ogakpatakpata: l am not God to know what ur future is in Dubai, whatever qualification u are coming with , know that there is stiff competition for jobs in dubai, go back and read my previous post. Education is damn expensive in dubai, security job is not demeaning, but be ready to work 12hrs a day, maybe with one day off, depending on the company.l really dont know how u can cope with schooling and working in dubai, is going to be tough for u and i doubt if u can afford the tuition, so my advise , get a job first, understand the terrain and u can decide which options u wanna follow. Dubai is very very competitive, be ready to compete with Americans/europeans, asians, arabs and some africans, so it is better u dont count ur chickens in nigeria before they are hatch. Exercise to Ease Constipation If your bowel habits are sluggish and you suffer constipation , maybe some exercise can help speed things up. According to experts, exercise does more than tone your heart and other muscles. Exercise is essential for regular bowel movements. In fact, one of the key risk factors for constipation is inactivity. How Can Exercise Help Constipation? Exercise helps constipation by decreasing the time it takes food to move through the large intestine, thus limiting the amount of water absorbed from the stool into your body. Hard, dry stools are harder to pass. In addition, aerobic exercise accelerates your breathing and heart rate. This helps to stimulate the natural contraction of intestinal muscles. Intestinal muscles that contract efficiently help move stools out quickly. When Is the Best Time to Exercise? Wait an hour after a big meal before engaging in any rigorous physical activity. After eating, blood flow increases to the stomach and intestines to help the body digest the food. However, if you exercise right after eating, the blood flows toward the heart and muscles instead. Since the strength of the gut's muscle contractions directly relate to the quantity of blood flowing in the area, less blood in the GI tract means weaker intestinal contractions, fewer digestive enzymes, and the food waste moving sluggishly through the intestine. This can lead to bloating , excess gas, and constipation. So after a big meal, give your body a chance to digest it before you start on that nature hike. What Are the Best Exercises for Constipation? Simply getting up and moving can help constipation. A regular walking regimen -- even 10 to 15 minutes several times a day -- can help the body and digestive system function optimally. If you are already fit, you might opt for aerobic exercise: running, jogging, swimming, or swing dancing, for example. All these exercises can help keep your digestive tract healthy. Stretching may also help alleviate constipation, as might certain yoga positions. www.twitter.com/oneshowguy007 /p25Xmg-3e |
Water: A Fluid Way to Manage Constipation Are you seeking natural ways to relieve chronic constipation , but are too embarrassed to ask your doctor? Chronic constipation is one of the most common gastrointestinal ailments . While millions of people self-medicate by using over-the-counter laxatives, perhaps the simplest ways to manage chronic constipation is to drink plenty of fluids daily, eat dietary fiber , and exercise . Below are the answers to some common questions about chronic constipation, and how fluids can help or worsen the condition. What Causes Chronic Constipation? Many things can cause chronic constipation, including medications , a low-fiber diet , travel, irritable bowel syndrome , and pregnancy . But dehydration is one of the most common causes. After the food you eat is processed in the small intestine, it travels to the large intestine, or colon. If you do not have enough water in your body -- if you're dehydrated -- the large intestine soaks up water from your food waste. This results in hard stools that are difficult to pass. Why Is Water Important for Digestion? Water makes up approximately 60% of your body's weight . By lubricating the intestines and the food we eat, water can help prevent and alleviate chronic constipation by facilitating the flow of food though the intestines. How Can I Prevent Dehydration? Dehydration happens when the body eliminates more fluids than it absorbs. Drinking inadequate amounts of hydrating fluids during exercise, hot weather, or daily activities can cause the body to use up its stored water. To prevent dehydration, watch the amount of fluid you drink, listen to your body, and drink more liquids during exercise and hot weather. Will Drinking Water and Other Fluids Cure Constipation? While drinking more liquids does not cure constipation, added fluids help keep the stool soft and easy to pass. How Much Fluid Is Enough to Ease Chronic Constipation? Most experts say "let your body be your guide" when it comes to thirst. The Institute of Medicine's Food and Nutrition Board recommends that women consume 91 ounces of water each day from beverages and foods; men need to consume 125 ounces daily. Remember, this recommendation includes fluids in the foods you eat -- so don't overdo a good thing! Talk to your doctor about how much water is good for you. People with certain medical conditions may need to limit their fluid intake. In general, for healthy, average individuals, eight cups a day is a good guideline, but some people may need more fluid and others less. Besides Water, What Other Fluids Are Hydrating? Although drinking water is the best source of hydration, drinking fruit and vegetable juices, clear soups, and herbal teas are also good sources of fluid. Are There Fluids I Should Avoid? Yes. Avoid alcohol and caffeinated beverages such as coffee, tea, and cola drinks. These are diuretics, which eliminate water from your body and contribute to dehydration.

