Apart from the issue of God-fatherism and corruption, the son, brother, sister, father and mother of a President, Governor, Speaker and any other political office holder has the constitutional right to contest any election he/she is qualified to contest.

Nigerians always wail whenever a relative of a political office holder is contesting for a political office, but we praise countries like the United States of America for democracy.

Former house speaker Nancy Pelosi has been in the house from 1987 till date, her father was also a member of the house of rep and also the mayor of Baltimore.

How about the Clintons? Bill Clinton was a senator and later became a President while the wife was a senator and later the wife became the 3rd highest executive office holder in the US - secretary of state's and she almost became the president of America.

How about the Bushs? Senior Bush was vice president to Ronald Reagan for 8 years after a career as the CIA director and later became the president of USA when the son Bush Junior was the governor of Texas and the Junior Bush moved from Governor to President in 2000 and his younger brother was a senator in Texas.
