This declaration comes in response to recent public discussions and reactions by concerned Nigerians regarding the unfolding situation at the University of Calabar, involving the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Prof Cyril Ndifon, and sexual harassment allegations levelled against him.

In her own words, Barr. Uju stated: "I wish to express my sincere apologies to those who were offended by my comments and actions regarding the sexual harassment scandal at the University of Calabar. This is extremely regrettable as my intentions were sincere and aligned with my consistent advocacy for the welfare of Nigerian women and the pursuit of justice. It is worth recalling that during a recent appearance on AIT, the Honourable Minister was unequivocal in her condemnation of sexual harassment and related offences. She also expressed deep concern over the escalating cases of sexual harassment across campuses and emphasized the need for decisive action, assuring that her Ministry would actively seek justice for those affected.

Our Correspondent reports that Prof. Cyril Ndifon of the institution was widely reporter to have violated the well-written rules and regulations the University.

The legal luminary cum politician said no one will escape justice, noting that it will be vigorously pursued to the end with aim to unraveled the controversy surrounding the sex scandal.

The women affairs Minister stated this in a recent interview with Journalists, where she declared that whoever lies on the issue will be thoroughly investigated and prosecuted accordingly. The Minister’s words; “Whoever that lies on the Calabar sexual case will be prosecuted and jailed.”

“I will take up the case personally, I will also make sure anyone involved in lying on the matter go to jail. Not minding the personality involved, whether it is the Vice Chancellor, Professor, or the alleged victim” she said.

It would be recall that the Management of the University of Calabar, UNICAL, have suspended the Dean, Faculty of Law, Prof. Cyril Ndifon, over violation of the provisions of the extant laws and policies of the institution.

They are also responsible for preparing the necessary academic brief, university law, and university master plan to be presented to the National Universities Commission (NUC) for recognition and approval. Additionally, the committee will determine an ideal location and a takeoff site to ensure the immediate commencement of academic activities. Addressing the sustainability of the university, the committee will identify realistic and sustainable funding sources. Any other activities required for the university's immediate takeoff are also within the committee's purview.

Governor Bello has emphasized the importance of involving individuals who can add value to the committee's work and activities, suggesting that the committee may have the authority to co-opt other individuals, both Kogites and non-Kogites, to contribute their expertise to the establishment of the university.

The committee has been given a timeframe of six weeks from the date of inauguration to submit its reports, showcasing the governor's commitment to a swift and efficient process in establishing the state-owned university.

Prince Mustapha Mona Audu (PMMA) has vehemently denied accusations of betrayal circulating on social media in a viral audio record.

The audio recording alleged that Mona, along with his brother and Ahmed Ododo the All Progressives Congress Kogi guber candidate, spent several days in Lagos attempting to meet with the incoming Nigerian President, Ahmed Bola Tinubu. The speaker claimed that Mona sought to promise Tinubu that he would frustrate the Igala agenda.

However, the former governorship candidate has refuted these claims, asserting that he is unaware of the speaker's allegations and vehemently denies any involvement in discussing Kogi Politics in Lagos let alone, betraying the Igala Kingdom.

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has won the prestigious Governor of the Year award at the 2023 edition of Global Excellence Awards.

The committee on the awards said Governor Bello was singled out for the award in recognition of his achievements in the growth and development of Kogi State, which had been corroborated by respected national and international organisations, including his unrelenting commitment to human capital development, empowerment, and infrastructure growth in the education and health sectors of the state’s economy.

Following the recent pronouncement of the party zoning some key positions to the National Assembly and the conspicuous absence of the North Central in the zoning formula, she is calling for the inclusion of the zone in the sharing formula.

She made this known in her interaction with some critical stakeholders of the party in Abuja on Friday.

Princess Zahrah said that the North-Central Zone contributed immensely to the victory of the party in the presidential and national assembly elections which today is responsible for the party holding strong at the centre.