Dietary Fiber for Constipation Is food medicine? Sometimes, yes. It's becoming clear in recent years that dietary measures are highly effective in preventing or reversing some health problems, especially chronic constipation. Constipation is a symptom, not a disease. If you want safe and effective long-term relief for chronic constipation, you don't need to look any further than your grocer's shelves. Hundreds of foods and plant-based fiber products are available to relieve constipation -- naturally. What is fiber? Dietary fiber refers to the edible parts of plants or carbohydrates that cannot be digested. Fiber is in all plant foods, including fruits, vegetables, grains, nuts, seeds, and legumes. You can also find a form of fiber called chitin in the shells of crustaceans such as crab, lobster, and shrimp. Is all fiber the same? No, some fibers are soluble in water and others are insoluble. Soluble fiber slows digestion and helps you absorb nutrients from food. Insoluble fiber adds bulk to your stool, helping the stool pass more quickly through the intestines. Most plant foods contain some of each kind of fiber. Foods containing high levels of soluble fiber include dried beans, oats, oat bran, rice bran, barley, citrus fruits, apples, strawberries, peas, and potatoes. Foods high in insoluble fiber include wheat bran, whole grains, cereals, seeds, and the skins of many fruits and vegetables. Which type of fiber is best to ease constipation? Go for whole-grain breads, cereals, and pastas. Cereal fibers generally have cell walls that resist digestion and retain water within the cellular structures. Wheat bran can be highly effective as a natural laxative. What other foods are high in fiber? Eat plenty of fresh fruits, vegetables, and legumessuch as beans and lentils. The fiber found in citrusfruits and legumes stimulate the growth of colonicflora, which increases the stool weight and the amount of bacteria in the stool. Encouraging the growth of certain bacteria in the colon may help promote a healthy intestine. |
The Basics of Constipation Constipation is one of those topics few like to talk about. If you've suffered from this problem, though, you know it can be both painful and frustrating. Almost everyone gets constipated at some time during his or her life. It affects approximately 2% of the population in nigeria. Women and the elderly are more commonly affected. Though not usually serious, constipation can be a concern. What Is Constipation? Constipation occurs when bowel movements become difficult or less frequent. The normal length of time between bowel movements ranges widely from person to person. Some people have bowel movements three times a day; others, only one or two times a week. Going longer than three days without a bowel movement is too long. After three days, the stool or feces become harder and more difficult to pass. You are considered constipated if you have two or more of the following for at least 3 months: 1 Straining during a bowel movement more than 25% of the time. 2 Hard stools more than 25% of the time. 3 Incomplete evacuation more than 25% of the time. 4 Two or fewer bowel movements in a week. What Causes Constipation? Constipation is usually caused by a disorder of bowel function rather than a structural problem. Common causes of constipation include: $ Inadequate water intake. $ Inadequate fiber in the diet. $ A disruption of regular diet or routine; traveling. $ Inadequate activity or exercise or immobility. $ Eating large amounts of dairy products. $ Stress. $ Resisting the urge to have a bowel movement, which is sometimes the result of pain from hemorrhoids . $ Overuse of laxatives (stool softeners) which, overtime, weaken the bowel muscles. $ Hypothyroidism . $ Neurological conditions such as Parkinson's disease or multiple sclerosis. $ Antacid medicines containing calcium or aluminum. $ Medicines (especially strong pain medicines, such as narcotics, antidepressants , or iron pills). $ Depression. $ Eating disorders. $ Irritable bowel syndrome . $ Pregnancy. $ Colon cancer . In some cases, lack of good nerve and muscle function in the bowel may also be a cause of constipation. What Are the Symptoms of Constipation? Symptoms of constipation can include: $ Infrequent bowel movements and/or difficulty having bowel movements. $ Swollen abdomen or abdominal pain. $ Pain. $ Vomiting. http://www.911healthshop.com/constipation-tea-bell.html

stress management three ways There are basically three methods to handle stress: *. Control the meaning that the stressor has for you. *. Change the situation that causes the distress. *. Control the effects of stress on your body. Which method is right for you? That depends on how you experience stress and what symptoms it causes for you. Read all three sets of symptoms below and decide which set most applies to you. Then read the corresponding stress reduction suggestions and put them into action. If you experience these stress symptoms: *. Worrying *. Evaluating yourself as a failure because you fell short on certain standards *. Having a win-lose approach to life that puts yourself-esteem on the line in every situation *. Engaging in moralistic thinking about how others should behave that leads to frustration, anger, and moral indignation *. Having a low tolerance level for life's inevitable frustrations Try this stress management method: Control the Meaning *. Understand that you are not influenced by facts but instead by your interpretation of facts. *. Understand that thoughts determine feelings; because you choose your thoughts, you can control your emotions. *. Identify your stress-inducing thoughts. Write them down as soon as you experience them. Also, describe the situation and your reaction to it. *. Change or "cool off" your thoughts. *. Use a sensitive listener as a sounding board to help reveal attitudes that cause tension. *. Look at the situation from another perspective. Ask, "What's the worst thing that could happen? Can I live with that?" If you experience these stress symptoms: *. Your present situation is damaging to your senseof control and self-esteem *. You feel you must make a change Try this stress management method: Change the Situation *. Define the problem. *. Brainstorm the options available to alter the situation. Here are some possibilities: *. Leave the situation. Keep in mind the risks and difficult choices you must make. *. Learn new skills. If you have too many things to do, learn time management skills. If working with others causes tension, practice communication and negotiation skills, and team building strategies. *. Change tension-producing habits. If you're always in a hurry, schedule fewer activities and use tension-provoking wait time more productively. *. Take a break. A ten-minute break away from the office or even a vacation can provide fresh insights and change your perspective. *. Make the decision to make a change. *. Do it! Then evaluate your progress. If you experience these stress symptoms: *. Internal pressures build up with no "safety valves" to release them. *. Various stress-induced disorders occur, such as colds, headaches, high blood pressure, and asthma. Try this stress management method: Control the Effects *. Engage in vigorous exercise. Aerobic is best. Three or more times a week provides real benefits (consult your physician first). *. Take responsibility for your health. A healthy body can withstand stress better than an unhealthy one. Exercise, eat right, get enough rest, and cut down on tension-producing substances such as sugar and caffeine. *. Use humor to release tension. Read or watch comedies to restore your perspective. *. Do things you like to do. You'll be more refreshed. *. Practice relaxation techniques. They will lower blood pressure and slow your heart rate. *. Talk to others. They can provide support |
