Yes the day I went they gave over 95% who stayed longer with justifiable reasons, some produced letters of extension of stay and almost all were elderly people.

Ohhhhh... Thanks alot

Onize B , how long did you over stay so staying 1 month or 2months is still OK dnt think you need to worry , it iswhen you stay past 8weeks and beyond that your visit becomes questionable. In my opinion
Travel / Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by OnizeB: 2:54pm On Mar 16, 2022
Someone pls help now, what can we do if we are in this situation of staying longer than we wrote on the form and we didn't get letter from immigration

Please as regards those who stayed longer than they put on their D's 160, is there no hope for them at all, cos my mum did and beer interview is coming up, she has reasons to stay longer tho but if they won't buy it, is it better she just stays back and not go for it cos the interview is in Abuja n she doesn't stay in Abuja
sappy1981:

Please can you share your transcript when you have the time. - My interview was for about 2 minutes. i was asked where i was headed, the purpose of my visit and who i will be staying with.
Was your last visa issued specifically for childbirth? YES
If not, did you send an email to the embassy before travelling to give birth? And did you stay longer than the time you put on your DS160 - NO
Travel / Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by OnizeB: 10:40am On Mar 14, 2022
So there if one had reasons to stay long, it won't still fly... This is heartbreaking o

She didn't... We didn't even know there was something like this
karypops:

Did she applied for an extension?
Travel / Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by OnizeB: 7:36am On Mar 12, 2022
If one's parent is in this situation, and you have reasons for overstaying, will explaining the reason help, cos my mum overstayed the last time
karypops:

The main problem the VO stated is she said she was spending 3weeks and spent 4months in 2017. She told her to always say 4months if she wants to stay 4months
Travel / Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by OnizeB: 7:30am On Mar 12, 2022
No, at all
Dampops:
Just a follow up to what @fkj950ax said…

Did you give birth to your child in the US? Have you always been going on trips together (previous US trips)? Have you always applied for US visas together?

Thanks

She's in school is the truth. Its not compulsory a child travels with a parent.

Pls what reason can I give for not taking my 7year old daughter along, I feel sayings she's in school is too frivolous
Travel / Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by OnizeB: 12:22pm On Mar 02, 2022
Good day every one, pls as regards this message, I have successfully filled a new Ds 160 as adviced, but I could not upload the my new code on the website I could only upload my mum's who is the principal applicant. What do I do pls
OnizeB:
Please I need advice, my mum and I will be going for US visa interview next month, my mum has however been issued visa before and it expired last year, I want to follow her now because my sister needs me to take care of her kids and also help take my mum for follow up appointment on the surgery she did.
The main problem is this, as at last year when we filled the form Ds 160, we wrote that we will spend 6 months cos my sister will be going for Military training but since we couldn't get an earlier date, she couldn't go.
Now going for the interview, I don't intend to spend more than 2months cos I have business and a daughter to take care of.
I hope if I say I'm staying 2months, it won't contradict what I earlier stated in the forms.
Please a response will really guide me on the right thing to do
Thanks

Thanks so much, I am working on changing the
time
Oggg:
pls dnt go to the embassy with the form that states you intend spending 6 months. I can assure you it will not end well. You are not a nanny to come and stay with your sister’s kids for 6 months, it is not a reason to be given visa. Pls visiting family that you have missed is an enough reason to travel, not necessary to say you are coming to the US for 6 months to stay with her children for 6mnths. What of ur own circumstances in Nigeria?- that is what will be important to the visa officer, not necessarily whether ur mom has previous us travl hx or ur sister’s military training

Thanks so much...
EuniqueBabe:
Dont worry, just keep trying and preferably around 1am when the site doesn't have much traffic. Fill the form and replace the DS160 number in the appointment portal. 2 months sef for a visit is too much in my opinion. For the purpose of this visit, say something like 3 weeks or a month max, afterall your sister has already gone for her training. What do you need 2 months for when you have a business and child to take care of.

Travel / Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by OnizeB: 4:41pm On Feb 27, 2022
Like I said, that was the time I stated as at last year, n it want to change it now cos I don't even have an intention of staying that long anymore. What should I do now, been trying to fill a new form but it has not been going thru.
Dampops:
If I’m a visa officer, your reason for the trip is a red flag. Are you out of work in Nigeria that you are willing to sacrifice 6 months for your sister? Will your sister pay you for your service? Will you work in the US during your trip?

You’re applying for a tourist visa and you want to go and do unpaid nanny job for 6 months??

I was at the consulate last week Tuesday and I saw how they were drilling people during the interview sessions…rethink your purpose of traveling

Travel / Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by OnizeB: 2:21pm On Feb 27, 2022
I said I was going to spend 6months cos the training my sister was going for was for 6months, n I will have to stay with her kids till she comes back
TheEnforcer:
How can you say you will spend the whole six months there.?You are prepping yourself there. They frown at people even spending months because they see that as you trying to live in the US and not a genuine visitor. Always try and write as minimum time as possible you can spend there
Travel / Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by OnizeB: 1:17pm On Feb 27, 2022
Please someone guide me on what to do, I've tried filling a new form but I don't even know how to go around this.
Dampops:
Fill another DS 160 form, include these new details. You can then update the new DS160 confirmation number on the interview appointment portal…
