Please can one get the covid test done in Ibadan by any of the approved centres?

How come your biometrics was done nearly a month after submission. Did you choose the date yourself?

Guess it's because we started to fill the forms early so we could check over and over and then submitting as soon as we were good with them. We weren't even aware of the 28 day rule before submission. We only focused on it for biometrics.

I don't know where to start but these last 42 days have been something else for me but I thank God the end of it is sweet.

Submission - 10th December
(28 day count started on 7th December. This was the primary cause of my sleepless nights when people told me I should have waited for the 28 days to be complete before submitting, that it's automatic refusal. Some even asked me to cancel the application and start again. This was difficult for a family of 5 so we prayed about it and moved on - God answers prayers o)

Biometrics- 7th January (standard)
Now the long wait began.

Non straightforward mail - 25th January (12th working day)
Like play like play, it reached 29 working days. No mail, nothing. Hmm!

Decision confirmation mail - 15th February
After several mails and back and forth with UKVI

Collection mail - 17th February

Collection - 18th February
All 5 of us got our visas

I didn't use any email address.
I searched on Google and got a contact form that I filled and I later got a response from them which came in as a mail. It was this email address I then continued to use to communicate with them.

Filling the form attracted some charges though.

I got this mail yesterday afternoon after doing a paid mail.

With regards to your enquiry about the status of your application, I can confirm that we have made a decision on your application.

We cannot discuss the outcome of your application on-line or by telephone.

However the visa application centre will be in contact with you in regards to collection or delivery of your passport.

We strongly recommend that you do not buy a non-refundable, non-flexible ticket to the UK, until your visa application has been approved and you have received your documents.

Can I take this as my decision mail?

Then is it absolutely true that getting a decision mail means a positive outcome?

Tier 4 is a non-settlement visa

Good morning all

Please I need your opinion on this and a few questions

So, I sent a paid mail to UKVI yesterday and got a response this morning saying a decision is yet to be made that if its a settlement visa and its passed 60 working days or a non settlement and its passed 15 working days, i should fill a form included within the mail.

So the question is, is the student visa non settlement or settlement so I will know if to fill the form or not?

Then how can decision still be pending after 22 working days?

Yes it's most likely an automated message due to the backlog because I also received such mail too last Monday (25th) and up till now I haven't got any further mail. Its 18 working days today since I did biometrics (family of 5).

I don't know if its the number of applicants that's causing the delay in their response.

Note: I (main applicant) have never been denied any visa or had any issues abroad so I do not fall into the category stated for a non straightforward mail.

It's so tiring.

Be calm and await your visa on your passport. Got this for my wife and got the visa after 3 days.

Many things could cause this.

1. There is a backlog and they cannot meet up with timelines.

2. Reconfirming the reason for your previous visa denials

3. A documentation they need clarity on. Etc

If they need more information you will be contacted

UK currency is pounds and never in dollars

This the site used by UK embassy for currency conversion . Put in your pounds equivalent and see what you need in naira and make sure you have some extra/buffer incase the naira falls suddenly when it time for 28 days

Is it calculated in dollars? Then is it CBN rate and then whats the current rate.

Hello everyone

A friend received an email stating a refusal for her visa application and the reason for that.

Just wondering what is going on as her passport is yet to be returned. She didn't even receive any mail about decision being made or anything. Just an email stating she was refused visit visa.

Please people, kindly shed light on this cause I have never heard such before.

Does it make sense to move the fund to stanbic then?

For those asking about form A..I applied with stanbic Ibtc on the 13th October and it got deducted on the 19th. So for now Stanbic might be the best bet, at least when things normalizes.
