malali: Nigeria is not cursed — Nigeria is being strangled by a greedy political class who see the country not as a home — but as an ATM machine. The tragedy of Nigeria is simple: We are ruled by men with foreign hearts and local passports. They steal from Nigerians to live like Parisians, while Nigerians die like Somalis.
Look around — has any French President ever flown to Nigeria for healthcare? Never. But your president boards private jets to France like a colonial errand boy. This is not leadership — this is a criminal syndicate.
If Bola Ahmed Tinubu was a nationalist, Lagos would have the best hospitals in Africa. But he’s too busy preparing escape routes for his grandchildren to become French citizens while the children of Mushin and Kano rot without clinics.
Nationalism is not a speech. Nationalism is not dancing in agbada at rallies. Nationalism is action: Build here. Heal here. School here. Die here.
Until Nigerian politicians are treated in Nigerian hospitals, their loyalty is to Paris — not to Nigeria. And no nation can rise when its leaders serve foreign gods. Malali, this is coming from you? Yeah, Nigeria is like their big farm to extract from and take to their home (any European or white country, or Dubai). And Nigerians either don't know, or know and hail them that it's their time and god had placed them there. |

Iweakbro: You just showed your average understanding. Your base currency is a means of exchanging goods and services locally, while the USD is a means to exchange goods or services internationally preventing delay in remittance.
If I decide to convert some naira to dollars and save it, have I produced anything for the US? Little kid.
China for example has been on a consistent $200+ billion trade surplus for many years now. In 2024 China's trade surplus with the US reached US$361 billion, accounting for 2% of China's GDP. Do you know the cumulative damage to the US manufacturing industry?
This year alone, China has achieved a $ 49 billion trade surplus. And you expect Trump to sit and clap for you emotionally lots?
If the US is insignificant, other countries should slap tariffs on them. Case closed. Why the tears? There is nobody to cheat again? Lol. It's funny how having explained situation to you, you're calling me "Little Kid", "you have average understanding", whereas you're the irredeemable slowpoke ignorant one here. Iweakbro: Lol. It can't happen, stop getting emotional. He is balancing trade. Imagine placing tariffs on US goods but expecting the US not to place tariffs on your goods—at who's expense? He has to encourage local manufacturers through that tariff.
Now, your logic is like that of a 2-year-old. It's like saying we should all go back to being without phones. Mind you, a lot of people became billionaires by creating ease for other people. The dollar is an easy means to mitigate trade deficit backlogs. Even China and Russia have not been able to do away with it. Getting emotional? Comparing phone (technology) with absoluteness of Dollar or Euro in settling trades? Do you even know that means, the use of Dollar primarily? It means for any country to ever be, you must have sold something that the US needs or Europe needs for you to have dollar or Euro to trade with anyone else. Essentially, you must be a slave to produce for the US first, then use the proceeds for whatever. Roughly, your value is based on how much the US or Europe needs you. I mean, what should I expect from you, Trump fanboy? And on next point, reciprocal tariffs. I had said I wouldn't bother or give a hoot to comment on that, but let me just quote what the Japanese said, "tariff atleast should be on goods-by-goods basis". |

