It seem you’re experiencing a black screen as a result of a compromised bios which usually affects the graphics. HP 14 and 15 laptops are always having this issue.

Try the following

1. Connect it to your tv with HDMI cable or to a monitor to see if the external monitor comes up before the system
2. Disassemble the laptop and disconnect the LCD connector from the motherboard, then connect with HDMI to tv and see if it comes up as quick as possible
The above is if you’re technical enough


Another alternative is
1. Download the latest graphics driver from the manufacturer online entering your PC model on their website
2. Install and update the graphics driver through device manager
3. Download and install all the chipsets from the manufacturer website
4. Download the latest version of bios and update your laptop using the necessary steps to flash your bios

In some cases, downgrading your OS will ease the laptop burden or rather upgrade your RAM.

If the issue continues, you will get more expert view on this Forum.

Good evening People. My laptop takes a really long time for the screen to come on.
For instance, when I turn it on, the power on light will display on the keyboard side but for the screen to come on it takes a really long while.
Please what can I do ? I have tried cleaning the RAM, still this issue persists.
