Congrats to those offered admission and better luck next time to the rest. As you prepare your RP application, make sure all your documents are valid and if there is any problem with your waec result, recfity it before applying. a friend was denied last year because of age issues. Also if you are using a sponsor, make sure the sponsor has enough funds, and if he or she is not your parent, make sure there is a genuine believable reason for the sponsorship. Lastly, your RP comes with a starting and ending date, so when applying, put the earliest date you want to enter finland. In my own case, i put sept 1st, so even tho my RP came out in the third week of August, I couldnt leave till 2nd september. This is the lil i can remember for now. i'll add some others if/when i remember

am using nipost registered mail to send my acceptance back o. and if by 2nd week of June, the thing no land, I will use dhl straight. forr the admission doc, you mean the admission letter? I think it will take 2-3weeks.

In a place like that, you dont need up to 400 euros per month. So you wouldn't have to work. You are covered throughout.

Just have max 2000 euros in ur acct here and combine with the scholarship certificate. You will get ur permit in record time.

Wow.... double congrats..... you don't need to include a bank statement if the scholarship fully covers the 6,720 euros. You need to include a certificate of scholarship.

The certificate must indicate the following;

1. The name of the recipient

2. The amount

3. The duration of the scholarship


The scholarship na naija scholarship or from the abroad

Na to apply for RP o

Get the following

1. Acceptance letter to the university

2. Health Insurance (AIICO or Mutual benefit)

3. Evidence of sufficient funds (Bank statements and other document to prove source of funds)

4. A passport and passport photo


Then apply online or the hard copy route

Visit the Finnish embassy.


@abebasket97 .... My man..... no near Oulu o.... from discussion with peeps jobs are scarce in Oulu but if u get enough cash Oulu might be cheaper in terms of rent and other expenses. If I were you I will consider Tampere and Turku.... Tampere is an industrialized city (from my research oo as na TUT I dey go) and the 3rd largest metropolis in Finland (after Helsinki and Espoo). The course you will be studying, the ranking of the school, department etc. should also play a part.....(from my research all the schools u mentioned are top schs in Finland)

I thought so too, E be like say the woman wey send me mail just wan see my face and admire my look. She is a Phd. In that department, she sent me mail if am available on Skype, and I said yes then she replied "I will catch u on Skype" in a funny way. So i no get choice but to Skype with her.

I did. I submitted an application for the Industrial Management (GMIT) MSc program. Although my application is still pending with respect to its status on UAF's website. Yeye UAF, I submitted my application before my transcript got to Finland on deadline day some hours before 4pm GMT.

Hhhmmm... I just got a mail from student services 2 attend JAMK entrance exam either in Kenya or Finland. The 6720 Euros is not an issue cos I set the money aside for almost 2yrs now. My problem na say I just get job 4 1 sector of d economy wey I don dey dream about 4 eons now. Wetin una advice abeg..??

@ooluseyipa........It depends on how long you have been working. And its not even compulsory that your combined salary must add up to 1.5m. You can make some deposits to complete it and mention that you do other informal businesses by the side and you get some cash from there as well. Only that its nicer if you salary constitutes the majority.

@billydragon....with such a long employment period and supporting documents, you are good to go.

Apologies. Pls try and Google universities in finland. Admission to master degree programe is far different from master degree. So u will need to contact d university dt u want directly so dt u can have more information.

I will finish my masters by next year May and I intend applying and going for my PhD in Finland September next year. What are the things I need to get for my application? Also note that I will still be on my masters program during the application period but will finish by May 2016.
Please, kindly enlighten and guide me as I wish to start my PhD immediately after my masters there in Finland. My PhD likely to be in Infectious Diseases Epidemiology, Biomedical Science or Public Health.

To the other applicants, I wish all of us success. The weyrey school wey I apply to say dem go conduct skype interview between March 25 and April 15. Biggest obstacle now na that 6,720 euros mehn. With the Naira depreciating every day, that thing go reach almost 2m wey person go need. I don't even have 100k yet lol. Anyway, one step at a time. Skype interview first. I don iron my cloth down. I go put bottles of henny, mo' and Ciroc beside me and maybe two girls wey make sense die. Make dem think say I be baller for Lagos, their 6,720 euro requirement and even their admission no dey shack me.