TONYE001: Could you, please, explain what you mean by "take laws into their hands"?
If after my explanation (and the explanations of others) you still think that health workers are treating "the next patient like some slaughter animal animal with freedom to die and they don't care...," then I think you need to reconsider your position as your attack is wrongly directed. Maybe aiming your shots at the government would be a fine, perfect start.
As someone pointed out earlier, referral is different from rejection. NO HOSPITAL OPERATED BY A LICENSED MEDICAL DOCTOR REJECTS A PATIENT JUST LIKE THAT. If a case is reviewed and it is determined that the hospital does not have the manpower or materials to manage the case, the only available option would be to stabilize and refer to a better-equipped facility. This is how referral works.
And, importantly, this other thing you wrote, "how about collectively seek for effective people identification and a health financial sector that'd provide credits for patients and pay them cash?..." IS NOT THE PRIVATE HOSPITAL'S RESPONSIBILITY. It is the government's responsibility to do all of that...to create a system in which patients don't have to pay out of pocket for emergency care....government has made some effort in this regard. In public hospitals, the first 24-48 hours or so, doctors are mandated to provide care (I want to believe this is the case in all centres... I'm sure of FUTH, Owerri). But this package is not available for private hospitals.
I understand your anger. I do, I'm angry and frustrated myself..but not at the hospital. Firstly, I'm frustrated that our government is not doing enough to ensure healthcare is available to Nigerians. I'm disappointed at the husband's narratives as I strongly doubt this is how events happened. I'm also disappointed that Nigerians are unnecessarily emotional, and they already have a dangerous bias against health workers. Today, there are doctors and nurses that go to work scared, some may have developed PTSD as a result of previous experiences....and all of these....na because of say person decide to dey violent mostly out of ignorance.
I hope I've made a fair attempt to answer your questions; good morning. You wrote: """As someone pointed out earlier, referral is different from rejection. They reject patients often often and often. Not always refer as default. A family friend who is very rich, but unfortunately lives in small town and is uneducated as well everyone in his family died of recent. How so? He was taken to a government hospital in the town, a small one. His liver got damaged, and after spending more than 26m on rather stupid things like private ward, blood transfusion, and so many things like that for a month+, they rejected him and said his family should take him home and were not able to treat him any longer. We got into contact with some medical consultants a week ago, and given his medical condition and history as at last in the hospital, they said we should transfer him to a certain hospital in Lagos and had prepared the necessary avenue and so on to conduct a certain surgical procedure on him. But his situation having been rejected to be taken home had gotten so fatal, he died while on transit leaving young children behind in a very political local family. I've heard countless times of people saying "hospital rejected so-so person", only in Nigeria. Whatever rock you're living under, get out of it! And your next point: it is the job of the government to start up health insurance/health credit that would be effective and efficient? So it is the government that started all those loan apps, or the buy phone pay later fintechs. Most Nigerians are heartless and lack sense of responsibility, you exhibit suck trait in great fold. |

Iweakbro: This is a slow emotional take. Before the world decentralizes, there needs to be viable alternatives, cause how do you balance import-export deficits?
If Nigeria and Ghana start buying and selling to each other in cedis and naira respectively, when Nigeria archives trade surplus, what would they do with the excess cedis since they can't spend it in Nigeria?
Before the dollar can get out of the way, a viable alternative has to come in. Currently, lots of countries have signed deals to keep selling their oil in dollars, how do you break free from that hegemony?
Even China and Russia haven't dumped the dollar 100% for this sole reason Humans traded, and lived in lack of European/American slavery for millennia. Western hegemony removed, dollar and Euro trading removed, the world would go back to normalcy, lack of centralized worshipping of the US and Europe when there should rather be free trade with the next next neighbor. Somehow, tell me, how did the people of old do it? How was primary SW trading with now Mali, now Sierra Leone, now Ghana relating decentralized without going to worship, build government buildings, deposit reserves, etc in some Babylon? The West has destroyed commonsense with their economic whatever postulations. The average European has absolute freedoms of movement (vis their invented passport), but a Nigerian does not! What's the sense in their slave-mastering. Their 63% of Americans brought their toddler-in-power in, spectacular! They get what they get. Thank you Trump. |

Globalization was often an agenda to the West to ever be at the top, economic and social-wise, while using the rest of the world as their economic slaves and continuously subjugating them through various supposed globalization agendas (UN, WEF, lgbt them even, dollar reserves, etc.)
Yes, indeed, the Western globalization need be over. The world decentralized. A Nigerian should know more about Cameroon and Mauritius, rather than news news everyday about your shitty hole piggy countries. Thanks to Trump for ushering in the beginning of the destruction of Western hegemony on the other 6billion+ rest of the world of only 8billion. |