While calling on the party leadership to re access its stance , she said that the North-central must be well integrated in the scheme of things based on the sacrifices and immense contributions made in achieving victory for the party both at the Parliament and executive level.

She added that wider consultation with stakeholders must be made to ensure that those that must represent the zone are people of good character ,vision and capacity to provide good leadership and representation that would chart a new developmental agenda for the North Central zone.

Princess Zahrah berated the past method of nomination for appointment which she said always reward those that didn't contribute to the party's struggle at the expense of those that worked tirelessly day and night for the success of the party whose hope are later quashed via the bad reward mechanism.


She, however, expressed her optimism that the party will do what is right and ideal this time around by not only giving the zone a proper recognition via appointment but ensure that those given are deserving of such positions .

The Board Chairman, Kogi State Office for Disability Affairs, Hon Ibrahim Daniel Arome has described the Rector, Kogi State Polytechnic, Dr Usman Ogbo as a true mirror of inclusion.

Arome led leadership of the Kogi State Disability Community on a courtesy visit to Dr Ogbo to press demands to make the Kogi State Government owned institution more inclusive and accessible and provide job opportunities for members of the Disability Community.

The Rector in his response told the visiting team of his commitment to making life better for Persons with Disabilities even before his appointment at the polytechnic.

He further promised to do everything within his power to make the institution’s infrastructure accessible to all.


The Board Chairman, while commending Dr. Ogbo expressed contentment at how he ensured all newly constructed administrative blocks and lecture theaters had standard ramps and handrails.

On Job inclusiveness, Arome revealed that the rector promptly engaged some members of the Disability Community as staff of the institution.

The Chairman further expressed confidence on the inclusive character of Dr Usman Ogbo.

According to him, “Dr Ogbo is making life better for the Disability Community just like the State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello”.

Whoever breaches the agreement will know there is a problem for him or her and this can be perfected with the State government.
Our people are predominantly arable Farmers and anything that will not make them go to farm should not be allowed to happen. I’m not asking those in our forest and bushes to leave but if we must coexist then we have to agree how to live in peace together to avoid this type of ugly incident of killing innocent souls who were doing their legitimate businesses to eke out a living but unfortunately were sent to their early graves!


"I urge the State government of Kogi State to go out and fish out the perpetrators at least to give a bit of comfort to the families of the bereaved.

Leke Abejide Joins Kogi Guber Race, May Succeed Yahaya Bello

Elder Leke Abejide, a renowned politician and lawmaker, has joined the Kogi gubernatorial race ahead of the forthcoming elections in the state.

Abejide, who hails from Kogi West senatorial district, picked the interest form of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) on Monday to signify his intention to contest in the polls.

The move by Abejide is seen by many as a boost to the agitation for power rotation to the west senatorial zone of the state. The EBIGO mantra, which stands for Ebira, Igala, and Okun, is a clarion call for equity and fairness in the distribution of political power in Kogi State.

The advocacy for power rotation is hinged on the fact that the Igala people have ruled the state for about 19 years, while the Ebira people have had their turn for eight years. It is believed that it is only fair and just that the Okun people, who have not tasted the position of governor in the state, be given a chance to produce the next governor.

Elder Leke Abejide, who has been described as the most performing and rated politician in Kogi State, is seen by many as the right man for the job. As a lawmaker, he has recorded numerous achievements that have endeared him to the people of the state. One of his most notable achievements is the establishment of the WAEC payment system for students in both private and public schools across his constituency and beyond.

The lawmaker who has over 100 of his constituents under payroll, with some of them earning as high as a Hundred Thousand Naira every month, created numerous jobs for the people.

Apart from that, Hon. Leke Abejide has also played a key role in the passage of several bills that have had a positive impact on the lives of the people of the state. One such bill is the bill for the establishment of the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities, which was signed into law by President Muhammadu Buhari in January 2019. President Muhamamdu Buhari has stated that Nigeria’s insecurity problem can be attributed to powerful countries bent on destroying Nigeria.

