PoliticsDanjuma Says ''had Ojukwu Acted Like Jonathan, there Won't Have Been Civil War''. by OperationIgrigi(op): 2:47pm On Apr 09, 2015
A former Minister of Defence and
Chairman of Victim Support Fund,
Theophilus Danjuma, has blamed the leader of the defunct Biafra, the late Chukwuemeka Ojukwu, for the civil war, which resulted in the death of nearly a million Nigerians.
Danjuma said this on Wednesday
after President Goodluck Jonathan
paid him a private visit in his Asokoro, Abuja residence.
He argued that had the late Ojukwu
conceded victory to the federal troops after the fall of Enugu during the civil war in the same manner President
Jonathan accepted defeat after the
March 28 presidential poll to Maj. Gen.Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) of the All Progressives Congress, the nation
would have been saved “a full year of bloodshed.”
Jonathan visited Danjuma, who is the Chairman of the Victims Support
Fund, in company with some of his
aides. The two leaders however met behind closed doors and they did not make
the purpose of the parley public.
Danjuma however told journalists at
the end of the meeting that the
President, by conceding defeat in the March 28 presidential election to
Buhari, had set a record.
He said Africa and the world should
emulate Jonathan.
He observed that if the late Ojukwu
had done the same thing after the fall of Enugu, he would have saved the
nation of bloodshed.
He said, “The outcome of the election and the manner in which President
Jonathan conceded victory to Buhari, is totally un-African, it is very
important in the history of Africa.
“If Ojukwu did the same after the fall
of Enugu, if he had conceded victory
to the federal troops, he would have
saved the nation one full year of
bloodshed. “President Jonathan has set a history, a record as something to be emulated
by the rest of Africa and indeed the
whole world. It’s an excellent thing he
did.” Jonathan simply thanked Danjuma for
his fatherly support during the
election.
It will be recalled that the former
minister had on March 11 visited
Jonathan at the Presidential Villa
during which they met behind closed doors inside Jonathan’s official
residence.
Danjuma had after the first meeting
warned reporters not to speculate the purpose of the visit.
He said having just returned to the
country from a foreign trip, he
needed to see Jonathan and find out developments in the country.
“Don’t speculate. I came to visit the
President and find out how things are going. I have been abroad. I just
came back,” he had said.
When asked whether he was ready to support Jonathan’s re-election,
Danjuma had said he could not
canvass votes for anybody because he does not belong to any political party.
“I don’t canvass (for votes). I am not
in any of the political parties. The
President is Nigeria’s President,” he
simply said.
Danjuma in January drew the ire of
some ex-Niger Delta militants, includ
ing Alhaji Mujahid Asari Dokubo and
Government Ekpemudo (a.k.a
Tompolo), when he called for their
arrests for threatening war if Jonathan loses the presidential election.
Apart from declaring the former
minister persona non grata in the
region where Jonathan hails from, the ex-militants also demanded an apology from Danjuma within seven days or face their wrath.
The repentant militant leaders said in a statement issued in Port Harcourt, that Danjuma was among northerners
who had become very comfortable in life because of the oil money from
Niger Delta.

I see a lot of hipocricy in ur points, just admit it, Igbos made grave mistakes in this election by voting based on tribal and religious lines, and who told u Igbos are not interested in positions? It is ppl like u that paint ur tribe in bad light and bring unnecessary rivalry which will end u guys as bitter losers.

IBO's have lost all their battles since civil war, and still losing till date cos of ppl like u.

Come Saturday ibo's will still vote in Lagos as if its their fathers land, and trust me this time there will be consequences

I am not yoruba, am Delta so don't cry more than the bereaved.[/s]
**grins** See baboon. Why are running away from your yoruba ethnic group. Is delta an ethnic group. You go school at all? Igbos have always lost?. Igbos may have lost out temporarily but what is greater than losing your ancestral land in Kwara and kogi to Emirate fulani forever. You do not deserve a nursery school certificate, your left brain hemisphere is missing, find it. *LOLS**

Dumbass, read through the internet. I haven't seen ONE single Igbo person LAMENTING about not getting a position in your APC party. Infact, Yoruba people are the only ones I've seen so far weeping and lamenting. Don't believe me? go through the tweets if Omojuwa, AfroVII, Ogundamisi and the other Yoruba morrons on Twitter. They are replete with lamentations and accusations against the Igbos for rejecting Ngige at the polls out of 'tribalism'.
Now, let's even leave Twitter. let's even look at THIS very thread from the start. Were you not the same person who jumped in lamenting about "Igbos overlooked again"? I mean, it is right there on this thread. Did you see any Igbo person complaining about whatever bullshitt post APC has to offer? Na una e still dey pepper pass for body. And as no Igbo person has complained, it keeps killing you inside.
But we shall not lose focus. We are united in our quest to completely purge our lands in the East of the vermin known as APC. And come saturday, we shall complete the onslaught by booting out Rochas, regardless of whatever 'offices' you're promising. It only benefits the office holder and his cronies.
You can remain on the internet and keep lamenting about Igbos for all I care. grin You wish we gave a damn grin
**grins*" Akshow, O'boy this babe don finish you. Why are you crying more than the bereaved Igbos. Why? **LoL**

the only thing I've noticed here so far is that it's yoruba ppl who seem more bothered about igbos and whatever shitty useless position apc is looking to offer them. even when I checked twitter on ngige's defeat, it's mostly yoruba ppl weeping more than the bereaved.
when will you get it past ur thick skulls that we're not interested in whatever 'position' ur party has to offer if it doesn't translate to positive progress on the lives of the general populace?
what did david mark's senate presidency do for the idomas? what did bankole do for ogun state? what did tambuwal do for sokoto?
in case you don't know ur history, the igbos have had more that five senate presidents, and they brought nothing to the table, why should we be swayed by imbecillic tokenism?
or is that how u ppl count progress where u come from? by the number of ur brothers holding public positions as against the positive impact on ur lives? if that's the case, then the core north should be the most progressive region in the country judging from the number if heads of state it has produced, no?

pls grow the fff7ck up and accept rejection. the south east does NOT wish to be a party to your hypocritical change, and come saturday, god willing, we shall finish the statement by ejecting that fat buffoon rochas okorocha.

