metal-gong:You need to go to sleep, refresh yourself and then think of all the things that can make Nigeria better. Afterwards, you can then smile and be friendly. I dont want to argue about people that are irrelevant today, you need to consider that too but you have your opinion which is awesome. Read your posts again and tell me if insulting other people based on their tribe is plausible. |
metal-gong:You are very funny, please think before you say anything. We are all working towards one Nigeria or are you not? I didnt mean to offend you, I meant poorly educated in the sense that you seem to believe that every Igbo person wants out of Nigeria. I love my country and I dont think I am any different to anyone else because of my heritage and language, you need to understand that. |
I m Igbo and I dont care about what Ojukwu wants. It is only a minority of Igbos that support the Biafran movement, the rest of us want to live in peace in Nigeria. Minority rule is not democratic. @ metal-gong - you seem poorly educated, stop harassing people. We are all entitled to our opinion, at least that is what we are all striving for. ![]() |
Really, How incompetent is the company you work? You deal with radioactive substances and you have no way of storing the waste, go get some ethics before you make stupid requests. Killing you fellow human beings for material goods, I am almost certain you don't care how it is disposed. |
This is just criminal, why bid for a contract you cannot fulfil. ![]() |
@poster I think you should post what you have to offer and your Nafdac Numbers. Just a thought. |
You can always commision a good consulting company to do the research, you would get better quality info as they would have to research every aspect of the business. Good luck. |
I am just wondering why people are not entering the bamboo procesing business. Bamboo is extremely versatile and it uses are possibly endless. Nigeria has bamboo in abundance and yet there arent manufacturers of bamboo flooring, flat bamboo panels or even bamboo fabric. For me it is annoying that people import synthetic laminate flooring when the cost of set up is low for bamboo processing compared to other industries, I really do wish I dont have two more years to spend in Uni, if not I would have started a company doing it. But anyways, if you are looking for something lucrative that would continue to grow and expand in the long run, then please go into bamboo. You can go to South Africa to see how they do it or to Japan. I am not a fan of China's quality. BTW, I am not a consultant so please dont ask me to send more details, do your research, there is info on the web. You can ask me questions by posting them on this page. See the links below these organisations are trying to promote the use of bamboo. http://www.inbar.int/ http://worldbamboo.net/ This is an idea for people who are in business to grow not those who expect to make a million naira in the first month, Bamboo is cheap. I could keep my ideas to myself but I am neither selfish nor greedy. ![]() |
dichana:Oh my, I am not saying they dont matter, everyone matters. What I mean is that we have a government that would allow so many bad things happen to us and they have been for a very long time. As the people in Haiti are in need and they can utilise the resources then why not. We have to be able to sympathise with others, Nigeria is not a helpless nation, it is just disenfranchised. If we start mobilising ourselves to work together, things can be great but until then they should give the money to those who can utilise it better. Every penny counts my dear. Also, please dont try to sound smart, I have my opinions so have u which is good. |
Once, a family friend bought us four plates of isi ewu and it was really much, I dont think I can even finish one and I eat a lot. However, on that faithfully evening my mum shared three plates with all of us, we were 6 at home that evening. After eating we all left the balcony thinking it had finished, only for me to return and find my mum bringing a plate full of meat from under her chair which she had hidden, she gave me some and told me not to tell. Lol I love this thread. |
I still stand by the fact that if u ever have resources and are unable to use it effectively, then you should give to those who can and need it. By the way, $5 million dollars is nothing to the Nigerian government, the money is there. We just have stupid people sitting on it. I also think that everyone should be able to express their opinions with being insulted and oppressed by others. ![]() |
My thinking is based on morality, if Nigeria thinks it can help, why not? We also find ourselves in need of help but if we can help others better than we can help ourselves then we should. By the way, Nigeria gets a lot of help. Developing countries would only grow if they help each other, either by trade or aid. Most of you guys need to press the reset buttons and think fresh, stop talking and go help where you can. ![]() |
WOW, I cant believe people are not prepared to help those in worse situations than themselves. I hope the government really does help. Be charitable people, it is a good thing. |
This thread is awesome, I loveeeeeeeeeeeeee Chuck Bass. I cant wait for what he would do to his uncle. ![]() |
I liked it and thought they did great at the end, it showed that some people cannot tell the truth regardless of the situation. The wife of the mudered man didn't tell people the truth as to why the man was killed. But anyway I liked the story. I also realised I miss watching movies with Sam Dede. |
@brauneyes - I m not trying to justify anything or be politically correct. I am just trying to put the point across that we as Nigerians tend to forget that we have the power to decide what goes on in our country. If we all should our ground for one moment and collaborate to say no to this oppression, it would stop but we don't. Many Nigerians are happy to be bought which is really sad, that is exactly what we have to stop. When we refuse to be bought, there would be none of this. @beaf - I lived in Warri till I was 16 and I would be going back when I finish studying. U ve absolutely no basis for saying I am ignorant because you don't know me. I understand that you may be confused as to what I am saying. I am not saying that what shell does is acceptable, I am saying that as Nigerians we can do more. We know about the incompetence of our leaders so I don't understand why we are waiting for them. |
This is so funny. I don't know why you guys think Shell should apologise for anything. We tend to forget that Shell is a business entity, a business in incapable of responsibility, it relies on its people. Shell employs lots of people mainly Nigerians who work for them in various locations. Why is it impossible for us to see that it is our fellow Nigerians that are hurting us? We all know about the absurd practices of the company, yet most of us would accept a job at Shell if the opportunity ever presented itself. It is all about morals, ethics and belief systems if we don't respect ourselves, why should anyone respect us? There lots of companies that have the same bad practices as Shell, for example British Tobacco, they are in our country selling us cigarettes, can anyone argue that slowly killing people that cannot afford basic healthcare isn't equally as bad? You can say it is a choice but go and say it to the young boys who live on the streets and smoke to pass time and numb the pain and suffering they encounter on a daily basis. Please forget this nonsense, Nigerians working in Shell are a bunch of greedy and immoral people. If they all felt strongly about their country, they should all go on strike until action has started on the clearing and cleaning of the mess in Delta State. Lets see how that would not work. If you ever see a past state governor throw shit on them except Tinibu. (Funny enough I see a lot of them but it is impossible to tell a friend you hate their fathers.) LOL |
It is so sad that many Nigerians abroad only think of making money by extortion when they come back to naija. ![]() |
@poster I think you should invest in a business that the Nigerian market has not explored in great depths and a business that is sustainable. You should consider starting a bamboo processing plant. It is pretty simple but you need to train staff and get the machines required. Bamboo is very versatile and can be used for different things, you can make bamboo flooring, bamboo boards for wall partitions, blinds and curtains, paper and even make fabric. Considering that bamboo is so widely available in Nigeria, it is an awesome business as the possibilities are endless. Think what ever your can build with wood you can with bamboo, even better your raw material would almost never be scarce. You can build affordable but structural sound homes out of the stuff. I don't live in Nigeria at the moment, for those of you who would start asking why I haven't started the business. I would do it if I can, when I come back in 3 years time but I think it is good to share ideas that can benefit people so that Nigeria can grow. My first post, woooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwww. ![]() |
