6 groups. 16 teams qualify, (12 teams+ 4 best losers) usually based on points.
Winner in a group faces the 2 placed team in the next group.
As for the best losers. That can only be decided when the match is over.
Ukraine, Portugal, Germany and Serbia are all posibble teams Nigeria could face