Buhari made the assertion on Monday in Kano at a presidential lunch after his tour around the state to commission projects by the administration of Governor Ganduje.

According to him: “One can clearly see how these foreign countries took on our weaker part of Nigeria, the Lake Chad where we have reserves of crude oil, and causes serious mayhem there with consistent attacks.”

But for Governor Zulum who is serious with his duty, the story of the area around Lake Chad would have been different by now, Buhari said.

The President reminded that in 2015 when he assumed office, only four of Borno’s 17 local government areas were not in the hands of Boko Haram.

“And we are aware that people are using the insurgents who are fraudulent to cause problems, but today most of these local governments [areas] are free,” he said.

The President added that those behind the insecurities knew that Borno was potentially a rich state. “That was why when I was a governor there, I went to Niger, Chad and even Cameroon because you need your neighbours to survive,” he stated.

Buhari who expressed happiness with Governor Ganduje for the infrastructural development in Kano State also commended governors of Lagos, Kaduna, Katsina and Kogi states for doing good in their respective states.


The president also urged the elite to work on the education of youths, saying the lack of education among them is a problem.

President Buhari also cracked a joke saying he has huge qualifications including that of suffering and enjoyment while reminding that he was in prison and had contested the presidency on several occasions.

Dr Abubakar Abdullahi Kuso, Personal Assistant to the Executive Governor of Plateau State and Director General of the Tinubu/ Shettima Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) has admonished Nigerians to massively vote for Tinubu/ Shettima based on their past achievements.

In a live video broadcast monitored by the press on Monday, he analysed the antecedents of all the presidential aspirants and rated Asiwaju to be the best for Nigeria and Nigerians.

Dr Kuso who is widely followed by the Youths of Nigeria and popularly known as the "grand commander" of the youths, is one of the most dogged grassroots Politician in North Central region of the country.

Kuso is one of the first promoters of the Asiwaju Presidential Project when he formed the BTSO, a Support group that is one the biggest forces driving the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Project to all the nooks and crannies of the country.

The doctor explained in the video that the candidate of Labor Party, Peter Obi, People's Democratic Party's Atiku Abubakar and Rabiu Kwankwaso were all former leaders but their track records can not be compared to the achievements of Tinubu. He noted that it is not about the religion of the candidate but competency.

The International Organization for Relief, Welfare and Development (IORWD) in partnership with Edushine Support Foundation an NGO, in conjunction with Pharmacist Abdulkareem Asuku Youth Empowerment Foundation (PAAYEF) has begun free surgery for over 200 people who have eye problems troubled with sight in Kogi State.

The NGO’s who sourced the medical experts from Muslim World League is doing the surgery at the Kogi State Specialist Hospital Lokoja.

Recall that, the organization had conducted free eye screening and medication for over 2000 person’s across the three Senatorial Districts of the State.

According to the organizers, the target beneficiaries are 2500 residents, while free cataract surgery is expected to be done for 500 person’s.

The foundation explained that, before the surgery, screening were conducted at different venues across the state namely, Ankpa General Hospital, Idah Zonal Hospital, Kabba General Hospital

Tagged an eye camp in Lokoja Kogi State, the founder of Edushine Support foundation Dr Safiya Musa said she remains committed to giving back to the society.

Musa emphasized the importance of eyes as the light of the body and an integral part of human existence which deserves attention.

She warned that a recent report on prevalence of blindness, globally, has further strengthened the urgent need to take care of the eyes.

Dr Musa said that the programme has mapped out the vulnerable rural dwellers with little or no exposure to facilities and lack of finance to benefit.

Acknowledging the expanse nature of the state however, the focal person of PAAYEF Hon. Mimi Sandra said that the eye Care will place premium on the three Senatorial Districts with a staggering number of cataract patients that need eye surgery in each of the local governments.

Hon. Sandra explained that the eye operations is being carried out by qualified ophthalmologists sourced from Muslim World League.

