ZarZar:Same way guys sliding into your DM are nigh guaranteed to end up with a lying loser or become catfish or shark statistics right? Thanks for the heads up. ![]() |
Only damaged people need therapy. I mean psychologically damaged.
Stay away from damaged persons.
Friendly advice ![]() |
2dugged:Believe whatever you want, if it helps you rest better. |
2dugged:A lot of people may be silly, unable to make constructive arguments and downright annoying but when it comes to physical appeal, everyone knows what easy on the eyes and what's not. No one needs to be 500 years old nor hold a Cambridge degree to tell the difference between ugly and pretty. It's wired into our genetics. Read mate selection? |
2dugged:A lot of people on this thread disagree totally with your position thankfully. Like I noted earlier, the back story lends little importance to the debate. Sleep well. |
2dugged:Ugly. I'm blunt like that. Your signature says it all. Truth is not meant to be palatable. |
2dugged:To avoid ambiguity Presentable is definitely not ugly. There are recognisable lines between ugly, presentable and beautiful no matter how relative. 'My' standards or not, they conform with societal dictates. Its use is not as you interpret it. You are welcome. |
2dugged:Apples and oranges. Whatever was the initial story is not my issue. "People judge others harshly on the basis of physical appeal." This is the topic in case you forgot. Most people will prefer being with a presentable partner than with an ugly one and that's perfectly normal - my stance. She was pretty after makeup = she's ugly. I answered that question very succinctly in my first reply. My standards are private but physical beauty is PARAMOUNT in my criteria. |
2dugged:I was right after all. This will be difficult. Your answer is woven in the previous post. I will be clearer though. 1)Not all laws are written down. Some of the most strictly adhered laws are unwritten. E.g. Acceptable behaviour in public. 2)Pretty face or not has little to do with confidence as do first impression. Especially when it comes to physical assessment. Ugly people will always be derided for their looks FIRST before we care to find out anything else about them. You and everyone else is the society. Sorry it can't be taken out of this discussion. Believing all the new age " I am not a conformist" talks is practically self deceit. To not conform there must be a standard to rebel against. To rebel against a standard is to accept that standard as a pillar in your decision making process. To accept a standard is to conform to it notwithstanding the sense. This is purely logic. 3)I don't care what a woman does with her life much less her face but I am not rolling with an ugly woman both on and off makeup. Mutually exclusive. |
2dugged:This will be difficult. Society is judgmental - wealth, beauty and fame are metrics. Being ugly, poor or notorious will always be a drawback at least in today's society. Be choosy all you want, it doesn't matter. Not all rights can/will be exercised after all. HYPOCRISY is believing or vehemently proclaiming otherwise as opposed to the honesty of living the truth. I care about a lot of things in a woman but that's none of your business. Rest assured that physical attractiveness is A TOP PRIORITY. Please reserve the gutter language you are so proficient at spewing for your ilk on here. God bless as you comply or not. ![]() |
2dugged:Actually they aren't being hypocritical, but sadly you are. For ages humanity have always attributed certain prestige to looks and Power and affluence. It won't stop today and possibly, forever. Society thrives on classification and strata. Don't discount these all in a bid to sound modern. |
Lamzee:My honest advice factoring the Nigerian situation is Biochemistry. URP requires a lot of networking to land a good job after school as most of what they do are government projects. These days, civil engineers are used to replace them even. Biochemistry on the other hand is a lot more flexible. Just be sure to take your studies very seriously so when you are done, opportunities will seek for you. But whichever degree you choose to pursue make the best out of it. Lol I prefer to be addressed on first 'moniker' basis. The 'sir' is unnecessary ![]() |
Lamzee:Estate management is about assets and properties. The employment opportunities is usually seasonal as asset sale, lease or transfer is not something that happens all the time. Biochemistry can work in bottling companies, food manufacturing companies and anything that has to so with food and to a certain extent drugs. Geology is basically Oil and gas especially upstream and midstream. Mining too and even in borehole installation companies. Anything that has to do with minerals and the lithosphere is their forte. Apologies for late reply. I skipped this mention in error. |
Mynd44:Have you bothered to step out of your home before? The most basic student of Nigerian history should know the East-West Road. Very embarrassing. Anyway, it's today's Nairaland. I expect too much. |
