BODY is more important compared to engine when buying a vehicle. The condition of the body of a used car should be a priority before the engine, this is because engine can be rebuilt or overhauled, ringed or completely replaced but once a car has a deteriorated body, its structural integrity has become questionable and safety of occupants cannot be 100% guaranteed.

Also, there is no way you can rebuild the body of a car and the car will still retain its value, but if you change the engine to a brand new engine all things being equal, you still have a great value on your car. The body of a car gives the first impression about the car.

People risk buying lemon cars because they know that the engine and other mechanical and electrical components can be easily replaced. BUT once you buy a rusty and rickety looking car, no amount of welding, patching and cosmetics can cover its secret for long. Soon, the body parts will start giving way one after the other and as the owner fixes one, another part is falling off and such experience is usually unpalatable.

Lastly, the body of a car often outlives its engine. There are many cars on the road whose engines have been replaced up to two or three times or even more depending on maintenance but still carrying the same body. You can do away with a problematic engine and get another one but you can't do away with the body of a car unless you want to sell or dispose the whole car completely.

1. YES, driving on reserve fuel for long is not good. It is better to quickly drive to the nearest filling station and top the fuel. When the fuel is low in the tank, it overworks the fuel pump. Also, the fuel pump may suck in the dirts and sediments that are settled below in the fuel tank and cause the vehicle to start jerking. Also, fuel acts as a coolant to the fuel pump, so when the fuel level is below the fuel pump and the pump is exposed, it begins to get hot and may soon damage.

2. YES, changing the engine oil is also known as Lube service. It is good to do your lubrication service as at when due. Change your oil when your vehicle has covered its specified miles/kilometres for oil change. When the oil has overstayed for too long in the engine, it will lose its lubrication capacity and bigins to get thickened. When it thickens it becomes sludge and very soon, the engine will be getting weaker, in extreme cases the engine will eventually get knocked.

3. YES, leaks should be taken seriously. When you notice any leak, do not drive the car until you know where the source is and repair the fault. Leaks can be from fuel tank, power steering fluid, brake oil, transmission oil, radiator (engine) coolant, windshield washer water, or engine oil.
As the Op has rightly said, the AC water is a normal water that flows out freely from the condenser and does not mean any leakage. Any other leakage apart from the AC water should be given urgent attention.

4. YES, the belt drives some very vital component of your car by using the power from the engine. The components driven by your belt include alternator, AC compressor, power steering pump and may drive any other component as designed by the manufacturer. Once you notice a squeaking noise from the fan, it's time to get it replaced. If you have used your belt for a long time, make sure you have a spare belt in your boot incase the current one breaks unexpectedly especially when you want to go on a long journey.

5. YES, if you are stuck in a mud and you try your possible best to drive out but couldn't because your car is not a 4x4 or an all-wheel drive, never force to drive it out. You can call for help to push it out or tow it out. Trying to force drive it out may damage your transmission or the engine especially when you are just revving the engine without being able to drive it out of the mud. This reminds me of an addendum:

ADDENDUM: When you park your car for a long time and you want to warm it, you don't have to rev (in local parlance - raise) the engine on a spot. Revving the engine will make the engine wear out faster. Just start the engine and allow it to keep running without pressing on the throttle or accelerator. The RPM may first rise a little and then come down a bit around 700 RPM and the vehicle sound becomes stable. When the temperature guage pin reaches the mid point, your car is warm enough and you can off the engine.