Beneficiaries across the three Senatorial Districts all expressed their appreciation to the body for enabling them to regain their sights which they described as priceless.

A total of 21 medical team from Muslim World League with support of some staff from Kogi State Specialist Hospital Lokoja where the surgery is been conducted.

Politics is an important part of any society, as it helps to keep order and helps foster development. First, those who are involved in the political arena need to uphold certain ethical standards. There must be a respect for the democratic values of transparency and accountability. Those who serve in public office should bring honesty and integrity to their work, while also keeping their own personal interests out of political decisions. Ultimately, decisions should be based on what is best for the public, rather than what serves private interests. Proper codes of conduct and ethics should be instituted to hold public servants accountable for their actions.

Additionally, it is important for elected leaders to have a willingness to put aside party differences and work together towards common goals. This means that those in political power must recognize the wisdom of bipartisanship. Leaders should not only focus on the views of their own party or constituents, but find ways to bridge the gap and work with diverse groups and their ideas. They should be prepared to investigate various solutions, while also recognizing the importance of compromise when needed. The key is to find a balance between competing interests, in order to serve the greater public good.

Finally, there is an urgency for those in political power to respond to the public’s demands in a timely manner. Politicians should be dedicated to being responsive to the public’s needs and addressing important matters. In order to do this, elected officials must be willing to engage in constant dialogue and actively seek to understand the perspective of their constituents. This provides the opportunity for government officials to gain a better understanding of the problems and challenges facing their respective constituents, and better equips them to enact policies that can help to improve their lives.

At its core, politics does not have to be a “dirty game.” When those in power commit to ethical leadership, working together in a bipartisan manner, and providing effective representation, then politics can be a platform for positive change and growth. If people of all backgrounds come together to engage in open discourse and strive for solutions that work for everyone, then politics can be a source of strength and growth for a society. In short, politics should not be a dirty game, but rather an opportunity to create positive solutions that can benefit all.

Bola Tinubu Support Organisation (BTSO), led by its National Cordinator, Dr. Abdullahi Abubakar Kuso, on Monday, 16th January, 2023, saw over 1 million youths turned out for a solidarity one-million-match for Tinubu/Shettima in Niger South Senatorial District ( Zone A).

The convener of the programme cum National Cordinator of the group, Dr. Kuso led the youths in the match in Bida.

In what started, like a mini rally gathered momentum at about 10 am, leading to a total lockdown of the ancient town of Bida.

Former Nigerian Super Eagles players, known as the legends, have moved the Tinubu/Shettima nation Wide campaign tour to South - South Nigeria, where they have wooed thousands of youths for the presidential flagbearer of the All Progressive Congress, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his running mate Kashim Shettima.

The youth constitute the largest voting bloc in Nigeria, and the Super Eagles Legend are making sure all the youths are mobilized to unite all over the country in voting for Tinubu/Shettima in the 2023 Presidential Election.

Recall that the Super Eagles Legends National Campaign was launched on December 10th at the Prestigious Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano by President Muhammadu Buhari, who was represented by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. femi Gbajabiamila.

The Kano State Governor Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje was the chief Host, While the Secretary of the APC Presidential Campaign Council His Excellency Rt. Hon James Abiodun Faleke alongside National Leaders and stakeholders where in attendance with over 68,000 fans and Supporters of Tinubu/ Shettima at the Sani Abacha Stadium Kano, the entry pass into the stadium for both the Flagg off and south South tour is show your PVC. The tour had been consistently ongoing having done in Kano, Ibadan/ Abeokuta, Bauchi/ Gombe, Kaduna and Now Asaba/ Benin.

They stated that the use of PVC is simply to encourage the teaming supporters and grassroots young people and voters to collect their PVCs and vote en masse for Asiwaju 2023. The PVC distribution exercise is still ongoing, and they have urged the youth to take advantage of this Golden Opportunity and collect their PVC in order to vote for Tinubu.

