only ones, the angola and congo slaves were equally stubborn. Bight of Biafra slaves and the Angola slaves were the most disliked slaves in America for a reason. They were the only ones that gave their master headaches. One that is well known in Virginia is James Madison, an ex-USA president, whose grandfather was killed by four Igbo slaves. Another that is known in Lousiana was Claude Trenonay killed by his Igbo slaves who later tried to get the mandika's and wolof of that plantation to revolt against their master.

During the slave trade, Igbo slaves were known to be the most rebellious. Igbo slaves led most of the slave rebellions in the United States, Haiti, Jamaica, Belize, Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados and Guyana.
http://pridepublishinggroup.com/pride/2013/02/09/african-ethnic-groups-and-religions/

In the United States the Igbo slaves were known for being rebellious. In some states such as Georgia, the Igbo had a high suicide rate.

The Igbo were affected heavily by the Atlantic slave trade in the 18th century. Igbo slaves were known for being rebellious and having a high count of suicide in defiance of slavery

Igbo slaves, along with 'Angolas' and 'Congoes' were most prone to be runaways. In slave runaway advertisements held in Jamaica workhouses in 1803, out of 1046 Africans, 284 were described as 'Eboes and Mocoes', 185 'Congoes', 259 'Angolas', 101 'Mandingoes', 70 Coromantees, 60 'Chamba' of Sierra Leone, 57 'Nagoes and Pawpaws', and 30 'scattering'. 187 were 'unclassified' and 488 were 'American born negroes and mulattoes'.

The 1815 Igbo conspiracy in Jamaica's Saint Elizabeth Parish which involved around 250 Igbo slaves,[19] described as one of the revolts that contributed to a climate for abolition.[20] A letter by the Governor of Manchester to Bathurst on April 13, 1816[21] quoted the leaders of the rebellion on trial as saying "that 'he had all the Eboes in his hand', meaning to insinuate that all the Negroes from that Country were under his controul".[22] The plot was thwarted and several slaves were executed.

The 1816 Black River rebellion plot which according to Lewis (1834:227—28) only people of 'Eboe' origin were involved.[23] This plot was uncovered on March 22, 1816 by a novelist and absentee planter named Matthew Gregory 'Monk' Lewis, when he had recorded what Hayward (1985) calls a proto-Calypso revolutionary hymn, sung by a group of Igbo slaves led by the 'King of the Eboes'.

Even Nat turner is believed to be an Igbo descendant. Though that hasn't be verified yet just a statement that's going around among the african-american community that study african and their own history.

120 years later Nat Turner led a revolt in Virginia that killed approximately 60 whites. In accordance with his Igbo(Egbo) origins, Turner bestowed upon himself the honors of Odogo
http://moorishamerica.webs.com/thegreaterigbonation.htm

Among the many Ibo influences present in Haiti, perhaps the most enduring is the Ibo passion for self -determination. That passion helped to fuel our fore-parents efforts to combat slavery. As their descendants, we continue to honor the Ibo and all the other nations who fought to create a more democratic Haiti. No Africans in Haiti were willingly enslaved and people of all African nations rebelled against slavery. Nonetheless, because of the Ibo passion for democracy, they became the group most associated with rebellion against slavery.

You should also go and read "The River Flows on: Black Resistance, Culture, and Identity Formation in Early America." by rucker walter.

Some people are born and do not care whether or not they are slaves while there are those like the Igbos, the Akans, The Angolans slaves, the Congo slave, the Mandika's who refused to be slaves and the most recorded slaves to rebel and revolt against their master. That's one thing Nigeria especially the north needs to get in their thick head, Igbos ain't nobody's slave.

Popular for where. One member on NL hold over 30 or more account if he or she so wishes. When I was banned, I created a new account with the same but tweaked a bit, when that was banned, I created another with the same name. All this happened in one day. After my account was reinstated, I personally asked them to delete the extra account I created since i don't need it anymore and till this day that extra account still exist. A different forum would have accepted my request, in fact the wouldn't have allowed me to register again since im serving a ban. NL figures are severely distorted. Of course, it was.included in the million members number. I won't be surprised if the members on here are actually less than 5000. You must be new. PoliticsRe: Rochas Okorocha Is On His Own - APGA by OneNaira6:
Omo_Tier1: Is there any surprise that your people now call other parts of Nigeria abroad where they need to run to for better living? I ask again, do you think any serious opposition political party will want to engage in fruitful discussion. On good governance with a rag tag political association like APGA who's stomach is their god huh I for one see no immediate benefit of even including APGA in the merger.
Call what region what? grin grin grin grin grin grin oh dude, you have to be high when you wrote that. Igbo call who what? Do you people think before lying. Even if you pretend that maybe that's what you think they view your region, this bloody website alone should have busted that bubble., they constantly announce how we view your region. When did Igbo start calling SW aboard? Learn to tell yourself the truth , Yorubas call Lagos, Nigerian London which it's self is an insult to London. Igbos have never had a hand in that insult. While we at it, Igbo go where there is market hence we are everywhere even in poor ridden India. As far as we are concern, una are just customers, nothing more, nothing less.

What Fruitful discussion are you speaking off. People have asked our dear "opposition political party" one simple question and una have tried your best to ignore it or result to senseless insult. Answer our damn question first before indicating you have the ability to engage in a meaningful discussion. Show us you can actually have a discussion by replying our question without resulting to insult. Opposition party we ask again, is the sin of a political party members conducted by the name and symbol of the political party or the character of the members? Why is it most members from the new political parties are ex-pdp members? Why is it you are looking to adopt more members from the as una call it "killer party"? You think we are all fools, continue deceiving the gullible ones.

Now to move onto Igbo people and our decision. You lots spoke on merger with ACN and CPC, not once did any discussion include APGA. After the whole deal is secured, stupidly you drag the name of the political party as one of your merger group yet you except the political party to keep shut. Not only was it an insult to them, but it was down right pathetic. No dialogue was done to inform us , what will benefit from this stupid sh1t. The members of the so called " opposition political party" are nothing but crooks trying another way to get that presidential seat they desperately want. Every name on that list was either a corrupt ex PDP, a corrupt politician or a leader who will do anything even kill to achieve his means thus giving no ordinary Igbo man with half a brain a reason to what to join or vote for them. To make matter worse, when the members especially one of their leaders held FG powers of Nigeria. the two region una want to join you benefitted nada during their leadership yet you except Igbo to join hands with the same man. We learned Nigerian politics and how it goes from una. Don't cry when we refuse to follow you people. Fool us once, shame on you. fool us twice, shame on us. When we played one Nigeria with you lots, it came and bit us right in our yansh, we learned and have adapted. We care about Igbo and Igbo alone.

You see no reason to involve APGA yet you lots sneakily dragged their name into your so called "power merger" without their approval. LM.fAO. See tears and lies when plans fail. Anyway sha, they are irrelevant. Yes SE is irrelevant and I'm going to drag SS into it using una interaction with members from that region that also refuse to fall this sh1t (myself included) thus continue believing and with that belief una will lose yet again. After losing, we get una usual cry babies announcement "rigging" despite having no evidence to support that accusations. Believe it jor, hold onto to 2015 Biko.

I doubt they would. Onitsha is already competitive without shop rite.
