integrity16: When I see Nigerians criticizing Dangote, I just shake my head. You want to force dangote to lower his price without asking the right question?
1. How much is the government selling crude to him?
2. These marketers who took dangote to court for reducing the price of diesel from 1700 to 900. R they protecting the interest of the masses or themselves? 3. Why is Tinubu silent in all of this?
I hear people say dangote is trying to monopolize the sector and whose fault is that? We were in this country when Mele Kyari kept making promises giving different date on when our refinery would come on stream but nothing happened.
The same masses complaining that dollar to naira is going up are the same people supporting marketers to put more pressure on the naira by sourcing for forex for fuel importation. What do we actually want?
Let all the marketers pull their resources together and establish their own refinery to provide the needed competition since government govt can't get theirs working.
Importation of fuel is not the best for us as a country. For those crying of monopoly, well maybe that's the benefit dangote will get for daring to do what a whole government could not do. Many of you here bought MTN sim for 40k when they first entered the telecoms industry with their huge investments, heaven did not fall.
Let's support dangote refinery for now, BUA refinery is also coming, by the time we have 3 to 4 private refinery, I believe it would force down price.
PS: Before you view this post from the lens of tribe, permit me to say that I'm from the south and dangote is not in anyway my relative. Just airing my thoughts. It's matter of tribalism or religion rather investment. For now no justification for stopping importation |
Business › Re: Oil Marketers Drag Dangote To Court, Insist On Petrol Import by Onewazobia(m): 11:08am On Nov 07, 2024 |
ClearFlair: How about all the other local refineries that were promised? Dangote may not be a saint but he is only opposing foreign competition and not local competition. Why are they trying to import fuel by force instead of having more local refineries. Something is amiss here. Dangote fuel is too expensive, cosy of production is relatively very low compared to those imported from Europe, America and Asia yet he sell at relatively same price with the imported one. That's wickedness against the state and her citizens. Have we attend sufficiency since we band importation of rice? What about Cement? Remember how the past administration priorities the Refinery, given dollar at lower exchange rate. Nigerian elites are wicked |

Righteousness2: True Repentance means turning away from your evil deeds. Repentance means making right your wrongs.
Read The Conversion story of the tax collector in Luke 19 Zaccheus .
You cant remain with the sin and claim you are saved. You are deceiving yourself.
A Sinner is not a Christian. 1 john 3:8 A Christian is not a Sinner 1 John 3:9
True repentance of a man with more than one woman will entail him settling all his sin partners , sending them back to their parents and making peace with his 1st legally married Wife. This is true Repentance.
Any other thing is you Deceiving yourself.
I agreed with you on "turning away from your evil deeds" but on restitution Jesus did not specifically tell anyone to do restitution rather the holy spirit/word of God convince them to do so. It was not a law/nor mandate rather the work of the Holy Spirit |

Foreign Affairs › Re: Former British Colonies Owe ‘Debt Of Gratitude’, Says Robert Jenrick by Onewazobia(m): 2:50pm On Oct 31, 2024 |
Ghostagain: So speaking the truth is considered as an act of hatred now ? I guess that in your world view every black person should thank any other black person who does him wrong, because that is your idea of solidarity ?
For your info, except the jebu who didn't consider themselves yoruba in precolonial days, the rest were complicit with the colonizers and never fought against the colonizers. Even up to today, the yorubas vividly thank the British for colonization, because while we were killed and our cities were burnt down by the colonizers the yoruba were elevated by the same colonizers.
Pan Africanism is not about blinding yourself and thinking we all have the same world view , it's about knowledge first, knowing the truth and being wise. Look at the Oni of ife, he was a mere priest before colonization, but thanks to colonization and his usefulness to the colonizers, he was artificially made a king by the colonizers and now he even calls himself "emperor". Some yorubas were actual slave returnees from places like Brazil, they were deported to our region and as soon as they landed they already had a written language (that of the Europeans) and they considered the Europeans their true friends and they saw us as a threat, just like their brothers in Liberia who were slave returnees saw the whites and the locals...
Historical research is important if you want to actually be s true Pan-Africanist.
All true African indigenous rulers in what we call Nigeria today were severely dealt with by the British, the sultan of Sokoto was killed, the Oba of Benin was exiled and many of his chiefs were killed and even humiliated after death, the emir of Kano was also severely dealt with, the emperor of Bornu was also dealt with, meanwhile the yoruba monarchs and those yoruba whom the British would elevate to kingship were collaborating with the British and getting the favours of the British. The kingdom of Benin was totally destroyed and non Eco people were brought into parts of it a d encouraged to declare it as their own land and not Benin land, also monarchs who previously paid tribute to the Oba of Benin were made to declare independence from Benin... Volume without quantity. Ancestral bitterness |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Former British Colonies Owe ‘Debt Of Gratitude’, Says Robert Jenrick by Onewazobia(m): 8:57am On Oct 31, 2024 |
Ghostagain: I can't talk for all precolonial African countries, but mine was not failed nor in dept not incompétent. Our only mistake was loding a war to the British.
I agree with you that some people in the south are just incredibly stupid when they keep assuming they are inherently smarter than northerners or that northerners are more backward than southerners.
The north wasn't backward in precolonial days. 3 kingdoms stand out in Nigeria:
1. Benin 2. Sokoto/Kano 3. Bornu
All other kingdoms were either inconsequential or dependencies of the 3 kingdoms above.
I would like yorubas to stop their cultural appropriation of Benin culture. They claimed the title of Benin emperor, they claimed Benin emperor himself, they've claimed Benin's name, they've claimed Benin artefacts, they even claimed Benin people .... Now they are claiming Benin swords "Ada and Eben", the Oni of ife is copying the crown of the Oba of Benin .... Can the yoruba stop stealing my people's cultural heritage ? I have nothing against copiers when they acknowledge the original, but yoruba Always pretend they are the original and that they passed the tradition over to Benin ... The same hate that aid the colonisers achieved their agenda against the black race |