In their remarks, the program's conveners, Sylvia and Dr. Hassan, commended the Super Eagles Legends for disseminating the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential message to the grassroots and expressed joy over the message's acceptance by thousands of youth groups in the South South and Nigeria at large.

They also thanked Chief James Faleke fot his supports in ensuring the success of the Programme across the country.

Former Nigerian Super Eagles players popularly known as the legends, have moved the Tinubu/Shettima Nationwide Campaign Tour to Kaduna North - West of Nigeria where they on Thursday mobilized sports enthusiast, footballers, fans of the round leather game, and youth groups in support of the All Progressive Congress (APC) president flagbearer.

For the North West Tour, the legends met with youth groups, football clubs, journalists, sportsmen/women, and other Critical Stakeholders in Kaduna and Zaria.

The Legends led by the organizers and convenners of the Super Eagles Legend National Campaign Tour, Miss Sylvia Iwong Ugi and Dr. Hassan Abdulrahman alongside several members of the former Super Eagles players captained by former African Best winger and Ajax Amsterdam of Netherlands gorward Tijani Babangida, which had also in attendance Garba Lawal, Abdul Sule, Ibrahim Babangida, Rabiu Ali, Ifeanyi Udeze and others engaged thousands of youths in several activities during the North West tour at the newly remodelled famous Murtala Square Kaduna all for Tinubu/ Shettima Presidential Project 2023.

The Tour's events and activities include: 60 teams Participation in a 5 Aside Football Championship for Tinubu/Shettima with representatives from all Local Government Areas at the Youth Teams Competition aimed at galvanizing Massive Youth Support for Tinubu/Shettima.

Other activities during the tour included the distribution of customized Tinubu/Shettima Football Jerseys, Branded Footballs, customized Polo Shirts, training kits, customized Face caps, flyers, and various campaign items to Kaduba State groups, youth football teams, and other football stakeholders.

Youth groups and footballers in Nigeria's North West Zone responded by endorsing and declaring support for the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Project.

The groups claimed that the Tinubu Project was a good omen for Nigerian youths because Tinubu has lifted so many Nigerian youths to greater heights regardless of tribe, ethnicity, religion, or geographical zone.

The legends stated that the presidency is now in the turn of the South as the North has had their fair share of 8 years under President Muhammadu Buhari, and they also stated that Asiwaju's performance as Governor of Lagos State remains unrivaled in Nigerian history. They noted that today, Lagos' template is very clear and far ahead of other African states, and it serves as a good example for traveling around Nigeria beginning in 2023. The sportsmen urged Asiwaju to take football and sports seriously once he is elected President.

A clear indication that the message of the Super Eagles legends is spreading faster than expected, they urged all Nigerian youths to join the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Project as soon as possible.

Tailoring too many words or explanations to prove a point when writing about good people is not necessary. A simple mention of their name is all that is required because a good name is everything. As a result, whenever and wherever the name Dr. Salisu Usman Ogbo is mentioned, even non-living things in the vicinity are aware that growth, development, and philanthropy are being discussed. The name is synonymous with anything beneficial to humanity. This is one of the key men with whom Governor Yahaya Bello is successfully building the state. You do not need to go verify it; simply Google it.

By now, Nigerians and the rest of the world would have realized that Gov. Yahaya Bello's unexpected emergence as governor of Kogi State in 2015 was completely the work of God. It seemed as if the north-central state could not undergo comprehensive reformation unless the old third-rate leadership was completely replaced. As a result, Gov. Bello divinely emerged, paving the way for a new generation of visionary leaders such as Dr. Ogbo, whose name has become the only name in the mouth of the people whenever the state's academics or education affairs are being talked about.

Gov. Yahaya Bello's eagle eyes in spotting fit with wit individuals and entrusting them with appropriate positions may be difficult to explain. However, the appointment of Dr. Ogbo as Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, was not really shocking. While at Kogi State University, now Prince Abubakar Audu University, the uncommon teacher had a towering name. And, just as a golden fish has no hiding place in the river, he was called upon.