Lamzee:Your maths is solid so is your chemistry and biology Physics on the other hand not so impressive Building tech, urban and regional planning are more about structures and you need to be well-grounded in physics - mechanics and dynamics. Estate management requires mostly economics. You appear to be sound in that area too. But job prospects is what I worry about. Industrial chemistry is great. It fits well in the grand scheme of things. Very versatile too. You can work in nearly all types of industries. Microbiology and Biochemistry will confine you to medicine and pharmacology respectively. Don't bother with botany. If you really have the zeal to go entrepreneurial after school then go with fisheries. The market is expanding rapidly. Agriculture in general. But your Agric strength seems shaky. Don't waste time with zoology and psychology. Geology is very good if you have interest in the mining and Oil and gas industry. The problem is the competition in those areas. Choosing this will mean you have to do very well in school. Your geography strength is very impressive. Studying geography as a course will mean you are planning to teach - that's if you stay back in Nigeria after schooling. My recommendation in order of preference: Geology (if you are ready to put in the work) Industrial Chemistry Estate management Biochemistry/Microbiology Geography |
NASTYNASOSO:LAHORE: (Web Desk) – There are many myths and legends surrounding the April Fool’s Day and almost all of them look quite compelling, especially when compared to the myths circulating on the internet, and given currency to by some of the columnists in Pakistan, regarding the victimization of the Muslims by Christians on this day. There are several such stories circulating on the web but the top three will be discussed here. Fall of Granada and Christian conspiracy: Granada was one of the most glorious cities ruled by the Muslims in the past. It was the heart of Muslim Spain containing some of the most beautiful monuments built by the Umayyad caliphs of the region. The conspiracy theory regarding the fall of Granada says that the Muslims were unbeatable in Spain some 1000 years ago. When the Christians of Spain realized that they could not defeat the Muslims in a combat, they finally decided to introduce liquor and tobacco to the Muslims, according to this theory. When in 1492, the Muslim fort was finally taken by Ferdinand and Isabella; they celebrated the day as April Fool’s Day because according to this theory, Christians conspiracy had worked. Fact: To discredit this theory, the very fact that Muslims surrendered on 12th of January and not 1st of April is enough. However, there is more to it. Truth is that the Europeans were introduced to tobacco after quite some time and Muslims were introduced to liquor way before 1492. Muslim massacre by Spaniards: Another story says that when Muslims were being shipped back from Spain after the fall of Granada in 1492, they were given guarantees of security by the Spaniards. But when they were in the middle of the sea, all of them were massacred by the Spanish crew of the ship. Fact: The theory is again highly misleading as Muslims were not ordered to evacuate Spain until 1609. Bahadur Shah Zafar presented with his son’s skull: When the last king of Mughal dynasty Bahadur Shah II, or more commonly known as Bahadur Shah Zafar, was sacked by the East India Company in 1857 as a result of the mutiny in India, he was exiled to Burma, currently Myanmar. It is said that he was presented with his son’s skull as breakfast on April 1st and that it was an act of celebrating April Fool’s Day by Major Hodson. Fact: This theory also remains ill-founded. Although Bahadur Shah was presented with his son’s skull but that was in accordance with the Nowruz celebrations, a Persian festival that was regularly celebrated in Mughal India. Although the festival also starts on March 21 and this is quite possible that the skull arrived a few days late given the means of transport in those days, the fact remains that it was in accordance with Nowruz and not the April Fools’ Day. The latest: Tipu Sultan s death In a stream of conspiracy theories, the latest one has been coined by none other than the Punjab government s spokesperson Syed Zaeem Hussain Qadri who has said on Tuesday that Muslims should not celebrate April Fools Day because Tipu Sultan, the eighteenth century Muslim ruler of the Mysore kingdom, in Southern India, also embraced martyrdom on 1st of April. Fact: Although remedies as banal as facts cannot cure the disease that the conspiracy theorists suffer from, the sad fact is that this theory, too, is ill-founded. Sultan Fateh Ali Khan Tipu, or Tipu Sultan, actually embraced martyrdom on 4th of May, 1799. Reality of April Fools Day: According to most historians, April Fools’ Day started to be celebrated in the sixteenth century when the Pope declared 1st of January as the start of the New Year replacing 1st April, which was previously believed to be the first day of the year. There were some people who refused to celebrate the New Year on 1st of January and stuck with 1st of April. These were the people who were started to be called as April Fools by those who had abided by the Pope’s verdict and had started to celebrate the New Year on 1st of January. However, there is nothing concrete. http://dunyanews.tv/en/Pakistan/271087-Muslim-myths-surrounding-April-Fools-Day--and-re |
The car was valued at $142000 when the exchange rate was 155/$. (2014) Then the custom officials say the car is worth over #298million naira. Who else is seeing this discrepancy? Modified: The $142k vehicle was a front. The RR sentinel is about $500000. So at current 450/$ it's reasonable to peg the price at 298 million naira. |