On the contrary, Ndiigbo feel superior to all Nigerian groups, and we have many reasons to. Biafra is the pride of all Igbo people, it's a rallying point for us, and reminds us of what we can achieve when United. Ojukwu sworn that Biafra had the strongest army in black Africa, and he proved it, for even with the help of the British, USSR and Egyptians, Biafrans killed more Nigerian soldiers, without those foreign powers, We would have over ran Nigeria in a matter of days.

Ph is in the hands of Ikwerres, can we say the same of Lagos? What ever happened to the Aworis and Egun natives that you Yorubas from Osun, Ondo and the rest have over run Lagos, the Nigerian factor is currently blinding them, but in an Independen Odua, they will demand for total control of their lands and send you leeches back to Osun and co.

Ndiigbo has no guilt whatsoever for attempting to leave the Zoo, we are only angry that we didn't succeed at the first attempt.

Nzeogwu acted on his own, at the time of his coup, Ndiigbo controlled 2 of the four regions of Nigeria, change in power/ government was the last thing we needed.

No, we don't feel the North have upper hands over us, we just realized that with their southern vassals, they are always going to be a formidable opponent in Nigerian politics.
**grins** The yorubas nd hausas are now in love when one nothern leader arise like Abacha and IBB and starts killing and imprisoning their leaders like Awo, Giwa and MKO, they'll ask Igbo intellectuals like prof Ben Nwabueze and co. to come join them on the streets and dance fuji in the guise of protest as usual. LoveDecay:
ha ha disintegration of Nigeria. Goodluck with that, how can a group of people who cant sit down and speak with one voice profit from the disintegration of Nigeria. It's like comparing a family with a wealthy father with 3 chilidren. These 3 children cant agree about the color the house should be painted talkless of their father's legacy. What do you think will happen when the father dies and lives no will. You think there will be peace, each child will scheme to gain an upper hand. This is the same way , Biafra will look if they seceede - but we know secession is next to impossible in Africa it's against the rules . You need to start a war and probably loss a couple of million lives before anyone looks at you.
Think Sudan.

If we can look back to the source of this yoruba - ibo problem . The ibo people actually started it, the same way the place this country into a spiral of unending coup plots and military rule. The ibo people used to claim the north was there problem and that northerners are killing them or kill them whenever their is a riot . Today, its yoruba land. We hear very little of the north nowadays, I guess the south east has accepted the north actually does have an upper hand against them regardless of their low education levels.

The yoruba people seem to understand that if they do not assert their historical and cultural ownership of Lagos state it will turn into another port-harcourt , where the owners of the land cant even speak out. Again, the east remains bias - they want to live in your land enjoying equal right but they are never willing to grant such benefits to outsiders in their lands. The results of the recent presidential election prooves this.

The results from Lagos prooves that Lagos is the most mordern and tolerant city in Nigera - citing the victory of the ibo aspirants in elections held in Lagos. It's impossible for a yoruba man born and bred in Lagos - even married to an Igbo woman to achieve such a feat.

One may claim that their victory is due to their numbers but we need to sit down and ask ourselves will the ibo people settle down in Lagos and feel so free as to compete in elections held in Lagos with hopes to win. Let's ignore the fact that they ran under the banner of the PDP (which is strongly correlated with their victory).

Ibo land needs to accept that nobody in Nigeria is actually after them but thier guilt of a cessation attempt and Nzoegwu's evils haunt thier conscience whenever they interact politically with other Nigerians. We have forgotten this however, but as long as they support the individuals who continue to fight for this "pipe dream biafra" they will always feel inferior because that is what biafra symbolizes the inferiority of the ibo people in this great country called Nigeria.
**grins** Deflective syndrome. Why do you yorubas worry more about the failure or success of Biafra than the prospect of Odua. The Igbos you complain about are ready to renegotiate nigeria, why don't you cowards take advantage of that? Simple answer-you fear the north will suyalize odua people in Emirate kwara and deny you that land, and the Igbos may even help them. That's why the talk of Biafra scares the hell out of you guys.Children of a thousand Cowards. Ask for your own country For Once in your lifetime. SMH **lols**

Yorubas were also having deadly wrestling matches amongst themselves they called Kirijiri war or something like that, I guess they don't know the meaning of war, they were at each other's throat, they couldn't tolerate each other.

The Nigerian project helped them and gave them unity, Akintola and Awo simply helped them channel the hatred they had for each other towards Ndiigbo, in Igbo hatred, they were united, that was the purpose of the Yoruba Ronu speech by Akintola!

They are scared of Nigeria's disintegration, cos they would lose their object of unity ie Igbo hatred, and probably fall apart and return to their pre Nigerian Kiriji wrestling match days.