The Governor appointed the distinguished Doctor to the deserving position of acting Rector on April 7, 2020, there, Dr. Ogbo found a platform to fly above all imaginations. Today, all doubts have been dispelled, and all side talks have been put to rest. His accomplishments have put to rest any doubts about his capacity, with glory to the Governor. But let us not dwell on the past.

Dr. Ogbo, as rector of Kogi Poly, is more or less the leading figure in the Kogi State education sector, working tirelessly to supplement the Governor's legacies.

He made a wise beginning. visiting all local authorities and traditional chiefs to lay the groundwork. As Abraham Lincoln once said, "Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening the axe," we initially thought he was wasting time. Ogbo had enough time to set up the grounds before taking off, and immediately he took off, all we were seeing was standardizing of everything in the school, including the structures.

The Polytechnic now has one of the best education systems in terms of structures, student welfare, safety, academic standards, and so on, thanks to policies and painstaking paperworks by Dr. Ogbo with the backings of Governor Bello.

The Kogi Poly under the administration of Dr. Ogbo, is highly rated in Webometric's most recent ranking of academic institutions in Nigeria. The Management of Webometric, a leading Spain-based Institutions ranking organization, stated that four ranking factors were used while shedding light on the ranking criteria: openness, impact, presence, and excellence. Kogi State Polytechnic easily surpassed many well-known institutions thanks to their criteria because those components are ingrained in Governor Yahaya Bello's governance model.

Those who knew Dr. Ogbo previously knew that Governor Yahaya Bello had picked the best hand when his confirmation as Rector made headlines in 2021.

In recognition of Dr. Ogbo's contributions to the state's development, the Attah of Igala bestowed a chieftaincy title on him based on his accountable achievements. Such titles are not for common people in Igala land.

Dr. Ogbo is one of the governor's reliable allies, and his appointment remains a legacy the Governor is leaving behind, even as he leaves office months from now.

In the last count of milestone achievements of Dr. Ogbo, the pragmatic leader was credited with over 66 solid projects stemming from physical facility development and renovation, administrative reforms and expansion, academic advancement and quality assurance, student welfare, the provision of vehicles, as well as security.

When the school acquired full accreditation in June last year, the Punch Newspaper reported that the polytechnic is "first among its peers." This was made possible by the best professionals in engineering and other fields being drawn to the institution, by the administration of Rector Ogbo, a feat made possible with the governor's support.

For Governor Bello, there is no room for mediocrity in any sector. Hence, Dr. Ogbo cannot be left behind in an administration whose only mission is to rescue and rebuild the state.

Now that the Kogi State Polytechnic is rebuilt, adding to the reformation of the education system of Kogi State, we Kogites are still expectant of greater things Dr. Ogbo would do for the people in the nearest future if a greater opportunity is given, God's willing.

…says administration committed to more developmental strides

Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello has assured that the year 2023 holds great hope for the nation of Nigeria and her peoples even as he declared that over the last 7 years his New Direction Administration has ensured that Kogi State is firmly set on a trajectory that would see her emerge prosperous and enviable among states in the country.

Governor Bello made this known in his New Year message in which he extended his wishes for a great year to Nigerians and particularly Kogi citizens, even as he scored his administration high in performance.

‘As recently as January 2016 when we took over, Kogi State was largely not on the list of choice places to live and do business, but today, we offer levels of security, unity and prosperity that many have found attractive – hence the influx of new people into our state which was widely reported by both local and international media.’

The Governor who said that President Buhari’s visit last Thursday to commission some of the legacy projects built under his leadership was significant. According to him, ‘Nigerians, and indeed people farther afield are now aware that this state offers them some functional alternatives to one or two medical, educational and other services which improve citizens’ standard of living which they can take advantage of’.

The Kogi State governor reminded Nigerians that 2023 was a year of pivotal elections, especially the one to elect a new president and vice president for the country. He urged citizens who have not done so to go and collect their permanent voters cards insisting that under the All Progressives Congress (APC) as Governing Party, elections had become progressively credible, and free from manipulation.