Grammar is very basic I mean 'Yoruba-movie-subtitles' level of basic. Plot is too simple - felt irritating after the first 10 writs. Scenery and use of imagery is practically nonexistent. Depth of research involved is zero. Character creation and differentiation; blatant zero. Sorry if this hurts the writer. Rest assured that 90% of the works littering this section are all the same. You are not alone. Rich guy meets wretched lady and they end up getting married. STALE! Try something like focusing on a character building themselves from nothing and failing. Pick a location, pick a time period, pick a circumstance and write something that really keeps us awake at night thinking about how else the story could have turned out. Challenge our personal biases. Teach us something new. Most boring stories are always all about happily ever after. Dare to be different. End it with us wondering. Can you write about a cancer patient? Can you write about a street-bred fellow and his travails? He doesn't have to 'hammer' he just needs to have a beautiful story. Dare to be creative please. Literature that doesn't touch our core is no literature. Please read https://www.artsandafrica.com For those wondering. It's a Pan-African writers' den. Writers from all over Africa write there. Amaze yourself with the creativity contained therein. Btw, I'm not affiliated to it in anyway. I have read good short stories there is why I'm sharing. I believe you can do better. You can take writing courses online and better your skill. Writing is more than just stringing sentences. It's an ART. |

Picked up my Mi Max yesterday. Still settling into the new device. And yes! It is massive. You'll get used to it though with time. I am used to it already ![]() The battery is awesome. Since 7am at 99 percent I used it nonstop (browsing, some music and video streaming) with data on, hotspot on (intermittently for about 2 hours) brightness at Auto, wifi on ( intermittently for about 30mins) and about an hour without use. I've still got 47 percent. Total SOT is nearly 5.5hours. Totally stood up to the hype. The display is great too. You might want to set contrast to cool. I found the mode more comfortable for my eyes. Thanks to everyone who contributes/contributed to the thread. One way or another you eased the entire process.

enuk80:i don't usually comment on this section for obvious reasons but your case is just.... oomph I'm sure you are introverted, scared of socializing, have few friends and rarely make effort to get to know new people. This particular lady must have been the one who technically walked up to you and indirectly did all the work required to get you into the relationship. You couldn't believe your luck maybe because she is quite not in your league and vowed to do all it takes to keep it afloat - probably she's your first ever real commitment (nothing to be ashamed of). So the sham of a relationship started and as usual she is a damaged person used to people running roughshod on her emotions and self esteem and can't believe you are nothing like that. Sure, the first few weeks were smooth and she treated you like a king and was careful to not do anything to ruin the heaven she was building with you. Then the damaged soul in her sprang up and like a dog she wanted to taste her vomit again. ALl your good deeds began to irritate her and she found it easier to just run off to the lord of the rings fiance for more emotional torture. As expected, when she is caught, she apologises, and other times when she feels remorseful she acts right. You on the other hand keep blaming yourself for all her shiit and kept up the good guy facade which by now is more like a license for her to do as she likes and apologise later. Very convenient. Dude listen up. You are dating a damaged girl, (there are lots of them out there). The annoying aspect is that you are already getting damaged just like her. You want out? It's simple, get out there and socialize. Meet new people guys and girls. Screen those you want to get close to you and dump the rest. I assure you the only reason you are still with this damaged woman is because you DONT HAVE AN OPTION. GET THE HELL OUT OF YOUR HOUSE AND MEET WITH NEW LADIES. GET REJECTED AND INSULTED BY WOMEN WHO ARE WORTH IT. Not these snapchat and instagram/reality TV hoes littering the streets (thanks J. Cole for that line). Afterall, your damaged gf has done more than that to you already. SHE FRIGGING ABORTED YOUR CHILD - Dude if this means nothing to you then your case is actually different - in the negative light. If you can't do that dude i'm not sorry but you will be an underachieving failure and probably doubt your abilities all your miserable life. Btw- ignore my typos i'm not proofreading shiit. |
nurez305:Mine took six days to ship but I believe Dreami stores took it seriously after I messaged them to complain bitterly but politely. You can try it too. Same thing yesterday. My item was stuck at handover to airline for nearly 7 days and I complained again. Three hours later, after he/she promised to look into it, it was updated to despatched to Nigeria. Message them they will respond and are very helpful. Trust me you won't irritate them at all. All the best. |
Hi everyone, So I've been waiting for my order (Mi Max from dreami store) since 10 Feb (it was shipped late though) and for some odd reason it's been stuck at Hong Kong [Hong Kong] Handover to airline for a week now. How much longer before it is finally despatched to Nigeria? My tempered glass is already here and both were ordered with AliExpress free shipping. BTW, the MWC has some promising gadgets up for show, though they seem like they are going to be frigging expensive. ![]() CNET has a list of unveiled items so far. https://www.cnet.com/pictures/mwc-2017-all-the-products-announced/ |
nurez305:If it's the same card try this first. Attempt to load in smaller denominations: 20USD × 4 + 10USD. If this doesn't work you will have to appeal again. Sorry bro. After appealing try to connect with a customer care agent so it can be fast tracked. New AliExpress accounts can fit annoy person sometimes. |