TONYE001: Most of us are just too emotional. Plus, we already have a biased mind against health workers... especially doctors and nurses.
Do you know how many private hospitals that have provided care in emergency situations and don't get paid afterwards? Some patients would either run away or make trouble.
Can you even measure the losses these hospitals run into?
This is what happens when we are greedy and self-centred. We betray the trust of a benevolent and kind mind not minding how this evil action may impact future clients that may be in need of this benevolence. In the face of life and death, we make all sorts of promises and when things are settled, we show our true, evil selves.
And, of course, once a patient cries to the social media, the doctor, nurse, or hospital is declared guilty without a fair hearing.
And, I still dey talk am, N500,000 deposit for an obstetric emergency case? Or for any emergency sef....? HIGHLY UNLIKELY! Rather than the said private hospitals then "taking laws into their hands" by being wicked and treating the next patient like some slaughter animal with freedom to die and they don't care, how about collectively seek for effective people identification and a health financial sector that'd provide credits for patients and pay them cash? Wickedness, lack of empathy, rejecting patients without referring them (meaning the patient should go and die) are very rampant in the Nigerian health sector. Most of Nigerian health workers and private hospitals and even government's are merciless, unhelpful, and it's a fact. |

Why is there no visa for Antarctica?
Humans can easily visit Antarctica because it's a continent that's on Land but yet the world government police it strictly
Do you know what it means to make A WHOLE CONTINENT out of bounds to humans
Not a street or a state. But a whole continent!!! Africa is a continent and Nigeria IS A COUNTRY INSIDE THAT CONTINENT. Try travelling from warri to Lagos...you can't even walk the distance. This is just interstate travel inside a country that's inside a continent. That should give you an idea of how wide a continent should be
There are certain animals and plants native to continents. Imagine The wonders one could find in another continent?
The world government including Russia and United States signed an agreement to not fight over land in Antarctica.
Men of war suddenly love peace and that didn't stand out to any sane thinking individual??

There was never scarcity of land or resources. Wars is a lie. Because they say most wars were fought in a bid to control resources
But how come no one is fighting over Antarctica? Even trump himself!! And Putin.

You have finally become the zombies you watch in movies, except this time you're wearing a nice perfume with the latest gadget in a nice car Hahahaha
Your brain has been hijacked. Why won't you fall susceptible to mass hypnotism.
Hahahaha
At least imbeciles have excuse
I cannot walk the path for you. That's on you What is this? 😅 Antarctica is inhabitable is the reason. Same as the North Pole region, extremely inhabitable. Even certain Northern parts of Canada, close to the North Pole, no one goes there, lest you die from lack of food so so soon. And in which case, they'd need depend on other countries. So, what's the point of fighting over Antarctica when it's not as if penguins are gold. The North Pole has oil, lots of oil, the countries with stake to it (Norway, Russia, Canada, etc.) are still scooping their own fossils talk more of exploring the North Pole. Politics › Re: Why Protests Fail In Nigeria - Lisa Bassey by OneOnland: 12:55pm On Mar 31, 2025 |
Unity.
Protest fails in Nigeria simply because of lack of unity. There's a protest about something genuine, all it'd take is a tribe C attacking tribe A, mocking them, and thus signalling support for the government and to ignore the calls of the protest. (The 2024 October protest was an example).
Another scenario is protest ongoing, and the politicians (divide, huh?) quickly make it seem like it is tribe C protesting and trying to hijack the protests for their own anti-normalcy demands. Tribe A is wary of tribe C, tribe B is wary of tribe C, they had better not partook in the protest then. Protest fails.
I tell you, should there be a country of Hausa people only, or Yoruba people only, etc, there's nothing that could fundamentally divide them, their voices of concerns would be one, and would be resolute that elected officials would but always listen -- no protest failing.
But this is Nigeria. Nigerians, but majority Fulani people are leading some protests, "please, what good could it ever mean for me?" |