Governor Yahaya Bello once again canvassed support from Nigerians for the ticket of the APC for the Presidency, insisting that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his running mate, Senator Kashim Shettima had the proven track record to lead the country, build on the successes of the current administration and correct any lapses.

Bello therefore welcomed everyone to the New Year and thanked The Almighty God for life and health given to all who have witnessed it. He also wished those with any ailments full recovery while commiserating with those who lost family, friends and loved ones in the old year 2022. ‘I particularly congratulate the good people of Kogi State for witnessing the year 2023. As an administration we pledge to continue doing our very best to make it a most prosperous and progressive one for all of us.’

He promised that his last year in office would be made pleasantly memorable for Kogi State in terms of transformational leadership and good governance. ‘We shall not relent in working hard and smart for you in government to consolidate on our performance in order to fulfill all aspects of our mandate and even surpass them’.

In an interview on the 31st of December 2022, when asked about her views about the G-5 Governors joining the APC, she said “Anyone who believes in the progressive ideology is welcome in the APC but the actions of theses Governors are more like terrorist trying to hold everyone to ransom.
Personally I don’t see what value they will bring to the party as we have very strong stakeholders in most of their states, In Benue for example we have H.E George Akume, we also have an extremely popular candidate for Governor Rev. Father Alia, so what value is Ortom to us? In Rivers we have H.E Amechi and so many other critical stakeholders, what do we need Wike for? Infact how can we trust such people.

She went on to say that this style of Politics that the G-5 Govenors are playing is extremely unprincipled and not something that should be encouraged in Nigeria, it is a new low. I have never seen where a Governor is holding a party ticket for Senate and publicly saying they will support another party for another position, it’s a new low and it is not something that should be encouraged.

She called on the leadership
Of the APC and the Presidential Candidate to please focus on the APC Governors, candidates and stakeholders and not pay any mind to the G-5 as with or without their support the APC will win at the polls.

What matters now is for us to all go to the grassroot and work for our party. Personally I don’t care about the G-5 Governors

Governor Wike, who is seen as the arrowhead of the G5 had on different occasions during Press releases and interviews made it known that he remains in PDP and he will never leave the party he has contributed to since 1998. But recently, indications of the lingering crisis in the PDP have shown that things not going in the favour of Wike and his cohorts, who want the National Chairman remove to pave way for the Southern chairman.

Unconfirmed reports and speculation that the G5 Governors held a closed-door meeting with the Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in London with the possibility of working for the candidate of the APC.

She went on to say the presidential candidate of the APC should tread with caution when dealing with the G-5 Governors to maintain the peace and cohesion the All Progressives Congress have been enjoying in these states, especially in Benue where the party has major key actors who have put in their best for the party with someone coming on board to hijack the structure from them.
Although the victory of the party is very key as election is won on numbers, we must not take for granted the peace , cohesion, and stability of the party in these states.

She also said it was necessary for our leaders to recall the history of some of these Governors like Ortom that won his governorship race on the APC platform after the ill-treatment meted at him in PDP in 2015 and still returned to the PDP after riding on the horse of the APC to victory.

She further stated that the APC has sellable candidates in H.E Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and H.E Kassim Shetima and the G-5 would not be a deciding factor in the party’s victory in the 2023 elections.

The APC should not be a dumping ground for the rejected and disgruntled elements of the PDP who are outcasts in their party to take refuge and asylum in the All Progressives Congress without minding the danger they pose to the peaceful coexistence in the APC.

These elections will not be about and one leader telling people who to vote for, most of the leaders are not even sure who their immediate family members will vote for, rather than spending time chasing the so called G-5 Govenors we should focus on gaining the hearts of the people at the grassroot, and not with rallys but with more intimate engagements.

She also stressed that engaging with these Governors publicly is extremely bad for our candidates in those states.
