Honestly, one week is a lot of time. You could have taken it here as soon as you noticed it. The electrician would have heated up the board to dry out the water.

I agreed, I ought to have taken it to the Electrician on time but couldn't due to other commitments. Placing it under the sun immediately would have been a saving grace but procrastination nor let me see road.

He said it's fixable. I actually called him yesterday and he said he has fixed it. Hoping to pick it up today.

Don't plug it until it gets to a very good electrician.
If you supply power to the board when it's wet, you'll damage it, because signals will flow to the wrong parts of the board.

I took it to the electrician on Monday. That's a week after water got into it. He said it came on but didn't pick.

He said the water stayed too long on it and it led to some rust inside

Open the cover and place it under the sun for few hours. And you are good to go

It's better you take it to electrician. They will wash it with fuel or thinner and sun-dried it else you will ruin it.
This mistake cost me my surface pump after over a week of drying it without loosing it
