I think the warranty is 13 months or so, and I bought it around Nov last year. So it's still under warranty!

The best they should have done ab initio, was to change the phone to a new one and not flash softwares. They've flashed it twice now and it is messing up.

Like I explained before, the engineer that flashed it told me it's the fault of the engineers that received the 1st batch for reviews and test! They've all bn sacked in Ikeja

Exactly....the phone should've been changed immediately.....My brother once bought a defected tecno phone and it was changed immediately.....No one should EVER bear the brunt of defected phones!.....

There will always be defected phones from companies(@ least one in 2k phones) and any consumer who unfortunately buys a defected one should ensure he/she takes it back immediately(since the warranty is still valid) .....And it's the duty of the outlet to change such phones....

I don't think m5 mini has infrared....BUT, if it does, then, you can maybe download a remote app from playstore.....

NB: it can only work on infrared enabled phones......

This is not true. I currently use M5 and I bought it when it came out newly. A week after it was bought, some of the functions were not working. Took it back and they told me they would flash a new software in it(a brand new phone)!

After flashing it, it developed different kind of faults. They claim the battery is 6020mah, I also doubt cos I'm not a heavy user but the battery can't take me for 24hrs at full charge.

The phone is always hot, the phone is heavy, the phone slags often.

This M5 I'm using is a total mess.

Sorry bro.. ..maybe yours is a defected M5.....

I own Gionee marathon m5(which i bought a month after it was released) and i can comfortably say that the phone is perfect for me.....I can go three days without charging(ie on calls and browsing only).....The Zaza remote is perfect and the fast-charge technology is awesome.....

Even Iphone and Samsung sometimes have defected phones too.....

Samsung is dealing with a huge mess surrounding the Galaxy Note 7, as more and more reports have surfaced suggesting replacement units that are supposed to be safe keep exploding.
Several iPhones have exploded in recent weeks as well though, including an iPhone 7, an iPhone 7 Plus and an iPhone 6 Plus. The issues aren’t comparable to Samsung’s troubles, but Apple is already investigating the matter, as a second iPhone 6 Plus has now caught fire.
iPhone owner Yvette Estrada says that her iPhone 6 Plus exploded in the middle of the night, spontaneously bursting into flames. “I heard a sizzling, then we heard the pop and the whole fire was coming out of the screen,” Estrada told ABC30 late last week.
The explosion started a small fire, and her husband acted quickly by throwing the phone into the sink. The firefighters arrived around 3:00 AM to discover “ash, debris, and a melted phone.” The phone got so hot that it damaged the dresser, a pair of glasses and two Apple Watch stands.

“What if this would have been underneath my pillow or if I was on the phone? My face would be burned,” she said. “Hopefully they can fix this, and they can compensate my new phone or do something for me because they have to do right.”

Apple said that it’s looking into both explosions — an iPhone 6 Plus caught fire while in a student’s back pocket during class last week.

The company offered Estrada a new stand for the Watch, a charger and a free replacement of the iPhone 6 Plus. An upgrade to the iPhone 7 was also offered, but she’d have to pay for it. Unfortunately Estrada had not been backing up her data, so she will not be able to recover pictures of her children or any other contents of the phone.....
