GOD IS WATCHING Bill Gates said 10 million Africans could die from Coronavirus-Facebook, Twitter, YouTube clapped for him Melinda Gates said she saw dead bodies litter the streets of Africa being casualties from Coronavirus -Facebook, Twitter, YouTube clapped for her WHO said that in 6months from April 2020, coronavirus could kill 300,000 Africans -Facebook, Twitter, YouTube clapped for them Dr. Stella Immanuel said "NOBODY NEEDS TO GET SICK OR DIE, THIS VIRUS HAS A REMEDY"-Facebook, Twitter, Youtube blocked her, shouting "CRUCIFY HER!". Which one is better? To use what is available and has been in existence in Africa and around the world for over 65years to PREVENT THE DEATH or go on with the conspiracy and allow people to continue to die? YOU BE THE JUDGE. Good morning from this part of the world. DAAFSON AFOLABI |

SOMEONE WILL NEED THIS Foundations provide support for structures, transferring their load to layers of soil or rock that have sufficient bearing capacity and suitable settlement characteristics to support them. Very broadly, foundations can be categorised as shallow foundations or deep foundations: Shallow foundations are typically used where the loads imposed by a structure are low relative to the bearing capacity of the surface soils. Deep foundations are necessary where the bearing capacity of the surface soils is not adequate to support the loads imposed by a structure and so those loads need to be transferred to deeper layers with higher bearing capacity.

WHY YOU SHOULD NEVER GIVE UP He is a cultural dancer. He needed N70,000 for the treatment of his sick child. He decided to have a stage dance to raise the funds. He designed a flyer and started sharing it around his neighbourhood during the day and reharsing his dance routine in the night. His expectations were very high. Then the day came. The stage was set and it was time. To his dissapointment, it was ONLY a small teenage boy that showed up for the event. But he told himself, "I wont chicken out, I must dance and give my best." Then he started dancing. He made sure he gave his best as rehearsed to the admiration of the boy. After the show, the boy left and the man went home sorrowful. Purpose defeated. Status quo remain the same. He was devastated and depressed. But something surprising happened the following morning. The only boy that showed up for the show was the son of a senator. He had always wanted to be a dancer and his father had approved it. The boy had been charged with the responsibility to get a personal trainer and coach. Unknown to the dancer, he was auditioning for a job. The senator called the dancer and gave him a contract of N200,000 monthly salary to train his son with N100,000 upfront payment. Wow! Sometimes, it looks like you are wasting your life when only few people show up for your event/program, engaged your post or buy your stuff. No, you are not. Always give it your best shot. See those few people as millions in your mind. Don't be discouraged from either doing it again or giving it your best. You might actually be auditioning for the big stage. You don't audition with the crowd but with few people that will give you the big stage. Keep giving it your best. People will call you names and laugh at you. But keep showing up better. You are an inch closer to the big stage. Hope this inspires you |

MY STORY As a young boy studying Civil Engineering at the Federal Polytechnic, Idah, I received a bad news that a building collapsed in my town killing an entire family! That severe pain I felt burnt into my subconscious an eternal determination to end Building Collapse in Nigeria. So after graduating from the Polytechnic, I rushed to Federal University of Technology, Minna to earn my First Degree in Civil Engineering. When I was done again I went to University of Lagos and obtained my M.Sc in Structures and later became registered with COREN with the licence to design and build high quality structures that can never crack or collapse. Since then, my team and I have Designed, Constructed and Renovated more than 1800 houses in Nigeria. We are based in LEKKI, Lagos but we work all over Nigeria! I am happy that during my Master's degree at University of Lagos in 2007 I did an intensive srructural research on the 3rd Mainland Bridge. This phase of repairs is long overdue. What the Structural maintenance does is to prolong the lifespan of the Structure. Everything on earth has expiry date. Buildings, Roads, bridges and Dams and everything has their lifespan. A bridge can expire and still be standing. The 3rd Mainland Bridge has not expired. However with the maintenance, it is given more years added to its lifespan. My advice to Lagos state Government on Building Approval 1. Crash the time taken to approve a building to 72 hours!!!!! Now you can Approve a building for 12 months. 2. Make the Requirements for Approval to be Complete Drawings sealed by Respective Registered Professionals plus Authentic Land documents. Remove all those very many other irrelevant things that you ask for. 3. Have a simple lower Approval fees. Because as it is now, to approve a simple building can run into millions. For God Sake the building owner is contributing to the GDP and increase of value of the state, and reducing unemployment by doing that project. So why charge him or her to death? 4. The Last Advice is for Approval process to be contracted to Private Consulting Firm. For instance in every LGA, have like 5 Firms with atleast 15 years of operation. For instance I find it always insane to carry my Structural design to Approval Office and a boy who was still in Secondary school when I started Structural designs to be scrutinizing it. Most times they dont know. So they tell the client "We have someone that can redo all these drawings from scratch. If our man does it we will approve it fast fast". There are good folks there but they are in the minority. We need the Approval process to be given to private firms that can run their Architectural and structural and Mechanical and Electrical analysis within 3 days then stamp "APPROVED FOR CONSTRUCTION" on ut at once. Or highlight the errors to be corrected. |

If you say that you need 12 Trillion in 2021 for instance and u will need 5 Trillion it means you only need 7 Trillion for 2021. The problem we have as a Nation is that those who cant manage their private family budget are tasked with managing the national budget! People should be elected based on their financial intelligence. By financial intelligence I mean how they can CREATE wealth for the nation. Wealth is not created when you tax your citizens. Wealth is not created when you borrow money. Wealth is created when you make money from outside the system. For instance instead of exporting 1 tuber of yam for N1,000 paying expenses of N800 on that tuber of yam, it's better to process the Yam here into a small easily handled product that can create N10,000 per tuber. Same with every other product. Processing is what industrialized the nation and gives employment to your youths thereby reducing crime and idleness. Processing makes wealth to circulate because when salaries are paid, everyone benefits more people are happy and domestic violence reduces and it increases the GDP. Nigerians let's be wise. Dont ever support the Executive against the Legislative. If the Ministry of Labour should handle the recruitment it means that the Politicians at the Executive Arm will benefit. If it is handled by the Directorate of Employment which looks as if its under the Executive Arm, the Legislators know what they are doing and they will benefit the most. As for us the Nigerian Youths that dont get any single free money from Government, let us continue to make our families and villages proud by engaging in DECENT and LAWFUL Businesses. One day, Favour will locate us. Meanwhile Ask me any Questions on your Building Construction on this Thread:- https://www.nairaland.com/2406381/ask-all-questions-building-foundations |
