Igbos were the main target of northern violence o in 1945 and also in 1953. The latter (killings) was so unprecendatally barbaric that even the colonial officer had to complain to the northern emirs and their allies.

Yet zik and the igbos still clamoured for one nigeria (centralised system) and then proceed to form a new govt with this same northerners that have been killing them. . . . . . .as a junior partner!

The Only TRUTH is that the Hausa-Fulani and Yoruba has cheated the Igbos since the creation of Nigeria. The British has been the brain behind the marginalization of the Igbos in Nigeria. Knowing the aggressiveness of the Igbos in all things, British advised the other tribes never to give chances to Igbos. Igbos has the highest population, followed by Yoruba, but the Hausa-Fulani that has the least population because they has been in power with Yorubas played down the population of the igbos to their advantages. The igbos with highest population has only 5 states, can you imagine?

Come to food production, the northern people in power used Nigerian money to open advanced irrigation system to the northern farmer and cheaper fertilizer, then the north advanced in farming since they can neither trade or read. They are desert dwellers.

Igbos do not have big cities because they are traditional people who lives in villages. Igbos do not envisage foreigner coming to their community to buy or sell, rather the Igbos goes out to the forign land sell and buy. The Igbos are trade themselves and believes in taking the goods to your customs home, which they do even to date, hence there are Igbos everywhere in the world. Igbos do not fight wars and conquer because they has no kings and never think of conquering and ruling, even to date the Igbos has no king and ruler, hence the Hausa-Fulani and Yorubas still play them down.

Igbos has big population even from the beginning of 1000 AD that is why they never bothered to conquer and increase their population. They feel superior and never want to mix with others.
